Abstract

Abstract

Green open space (RTH) is one of the most important elements in urban areas that can function to balance the ecological conditions in an area so that there is a balance between ecosystems and development developments in the modern era. But the pace of urban development often does not consider the existence of green space. Other than that, many people do not know the existence and function of green space, so it often looks like being ignored and not maintained. In this case, researchers are interested in identifying the potential presence of green open space in the Seberang Ulu II sub-district of Palembang. This study will collect data on the location of each green space in the Seberang Ulu II sub-district, identification of existing vegetation types, estimation of carbon storage, and the level of understanding of the Seberang Ulu II community on the existence and function of green space. The method used is to use plot sampling to determine the level of diversity of green space and the distribution of questionnaires to determine the level of community understanding. The results showed that the area of green open space in the Seberang Ulu II sub-district was only 1.88% of the total area. From the open green space location in Seberang Ulu II Subdistrict, there are 33 species of green open vegetation plants. Where Angsana plants (Pterocarpus indicus), trembesi (Albizia saman), palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.), Glodogantiang (Polyathea longifolia) and palm (Mascarena sp) become a plant that dominates and has the highest INP value.

Abstract

To overcome the problem of land degradation due to mining is reclamation (revegetation). This study aims to analyze the level of diversity of vegetation types in post-coal mining reclamation land in 2009, 2012 and 2015. Identification and measurement of vegetation parameters using the path or transect method of analyzing vegetation data and species diversity. The potential level of vegetation species diversity shows that the diversity index value of vegetation species in the 2009 planting year is relatively low, namely at the understorey level, seedlings and saplings, at the pole level and trees are classified as moderate with a value of 1.65. Whereas the rare type is relatively low, only the seedling level is classified as medium with a diversity value of 1.52. The index value for the diversity of vegetation types in 2012 for the thick type was relatively low, only at the pole level, which was classified as medium with a value of 1.66. In the relatively low sparse type only the level of understorey, seedlings and saplings can be calculated with the highest diversity value of 1.55. The value of the diversity index for vegetation types in the 2015 planting year for thick and sparse types was relatively low with the highest diversity index value of 1.04.

Abstract

Calculation and estimation of carbon stocks in various types of forests and ecosystems in Indonesia has been widely practiced. However, the availability of carbon stock information for some locations in the remaining forest area in South Sumatra Province is still very limited. This study aim to measuring the carbon storage potential and the ratio between the carbon storage value derived from the interpretation of satellite imagery and the storage of carbon stock from the field calculation. The method used is to calculate the estimation of carbon stock through satellite imagery interpretation and field measurement. The largest estimation of carbon stock through satellite image interpretation was found in secondary forest cover type with yield 896,234 ton/c/ha, followed by plantation land type with a yield of 147.104 ton/c/Ha and the smallest is open land cover with value yield of 2.883 tons/c/ha. While carbon stocks through field measurement yield 429,181 ton/c/ha of secondary forest cover type, followed by plantation land type with 41,169 ton/c/ha and 4,283 ton/c/ha for open land type. A comparison of carbon stock estimates of the two approaches used, yielding a reference value of 220%. These comparative values can be used to assist in carrying out initial estimates of carbon stocks in some types of land cover, especially for lowland forest types.

Abstract

The Red River Protected Forest is close residential areas, resulting in intensive interactions between communities and protected forest. Directed on the management, extracting forest products not wood and services environment. One management services environments that are going to a business and can be administered in the forest are participating in the scheme incentives services mechanism store and carbon spare. When management will follow the incentives stock and absorb carbon REDD+, so then calculation carbon stock early to important and necessary. This study aims to calculate the amount of savings mobilized carbon the upper surface of the in a protected forest the red river KPHP Meranti. The value of the amount of savings mobilized carbon the above ground of them in the long term, can be used as a baseline to participate in the program REDD+. The data stands in the form of a stake through the stake, with a pole and trees in every type veils and the diameters of tree height measurement (DBH) taken from secondary data the results of previous studies that will be used as a means of calculation stands biomass. The result of this research is saving through the largest carbon in the field were in the protected land cover of secondary 259.3474 Ton/C, second largest carbon savings are covered land shrub with the saving of carbon stock 21.8023 T/c and the smallest carbon stock is in plantations by land cover the carbon stock of 6.2881 Ton/C.
