Abstract

Abstract: The study reports the investigation of students’ understanding of the realization of nominalizations in scientific text. Nominalization that dominates the language of science is defined as the formation of nouns which come from other nouns (e.g. verbs and adjectives). A strategic question comes up, inquiring about undergraduate students’ level of understanding of nominalizations in scientific text. This study was conducted among 20 Polytechnic students whose study background is engineering. Some numerical data were used, although this study was basically qualitative. The data were not only taken by carrying out an English test, using a scientific reading text, but also by conducting an interview among some of the participants. This test examined their understanding of nominalization, as it is one of the characteristics of scientific text. For analyzing the data, the framework of nominalyzing metaphor was used. This study found that the understanding of nominalizations was at moderate level; that was 65%. It was a bit above the average. It is concluded that this level of understanding nominalizations is not sufficient for the students to comprehend scientific text. Consequently, when reading scientific text, as it was stated in an interview, they experienced some difficulties. This finding is supported by Halliday’s statement that scientific language is difficult to read and to understand. It is recommended that for Polytechnic students some grammatical competence be improved by giving an explicit teaching, particularly with the topic of nominalizations. It is hoped that the higher the students’ understanding of nominalizations, the higher the students’ understanding of scientific text. Keywords: Nominalization, grammatical metaphor, scientific text

Abstract

Much research has been done on the Covid-19 pandemic, both in terms of health, economy, and education. This study aims to examine the leadership style and policies of Nadiem Makarim in finding solutions to the pandemic that occurred in the field of education. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The conclusion from this literature study is that the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the order of human life throughout the world, including Indonesia. Education is one sector that has an impact on this condition. The Minister of Education, Nadiem Makarim, with his young, energetic, innovative, and creative leadership style has changed the face of Indonesian education. From the results of the research conducted, there are several recommendations, namely: First, the government is expected to review the education system that has not been evenly distributed throughout Indonesia, how facilities and human resources are still far behind in the regions. Second, the public is expected to be more sensitive and concerned in technological developments so that technology can be used positively and beneficially and teaching staff are expected to learn technology and information so that they are not left behind on issues of knowledge development.

Abstract

This research will focus on studying the history of East Asia, how Japan became a colonial state since the 19th century. The intent and purpose of this research is to find out how the history of Japan's journey to becoming a colonialist country since the 19th century and becoming a very influential country. The method used by the author in this study is the historical research method which is divided into four stages, namely heuristics (collecting reference sources either books, journals, or articles from various sources related to the research theme) source criticism, interpretation (reinterpreting facts found), and historiography (writing the results obtained from this study). This is motivated by the emergence of imperialism which made several other countries form a colonial state. One of the countries in East Asia that adheres to imperialism is Japan, which in the end Japan became one of the countries with major influence in Asia including In Indonesia.

Abstract

Dalam proses belajar mengajar, kreativitas mengajar guru memainkan peran penting dalam peningkatan mutu hasil belajar siswa. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kreativitas mengajar guru adalah motivasi kerja. Apabila guru mempunyai motivasi motivasi kerja yang tinggi, mereka akan terorong dan berusaha untuk meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi kerja terhadap kreativitas mengajar guru di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN). Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan Skala motivasi kerja dan skala kreativitas. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik non probability sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 50 responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuisioner secara langsung dan dianalisis dengan teknik regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi kerja berpengaruh terhadap kreativitas mengajar guru dengan nilai R2 = 0,420. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa motivasi kerja berpengaruh terhadap kreativitas mengajar guru. Adanya penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan masukan kepada sekolah dan guru untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kreativitas guru dalam mengajar.

Abstract

Judul penelitian ini adalah “Peranan Adat Melayu Dalam Membangun Identitas Budaya”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adat dan budaya Melayu sebagai Urat nadi kebudayaan nasional, untuk mengetahui identitas budaya dan karakter bangsa, untuk mengetahui pesan konstitusional identitas budaya bangsa. Hasil dari penelitian ini akan memberikan gambaran tentang peran adat dan budaya melayu sebagai karakteristik bangsa untuk mempertahankan identitas nasional. Metode yang digunakan penulis adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur, dan artikel ini ditulis secara sistematis berdasarkan data yang diperoleh. Dimana penulis menggunakan beberapa buku, jurnal, artikel atau berita untuk dijadikan sebagai sumber penelitian dalam penulisan jurnal berjudul Peranan Adat Melayu Dalam Membangun Identitas Budaya ini. Abstract The title of this research is "The Role of Malay Customs in Building Cultural Identity". This research aims to find out Malay customs and culture as the lifeblood of national culture, to know the cultural identity and character of the nation, to find out the constitutional message of the nation's cultural identity. The results of this research will provide an overview of the role of Malay customs and culture as national characteristics to maintain national identity. The method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study approach, and this article was written systematically based on the data obtained. Abstract

Kebudayaan Melayu merupakan salah satu kebudayaan khasanah nusantara yang memiliki latar belakang peradaban yang kaya dan unik. Kebudayaan adalah hasil kreativitas manusia dalam menghadapi kondisi dan lingkungan di mana mereka hidup. Peradaban melayu merupakan inti budaya nusantara dan memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap perkembangan budaya di wilayah Nusantara salah satunya Bahasa dan kebudayaan melayu memberikan pengaruh Globalisasi yang dapat mempengaruhi dan berdampak pada perkembangan peradaban dan kebudayaan manusia. Metode yang digunakan penulis adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Penulis menggunakan beberapa buku, jurnal, artikel atau berita untuk dijadikan sebagai sumber penelitian dalam penulisan artikel berjudul “Peradaban Melayu Sebagai Khasanah Peradaban” ini. Tujuan dari penulisan jurnal Untuk memahami apa saja hal hal yang berkaitan dengan kebudayaan melayu, Untuk mengetahui bagaimana peradaban melayu dapat menjadi ini dari budaya nusantara, Untuk mengetahui dan juga memahami apa saja bentuk dari pengaruh globalisasi dan teknologi dalam peradaban melayu pada era modern saat ini. Abstract Malay culture is one of the Indonesian archipelago cultures which has a rich and unique civilizational background. Culture is the result of human creativity in dealing with the conditions and environment in which they live. Malay civilization is the core of Indonesian culture and makes a major contribution to cultural development in the Indonesian region, one of which is that Malay language and culture have the influence of globalization which can influence and impact the development of human civilization and culture. The method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study approach. The author used several books, journals, articles or news as research sources in writing this article entitled "Malay As A Khasanah Of Civilization". The purpose of writing a journal is to understand what things are related to Malay culture, to find out how Malay civilization can become this part of Indonesian culture, to know and understand what forms the influence of globalization and technology has on Malay civilization in the current modern era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kepustakaan tentang Implementasi Kurikulum pendidikan Tinggi berbasis Merdeka belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan gambaran implementasi kegiatan dalam program Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka. MBKM merupakan kegiatan memfasilitasi hak belajar mahasiswa dalam “tiga semester diluar program studi”. Dalam hal ini kurikulum KKNI dikelompokkan menjadi tiga, yaitu 1) Lima semester di program studi masing-masing, mahasiswa diharuskan mengambil mata kuliah sesuai dengan program studi; 2) Satu semester di program studi berbeda, mahasiswa dibolehkan mengambil Mata Kuliah di program studi lain dalam satu Universitas yang sama tujuannya adalah untuk pengayaan dan perluasan ilmu pengetahuan; 3) Dua semester di luar program studi pada perguruan tinggi berbeda/ kegiatan lain, mahasiswa dibolehkan mengambil mata kuliah atau kegiatan lain di luar program studi pada perguruan tinggi yang berbeda atau mitra lain. Permendikbud No 3 Tahun 2020 Pasal 15 ayat 1, bentuk kegiatan pembelajaran yang dapat dilakukan yaitu meliputi: pertukaran pelajar, magang/praktek kerja, proyek di desa, mengajar di sekolah atau satuan pendidikan, penelitian/riset, kegiatan kewirausahaan, studi/proyek independen dan proyek kemanusiaan.

Abstract

Building strategic feasibility towards improving the quality of higher education institutions is a must for every higher education institution so that they are able to compete and adapt to various dynamics of contestation, technological change, as well as socio-economic and cultural changes. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study design at UII Yogyakarta, as one of the oldest private universities in Indonesia. Data were collected through interviews, documentation and direct observation. The findings show that the implementation of the internal quality assurance system in UII Yogyakarta is carried out through an ongoing process phase that improves the quality of the education process through decision making, implementation, evaluation, management and improvement. The quality assurance cycle is a process that helps ensure that the quality of a product or service is high. The SPMI Study Program at UII Yogyakarta is carried out by the Quality Assurance Cluster System organization (SGPM) in coordination with the Quality Assurance Agency of the Islamic University of Indonesia (BPM-UII) in which the quality assurance (QA) specialist is responsible for planning and implementing a quality assurance system that is comprehensive and complete.. The SPMI cycle consists of nine steps or stages, namely: standard setting process, implementation, and monitoring of a project which are essential to ensuring quality, self-evaluation and internal quality audit which are also important ways to ensure that the project remains on track., formulation of corrections, and in order to improve the quality of service delivered to stakeholders, it is important to ensure that everyone is satisfied with the results.. Utilization of the results of the implementation of SPMI at UII Yogyakarta is carried out internally to improve the performance of study programs.

Abstract

This research explores the regulation of child custody for minors under Indonesian law following divorce, based on Decision Number 3208/pdt.G/2020/PA.Krw. Divorce entails the allocation of custody to one of the separating partners, either the mother or the father. Additionally, parents are obliged to educate their children until they reach the age of 18 or marry. The study adopts a normative juridical method, finding that the regulation of child custody for minors is outlined in Article 105 of the Compilation of Islamic Law, granting a mother the right to raise a child who is not yet mature (mumayyiz) or under 12 years old, while a mature child is returned to them. However, in divorce cases, these rules may not apply, and judges have the discretion to consider the child's interests under Law Number 1, Article 41, with custody potentially revoked under Law Number 1 of 1975, Article 45(1). Custody of minors under Islamic Law is governed by Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection, amended by Law Number 35 of 2014, Article 105, which assigns custody of children under 12 to their mothers, yet court rulings may favor fathers.
