Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the microscopic changes in rabbit femur fracture healing post-implantation of the graft material demineralized powder bone of bali cattle. Twelve local male rabbits were divided into two groups randomly. Group A consisted of three rabbits used as a control, in which the diaphysis rabbit femur bones were drilled with a diameter of 5mm and depth of drill to reach the medulla, without giving graft material. Group B nine rabbits that were drilled the same as group A and given a powder bone graft. Monitoring progress of bone healing was done in a row against one rabbits in group A and group B three rabbits at week 2nd, 4th, and 6th post-surgery with biopsy for sampling bone subsequently prepared to see microscopic changes the bone with using hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. The results showed that the group B bone healing observ by reducing inflammation, proliferation of fibrolast, osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, woven bone, trabecular bone, and neovascularization. In conclusion, the origin of the bone graft material bali cattle was able to induce the healing process of bone fractures in rabbits.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the comparison of induction, duration and recoverytime of anaesthesia with addition of premedication atropine-xylazine and atropinediazepamfor anaesthesia of ketamine in pigeon (Columba livia).Complete Random Device (RAL) was used to analisis. The total of eight teen of pigeonused for this study. They were divided into three groups i.e. (I) treated with ketamine : 75mg/kg of body weight as a positive control, (II) treated with combination of atropinexylazine-ketamine with dose 0,02 mg/kg of body weight, 4 mg/kg of body weight and 75mg/kg of body weight and (III) treated with combination of atropine-diazepam-ketaminewith dose 0,02 mg/kg of body weight, 2,5 mg/kg of body weight and 75 mg/kg of bodyweight. Data were analized with Analysis of Variance. (Steel and Torrie, 1989). Theresult showed that the anaesthesia of ketamine and the combination of atropine-diazepamketaminewas not resulted the induction and duration time of anaesthesia. That mean,recovery time of anaesthesia ketamine and the combination of atropine-diazepam-ketamineare 114,4 minutes and 138,1 minutes. The combination of atropine-xylazine-ketamine wasresulting the mean of induction 13,4 minutes, duration 82,8 minutes and recovery 139,6minutes. The result showed that no significantly different (P > 0.05) the time of recoverybetween the anaesthesia of ketamine, combination of atropine-xylazine-ketamine andcombination of atropine-diazepam-ketamine.

Abstract

Burns wound is a condition where the skin tissue damage due to skin contact by the heat source such as electricity shock, chemicals irritation, fire and radiation. Research on Binahong (Anredera Cordifolia (Tenore) Steenis) has been conducted by applying leaf crush Binahong plant on the rat skin surface (Rattus norvegicus). The result is that Binahong plany can heal burns. It proven that on the examination of macroscopic microscopic of the white rats skin can shorter duration of inflammation by fasten collagen density epithelialization.[11: Research results were statistically analyzed with the help of tools SPSS for windows 17 conducted using The Randomize Posttest Only Control Group Design. Thirty-two (32) female white rats weight 150-200 gram were divided into two treatments in which each treatment consisted of 16 rats. results were statistically analyzed with the help of tools SPSS for windows 17. Results of the study are: 1. Binahong leaves binahong affecting the healing of burns on rats by accelerating the speed of skin epithelialization process. 2. The research result can be used for treatment of skin burn. And suggesting that Binahong can be used particularly in remote area where lack of medicine access.

Abstract

Penentuan kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani menggunakan Accu-check Active dilakukan di laboratorium Patologi Klinik Veteriner, Fakultas Kedoktern Hewan Universitas Udayana. Sampel darah diambil dari 50 ekor anjing kintamani untuk menentukan kadar glukosa acak dan 10 ekor untuk mengetahui kadar glukosa darah puasa dan dua jam setelah makan. Sampel darah diambil dari vena chepalica. Anjing yang dipilih sebagai sampel adalah anjing kintamani milik penduduk di daerah Denpasar dan Kintamani. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan rerataan kadar glukosa normal darah anjing kintamani secara acak sebesar 86,62 mg/dl  19,09, jantan adalah 84,10 mg/dl  19,11  dan betina 89,81 mg/dl  19,01..  Pada keadaan puasa kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani adalah 73,4 mg/dl  5,98,   jantan 74 mg/dl  2,82 betina 73 mg/dl  7,69. Kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani dua jam setelah makan sebesar 75,6 mg/dl  6,13, jantan 76,25 mg/dl  2,36 dan  betina 75,76 mg/dl 7,98. Hasil ini masih berada dalam kisaran normal berdasarkan standar acuan Graham. Dengan demikian Accu-check Active dapat dipakai untuk menentukan kadar glukosa darah anjing kintamani.

Abstract

This study is to determine the effect of xylazine-ketamine hydrochloride combined withtiletamin-zolazepam combination to Capillary Refill Time (CRT), paleneus of mucousmembranes, heart pulse frequency and pulse before anesthesion, when anesthezed andduring anesthetion. The experimental was carried duct on local dog. The experimental design has 2 treatments : dose I (2 mg/kg body weight of xylazinehydrochloride ; 15 mg/kg body weight of ketamine hydrochloride) and dose II (20 mg/kgbody weight of zoletil). Each of treatment use 5 local dogs and total of 10 dogs for all of thetreatments. Data were analyzed by analysis of varience test and the score data analyzed byfriedman test. A results showed the combination of xylazine-ketamine hydrochloride andtiletamin-zolazepam combination could increase to Capillary Refill Time (CRT) andmucous membranes colour.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui daya sebar vaksin ND aktif galurlentogenik (La Sota) dan respons immune ayam yang tidak divaksin yang dipeliharabersama ayam yang divaksin secara intramuskuler. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancanganacak lengkap pola berjenjang (split time) dengan faktor utama perlakukan vaksinasi (TO:0% divaksin dan 100% tidak divaksin , T1: divaksin 50 % dan 50 tidak divaksin dan T2:divaksin 75% dan 25% tidak divaksin) dengan sembilan kali ulangan. Faktor tambahanadalah waktu pengambilan serum (minggu ke-0, ke-1, ke-2 dan ke-3) sehingga jumlahsampel adalah 3x9x4= 108 sampel serum. Ayam umur 3 hari divaksinasi ND secara tetesmata kemudian dilakukan vaksinasi intramuskuler pada umur 21 hari sesuai perlakuan.Titer antibodi ND pada ayam perlakuan diuji dengan uji hambatanhemaglutinasi/hemagglutination inhibition (HI) satu hari sebelum vaksinasi, serta satuminggu, dua minggu, dan tiga minggu setelah vaksinasi. Data tentang titer antibodi (GMTHI)terhadap ND ditransformasi dengan akar X+1, dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dandilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa titerantibodi terhadap ND pada ayam yang tidak divaksin dipengaruhi oleh persentase ayamyang divaksin. Antibodi HI unit terhadap virus ND pada ayam yang tidak divaksinasimulai teramati pada minggu ke-2 dan ke-3 setelah vaksinasi. Titer antibodi ayam yangtidak divaksinasi pada kelompok ayam yang hanya divaksin 75% mempunyai titer antibodiyang nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok ayam yang divaksin 50% dankontrol (P<0,05). Pada kelompok ayam yang divaksin 50%, titer antibody ND pada ayamyang tidak divaksin secara statistik berbeda tidak nyata dibandingkan dengan kelompokyang divaksin 0% (P>0,05). Pada minggu ke tiga, titer antibody ND ayam yang tidakdivaksinasi pada kelompok ayam yang divaksin 75% nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkandengan pada kelompok ayam yang divaksin 50% (P,0,05). Vaksin ND aktif lentogeik LaSota dapat menyebar dari ayam yang divaksin secara intramuskuler kea yam yang tidakdivaksin

Abstract

This study aims to determine the reproductive appearance of balinese pigs that are raised semi-intensively. The research was conducted in Grokgak Village, Buleleng, by purposive random sampling and an exploratory approach. Data collection was carried out on several breeders using interview techniques with person/farmer group, inseminator (secondary data) and direct observations in the field (primary data). Tabulation is done on primary and secondary data and analyzed descriptively to see the mean and standard deviation. Reproductive appearance research results show : bali pigs began to experience early estrus at the age of 6.7 ± 0.78 months; initial mating 7.8 ± 0.6 months; duration of estrus 2.8 ± 0.4 days; cycle length of estrus 17.8 ± 1.40 days; signs of estrus: restlessness, refusing to eat, swollen vulva, silent when his back is pressed and the pigs respond in a ready to mate position, pigs sometimes salivate, and a distinctive voice; duration of pregnancy 111.6 ± 1.50 days; litter size 10.8 ± 0.98 tail, weaning age 2.5 ± 0.5 months; weaning weight 6.35 ± 0.79 Kg; and estrus postpartum 79.8 ± 8.02 days. It can be concluded that semi-intensive balinese pig rearing produces a fairly good reproductive performance and very promising to be maintained in dry areas because the adaptability to the environment and feed is quite good.

Abstract

A study to determine the effect of anesthesia xylazine- ketamine hydrochlorida withanesthesia tiletamine-zolazepam administration to heart pulse frequency and pulse duringanesthetion. The experimental was carried duct on local dog. The experimental design usewas a splite in time with 2 treatment : treatment I xylazin-ketamin ( 2 mg/Kg Body weightof xylazine ; 15 ing/Kg Body weight ketarnine) and treatment II tiletamine-zolazepam ( 20mg/Kg Body weight). Each treatment use 5 dogs as refrain so we use 10 dogs for all of thetreatment. Obtain data is analized by various investigated test. Result of this study indicatedthat difference of treatment there were no significance, but time of the observed duringanesthesion showed more highly significance and significant to pulse frequency.

Abstract

Extracellular matrix (ECM) is currently one of the most commonly used scaffolds for tissue engineering procedures. Extracellular Matrix (ECM) can originate from the submucosa of the small intestine or vesica urinaria (urinary bladder) of a pig. The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability and safety level of using pig’s vesica urinaria as an extracellular matrix to the process of healing open wounds in white rats and to find out the changes that occurred in the implant area after administration of urine vesica powder which was observed macroscopically. Thirty-two male white rats to be used in the study were adapted environmentally for 1 week and given commercial feed (pellet brand 552) and adlibitum drinking water. Rats were divided into two groups of 12 each. Group I (treatment) of 12 rats in the back area were injured with a scalpel blade 2mm deep and 2 cm long and treated with extracellular matrix material derived from pig’s vesica urinaria. Group II (control) ie 12 treated rats were the same as group I and were not treated. Monitoring the safety of the matrix material then observing the development of wound healing at 24 hours, day 5, day 10, and day 15 postoperatively by observing macros (redness, swelling, and scab). The results of the examination showed that the administration of extracellular matrix material accelerated the wound healing process compared to the control group with a perfect closed wound mark on the 15th day.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the rainy season and the dry season on the quality of Bali cattle sperm at the Baturiti Artificial Insemination Center, Tabanan, Bali. In an effort to support artificial insemination programs, accelerate genetic quality improvement, increase production to maintain national food security. This study used a completely randomized design with two variables: the rainy season (February - May 2019) and the dry season (June - September 2019). This study used 9 Bali cattle bull with a range of 5-8 years. The semen is collected using the artificial vaginal method, carried out twice a week for each bull. The observed variables included pH, volume (ml), color, thickness, mass movement, concentration (106 cells/ml), motility of spermatozoa (%), abnormality (%), and intact plasma membrane (%). The results were analyzed by T-test. The results of the study concluded that the season had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the quality of Bali cattle’s semen at the Baturiti Artificial Insemination Center, Tabanan, Bali.
