Abstract

This paper is the research result that aimed to determine the effect of video-feature learning media on the ability of pre-service elementary school teachers to appreciate Indonesian traditional arts. The research method used was true experiment with a between-subject design (two experiment control group design). The population of this study was 600 students of elementary school teacher education at a university in Surakarta with a sample of 120 students assigned to the experimental and control groups. The sampling technique used was random sampling. The instrument validity used content validity and construct validity to test the validity of test instruments and media. The data were collected using tests and interviews. They were then analysed using t-test with SPSS 16 for windows. The results of the study showed that there is a difference in the ability to appreciate arts between the students in the control and experimental groups. This can be seen from the mean pre-test score of the experimental class of 13.727 which experienced an increase from the initial test (pre-test) of 10.045. On one hand, the mean post-test score of control class was 9.909 which experienced a slight increase from the mean of the initial test (pre-test) of 9.818. The conclusion of this study is that the video-feature media influences the ability of the pre- service teachers of elementary school teacher education program.

Abstract

The Surakarta Karaton Karawitan which has lived and developed for centuries in the Javanese culture and its distribution leaves many questions, especially those related to the aesthetic concept of the Surakarta Karaton karawitan. The description of the Surakarta Karaton Karawitan musical concept as a reference for the Surakarta community has not been widely revealed. This article aims to reveal and describe one of the aesthetic concepts of the Surakarta Karaton Karawitan, namely the concept of nengsemaken. The paradigm of text and context is used to see the Surakarta Karaton Karawitan events as readable sentences or texts. Texts or sentences have tendency with certain meanings that show certain thoughts that ultimately produce meaning. The concept of interpretation of Clifford Geertz was used to read and interpret musical events in the Surakarta Karaton. From the study conducted, nengsemaken was interpreted as tan sora swarané, rempek rampak kabèh mung jinawil, and sajanturing ringgit.

Abstract

This study purpose to explain the needs of teachers regarding the teaching materials of mathematics materials time, velocity, and distance based on RME, the validity and practicality of teaching materials developed, the difference in average test results of learners before and after using teaching materials. This research is the research and development of Borg and Gall modified by Sukmadinata with steps: 1) preliminary study, 2) model development, 3) model test. The sample of this study was 5 students of class V of Wirun 04 State Elementary School, Sukoharjo. Data collection techniques are interviews, document analysis, questionnaires, and tests. Data Validity using triangulation of data sources. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the available teaching materials have not been able to meet the needs of teachers because of minimal practical activities and have not been able to recognize students' thinking ability and have not been in accordance with the concrete level of thinking of elementary school children. The development of mathematical teaching materials material time, distance, and speed is declared valid and practical to be used in the field by experts and is considered effective in improving the achievement of the average value of mathematics learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Comparative Study of Scramble Learning Model and Concept Sentence on Summary Writing Skills in terms of Learning Motivation. (Experimental Research on Class V Semester 2 SD Students in Laweyan District, 2019/2020 Academic Year). The population of this study was all students in grade V SD Negeri in Laweyan District, Surakarta City for the 2019/2020 school year, totaling 38 schools. The sample in this study was grade V of some public elementary schools in Laweyan District, Surakarta City. Theexperimental class in this study was in class V SD Negeri Bumi 1 and SD Negeri Bratan III, while the control class was in class V SD Negeri Pajang III and SD Negeri Tegalsari. Data collection techniques in this study used a test (post-test) and non-test (questionnaire). The data analysis technique used in this study was the Two Way Variance Analysis (Two Way Anava) with a significant level of α = 0.05. The results showed that there were differences in summary writingskills between students who were taught by the Scramble learning model and students who were taught with the Concept Sentence learning model, indicated by the acquisition of the Sig. = 0.000 <0.05. There are differences in summary writing skills between students who have high learning motivation and students who have low learning motivation. This is indicated by the acquisition of the Sig. = 0.000 <0.05. There is an interaction between the learning model and learning motivation on summary writing skills indicated by the acquisition of Sig. = 0.000 <0.05.

Abstract

Aesthetics is an observation of beauty, values, and judgments that view human works from the perspective of whether they are beautiful and not—Serat Sri Karongron by R. Ng. Purbadipura was written during the reign of Paku Buwana X, releasing a pulse of musical life in the Surakarta Palace, which implies the artistic content of the Surakarta Palace’s karawitan. Serat Sri Karongron explicitly mentions the atmosphere of the Seger sumyah karawitan feeling. The phrase Seger sumyah can be interpreted as something that can make someone feel happy because Seger sumyah refers to an excellent or delicious taste. Purbadipura notes that Seger sumyah refers to the gobyog karawitan presentation at the Surakarta Palace. On the other hand, Purbadipura reported that the gobyog karawitan presentation still refers to the karawitan presentation with three parameters of tan sora swaranira, rampak-rempeg, and sajanturing ringgit. The aesthetics of the Seger sumyah karawitan, which refers to karawitan composition with the nuances of gobyog, had a chance to live and develop during the reign of Paku Buwana X.

Abstract

Karawitan (gamelan music and singing accompanied by a gamelan) is an integral part of court activities. The very large role of karawitan makes the court karawitan an integral part of court traditional life. The large role of court karawitan is closely related to the traditional ceremonies. The importance of karawitan in the court traditional life finally makes the karawitan one of power legitimacy tools to confirm the king’s power and authority. Thus, there is a unity between the court tradition and karawitan, in other words, karawitan cannot be apart from the court tradition. In other words there is reciprocal and mutual relation between the king, karawitan and court tradition. Such relationship between king, karawitan and court tradition is called system. It is named system because there is a strong reciprocal relationship and the loss of one such element will harm the court traditional life survival.Keywords : king, karawitan, court tradition, system

Abstract

This research aims to improve Javanese script writing skills for four grade students of Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta Elementary School in 2018/2019 academic year by using Tali Andha Aksara Jawa media. This Classroom Action Research consisted of two cyles with two learning in each cycle. Subject in this research were students and teacher in IV E grade of Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta Elementary School. Research data collection by way of interviews, observations, test, and document analysis. Source triangulation and technical triangulation used for data validity. The data in this research used descriptive comparative analysis techniques and interactive analysis model by Miles and Huberman. Classical completeness of students in initial condition was 8%, in first cycle showed 56%. then in second cycle showed 92%.Keywords: Writing skills, Javanese script, Tali Andha Aksara Jawa, elementary school

Abstract

The purpose of the research is improve the writing skill of poetry by applying Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model on the fifth grade of Surakarta State Primary School at 2017/2018 academic year. The type of this research is classroom action reseach (CAR), it consist of two cycles. Each cycles consist of four phases, they are planning, action, observasion, and reflection. The data collecting technique are interview, observasion, documentation, and test. The data validity technique are content validity and triangultion methods. The data analysis is interactive analysis model (Miles and Huberman). The improvment percentage of completness in pre-cycle, first cycle, and second cycle. The conclusion of the research is applying Coopertive Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model can improve the writing skill of poetry on the fifth grade of Surakarta State Primary School at 2017/2018 academic year.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the learning motivation of fifth grade elementary school students in describing advertising exposure information. This study used qualitative research methods. The subjects of this study were seven fifth grade students at SDN Mangkubumen Lor No. 15 Surakarta for the 2021/2022 academic year. This study uses data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data analysis used is an interactive analysis model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results showed that students with low learning motivation had a percentage of 28.57%. Students with sufficient learning motivation have a percentage of 28.57%. Students with high learning motivation have a percentage of 28.57%. While students with very high learning motivation have a percentage of 14.29%. There are seven indicators of learning motivation to determine the level of student learning motivation, including: being diligent in facing assignments and completing them, facing difficulties tenaciously and never giving up, showing interest in dealing with problems, independent learning, getting bored quickly. on assignment. - Routinely do assignments, defend and convince opinions with good and strong reasons, and like to find problems and solve problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the analysis of the impact of online learning on reading comprehension skills. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects of this study were fourth grade students of SD Negeri 6 Parakan. Research data collection is done through data collection techniques of observation, interviews and document studies. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the fourth grade students of SD Negeri 6 Parakan in analyzing reading comprehension skills in fiction stories were still less successful in obtaining reading information, explaining the intrinsic elements of reading, drawing conclusions from the reading, and determining statements that were in accordance with the contents of the reading. from reading. Constraints in reading comprehension skills are the students' lack of interest in reading, lack of reading facilities and the role of parents. The solution to these problems is to foster students' interest in reading, improve reading facilities both at school and at home, and get used to reading from an early age by parents.
