Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted in January-February 2019. To determine the types of sediment constituents material and the environmental conditions of the Selat Padang waters based on the texture of surface sediment. The sediment was taken using grab sampler from three station, in which each station consists of three sampling point. The results showed that sediment types were in the waters of the Selat Padang indomination by sandy mud.Sediment parameters in the Selat Padang have an average diameter (Mz) of 5.2-5.33 Ø with the classification of medium silt, sortingthat is2.16-2.93 Ø with the classification is the disaggregated very bad, skewness (-0.12)-(- 0.48) Ø with classification very rough, kurtosis is 4.80 - 25 Ø with the classification very sharp once classified into platikurtik .The sediment compositions found were lithogeneous and biogeneous dominated bylithogenous, indicate the sediment comes from coastal erosion carried by ocean currents and then deposited in the bottom of the watersThe highest average value of organic materials contained in the station 1 (12.76%) located in Sei Selari port which is included in the classification of the medium organic matter indicate little supply of organic material from the sea to the coast. Keywords: Selat Padang, Sediment, Sediment Composition, Organic Material

Abstract

AbstractBathymetry is a measure of high and low seabed where bathymetry maps provide information about the seabed. This research was conducted in November 2018 - January 2019,in the waters of the Sasak coast of West Pasaman district. This study aims to determine the depth and shape of the seabed morphology as well as the type of sediment,The research method used is a survey method, then the sampling point is determined by purposive sampling, the fixing fixation point consists of 100 points and 9 sediment sampling points. Then sediment analysis and bathymetry data processing are performed. The results showed the depth of water in the study area between 4 to 14.5 meters and has a type of seabed morphology that is classified as gentle. The distribution of basic sediments in the study area consists of three (3) types of sediment fractions, namely gravel, sand and mud,The type of sediment at each sampling point is based on the proportion of gravel particle content, sand and mud are classified according to Shepard's triangle, weight percentage fraction and sediment type at each station point. Keywords :Bathymetry, Sediment.

Abstract

This research was conducted in March 2022 in the Marine Conservation Area, Tapanuli Tengah Sumatera Utara. This study aims to determine the relationship between coral cover, total suspended solid and the density of megabenthos found in the Marine Conservation Area, Tapanuli Tengah Sumatera Utara. The method used in this study is a survey method and spatial analysis tools method. Coral cover data was collected using the LIT (Line Intercept Transect) method and megabenthos data was collected using the BBT (Benthos Belt Transect) method. The results showed that Marine Conservation Area, Tapanuli Tengah, Sumatera Utara had a good percentage of coral cover. Not all types of megabenthos are present at every station, the highest density of megabenthos is Tridacninae, while the lowest density is Acanthaster planci. Then it was also found that there was an effect of the percentage of coral cover on economic and non-economic megabenthos. Total suspended solid consentration in this area was found  with an average of 8.27 mg/l. Based on the regression analysis in this study, showed that there was an effec of total suspended solid on percentage of coral cover.
