Abstract

Abstract. This research was conducted in grade IV of SD Negeri 2 Penambongan and was aimed at investigating the characteristics of students' learning difficulties, the factors causing difficulties in learning Mathematics, and the efforts conducted to resolve the difficulties of learning Mathematics. This research applied the qualitative approach with a case study design. The participants of the research were principal, class teacher, three grade IV students (chosen by the teacher's recommendation), and parents. The data were collected through observations, interviews, and document collections. The results of the data analysis showed that 1) the characteristics of difficulties in learning Mathematics experienced by the students was the abnormality of visual-spatial perception, 2) the internal factors causing difficulties in learning Mathematics were student's attitude, learning interest, motivation, and ability of sensing, while the external factors causing difficulties in learning Mathematics were learning strategies, learning aid, family, and society, 3) the efforts conducted by teachers to resolve the difficulties in learning Mathematics were motivating and supporting students when finding difficulties, the efforts conducted by students were joining extra courses out of school, and the efforts conducted by parents were motivating and accompanying their children when studying at home.

Abstract

This essay of African American history is intended to elucidate the role that African Christianity plays in African American struggles in achieveing the American ideals of freedom and equality. Upon the opinion that American people owe much from African American struggles the real meaning of freedom and equality which come from long historical strike for theri lives and liberties in the American land. This essay elaborate African American struggles from antebellum period into civil right movement in 1960s.

Abstract

Penelitian kreativitas guru kelas IV B SD Negeri 1 Purbalingga Wetan dalam pembelajaran SBdP dilakukan karena sekolah tersebut menjadi bagian dari program Gerakan Seniman Masuk Sekolah (GSMS) yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara guru dan tantangan yang ia hadapi saat mengimplementasikan kreativitasnya dalam pembelajaran SBdP.Jenis penelitian ini adalahkualitatif denganpartisipan kepala sekolah, guru kelas IV B, dan 4 peserta didik.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara.Pengujian keabsahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa guru kelas IV B merupakan guru kreatif yang mengimpelementasikan kreativitas dalam pemebalajaran SBdP seperti mengekpsos peserta didik dengan cara membantu peserta didik dalam pembelajaran,melibatkan peserta didik dalam segala aktivitas pembelajaran, memberikan motivasi kepada peserta didik dengan cara klasikal di depan kelas ataupun secara personal dengan peserta didik, menggunakan strategi pembelajaran yang berbeda dalam pembelajaran dapat membuat proses pembelajaran tidak monton dan membosankan, membuat pembelajaran menjadi menyenangkan,berimprovisasi dalam proses pembelajaran, membuat dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan aplikatif, membuat dan mengembangkan bahan ajar, menghasilkan inovasi-inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran. Tantangan yang dihadapi guru ketika mengimplementasikan kreativitas dalam pembelajaran yaitu berasal dari faktor internal dan eksttarl, tantangan dari faktor internal yaitu kemampaun guru dan dari faktor eksternal yaitu karaktersitik peserta didik yang berbeda-beda.

Abstract

Penelitian analisis kesalahan penulisan huruf kapital pada karangan narasi menggunakan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI) dilakukan karena masih sering dilakukan oleh peserta didik, yang mengalami kesulitan dalam hal penulisan huruf kapital yang benar sesuai dengan aturan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (PUEBI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan penggunaan ejaan huruf kapital yang dilakukan peserta didik dalam menulis karangan narasi. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif, dengan partisipan guru kelas V B, peserta didik kelas V B, dan kepala sekolah. Data pada penelitian ini berupa dokumen tulisan peserta didik yang berbentuk karangan narasi dan hasil wawancara dengan bantuan aplikasi google form. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh peserta didik yaitu sejumlah 380 kesalahan yang terdiri dari penggunaan huruf kapital pada awal kalimat dan tengah kalimat, nama geografi, dan nama bulan. Upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan tersebut yaitu dengan cara mencari referensi tambahan dan menambah buku-buku pegangan guru.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the dynamics of distance learning policies and the challenges faced by schools in implementing distance learning. This research uses qualitative research. This research was conducted at SD Negeri Karanglewas Kidul. Research data collection was carried out in September-November 2021 by interviewing school principals, class I-VI teachers, physical education teachers, and PAI teachers. Data collection was also carried out using data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that SD Negeri Karanglewas Kidul has adopted various policies made by the central government and local governments. The various policies implemented are aimed at supporting distance learning in education units. During distance learning, schools apply bold, engaging, or blended learning. The most dominant learning system used in bold learning is WhatsApp Group because this application is easily accessible to parents and makes it easier for teachers because it has complete features. Schools also apply offline learning and blended learning because during the implementation of distance learning there are obstacles or obstacles. Constraints or obstacles experienced such as teacher skills are not optimal in utilizing information technology, limited ownership of student gadgets, high internet quota needs and weak internet network connectivity, and students have difficulty understanding learning materials.

Abstract

Evaluasi pelaksanaan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) pada sekolah menengah atas negeri dan swasta di wilayah Purwokerto kota bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui tahap pelaksanaan GLS, (2) mengetahui faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat GLS. Penelitian ini menggunakan model analisi deskriptif kualitatif, data dicari dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Evaluasi hasil pelaksanaan program GLS mencakup (1) tahap penyampaian tujuan di dalam visi, misi (2) tahap pembiasaan Program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) diawali dengan penciptaan iklim literasi sekolah yang mencakup: (a) ketersediaan buku non pelajaran, (b) ketersediaan tempat koleksi, (c) ketersediaan poster - poster yang memotivasi. (3) tahap pelaksanaan GLS meliputi (a) penetapan waktu membaca, (b) pemilihan buku oleh siswa, (c) ada tidaknya tugas yang bersifat tagih, (d) ada tidaknya diskusi formal, (e) suasana kegiatan, (f) keikutsertaan guru mmbaca. Kegiatan pembiasaan dilakukan sebelum kegiatan pembelajaran pada sekolah Negeri dengan membaca Alquran dan buku pengetahuan maupun fiksi, sedangkan di sekolah swasta dimulai dengan membaca Al-Quran. (4) tahap pengembangan GLS pada sekolah Negeri ini dilakukan penugasan berupa tulisan sederhana dan adanya diskusi informal antar siswa serta sekolah sudah dibentuk tim literasi. (5) tahap pembelajaran GLS ini bertujuan untuk memberikan tugas yang dapat membantu siswa dalam kemampuan memahami teks dan mengaitkan dengan pengalaman pribadi dan mengidentifikasi hal yang perlu dicontoh dalam teks serta mengaitkannya dengan mata pelajaran tertentu. Program GLS ini dicanangkan pemerintah sudah disertai petunjuk teknisnya. Tetapi dalam pelaksanaannya di sekolah belum sesuai dengan petunjuk teknis.

Abstract

The history of America cannot be separated from squatting. When European people came to the eastern coast of America in 1600s, they had lived in the settlement that did not belong to them.  They did not stop living in the settlement, rather, they kept moving to the West to look for better life.  The discovery of gold in California made them move to the West although they underwent difficulties along their journey.  This study attempts to explore squatting in American culture in James Fenimore Cooper’s novel The Prairie.  This research uses Cultural Studies method, in which literary, historical and sociological approaches are combined to analyse a certain phenomenon on a text.  History and sociology are used in the research because they complement the existing sources in the literature.  The data are mainly taken from James Fenimore Copper’s novel, namely, The Prairie.  The novel is used in the research as starting points to describe squatting, and then the development of it can be described in American Culture.  Other data are taken from film, magazines, newspapers and historical and sociological articles, as well as articles from American Studies Journal.  Based on the research, squatting emerges because the squatters do not have enough money to buy or to rent the land for their settlement.  Besides, the squatters usually assume that the land that belongs to Indians can be occupied or owned without having to pay it.

Abstract

Examining the existence of traditional leadership can reveal a cultural bias related to irrational human actions related to super­natural beings, which are goal-oriented to meet the needs of their members. The cult of Eyang Banokeling is so strong in the Banokeling indigenous community, although Eyang Banokeling has long since died but the spirits that reside in the sacred burial placed in the Kedaton area are still strongly felt today, the Kedaton area is also a center of transcendental communication of the successor kuncens who are related to the spirits of Eyang Banokeling in fulfilling all the celebrations of this indigenous community, as well as the existence of Kyai Kuncen as a liaison for the spirits of Eyang Banokeling as well as the presence of The Banokeling Spirits as well as the presence of Kyai Kuncen as a liaison for the spirits of Eyang Banokeling as well as the liaison of the spirits of Eyang Banokeling as well as as indigenous leaders means a lot in this indigenous community. This study will try to examine the meaning of transcendental communication carried out by Kyai Kuncen for the indigenous people of Banokeling. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach using the case study method, which focuses attention on one particular object raised as a case. In the case study method, facts are achieved through the assess­ment of the connectedness of evidence from several data sources at once, namely documents, recordings, observations, open interviews, focused interviews, structured interviews and field surveys, so that the true meaning of Kyai Kuncen's transcendental communication function with the spirit of Eyang Banokeling is revealed for the Banokeling Indigenous Community.
