Abstract

Generic Science Skills (GSS) are the ability to think and act based on the knowledge possessed by individuals. Every human being has generic science skills that need to be developed along with the development of the human brain. This is because generic science skills can be developed in accordance with the development of the level of human thinking. After the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching and learning activities experienced changes in the learning process. This resulted in learning originally carried out in the network (online) turning into offline learning (offline). Biology is a science that allows students to discover for themselves the concepts and facts contained in the biology material. Finding concepts in biology requires direct observation of biological objects. This study aimed to describe generic science skills among class X students at SMAN 1 Daha Utara. The research was conducted using a descriptive method. The description of students' generic science skills was obtained from filling out the questionnaire distributed to students. The generic science skills questionnaire used uses aspects that refer to Brotosiswoyo in 2001, which contain direct observation, indirect observation, awareness of scales, symbolic language, a framework of mind obeying the principles of natural law, logical inference, the law of cause and effect, mathematical modeling, and building the concept. This study took the population of all class X students of SMAN 1 Daha Utara. The sample for this study took 98 students randomly from six classes, namely classes X1-X6. This study uses data analysis techniques that are carried out by categorizing test results based on low, medium, and high categories. Based on the results of this study, it appears that students' generic science skills are included in the high category.

Abstract

Researches on the development of teaching materials in universities in the learning process to Improving higher-order thinking in plant Botany courses based on local materials are currently very necessary. Various forms of teaching materials were developed to Improving critical thinking skills. One of them is a popular scientific book.  This study aims to test the practicality of the popular scientific book (BIP) Botany of Swamp Plants in improving students' critical thinking skills in studying Higher Plant Botany. The type of research was Research and Development (R&D). The research subjects were 13 students of the Biology Education Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University, with the object of research being BIP Botany of Swamp Plants. Practicality data was obtained based on the readability tests of three students, and 10 students. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the BIP Botany of Swamp Plants which was developed practically (very practical category) was used to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Pada umumnya rumah tinggal masyarakat Desa Pagatan Besar memiliki pekarangan yang ditumbuhi atau ditanami berbagai jenis tumbuhan. Namun, tumbuhan itu lebih difungsikan sebagai penghias pekarangan atau sekedar penghasil buah dan tidak untuk sumber obat. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait dengan pemanfaatan tumbuhan di pekarangan sebagai obat. Rangkaian selengkapnya pengabdian kepada masyarakat terdiri atas persiapan, pelaksanaan (penyuluhan), dan evaluasi. Penyuluhan dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif oleh dua orang fasilitator yang dibantu mahasiswa pendidikan biologi. Subjeknya adalah 25 anggota masyarakat Desa Pagatan Besar yang terdiri atas pemuda yang tergabung dalam Karang Taruna dan para ibu anggota PKK. Peserta antusias mengikuti penyuluhan. Pengetahuan mereka tentang tumbuhan obat meningkat signifikan. Nilai tes pra-penyuluhan adalah 36,36 atau terkategori kurang, sedangkan pasca-penyuluhan mencapai 90.91 (terkategori sangat baik). Counseling In The Framework Of Increasing The Knowledge Of The Pagatan Besar Village Community About The Use Of Medicinal Plants In general, the houses of the people of Pagatan Besar Village have yards that are overgrown or planted with various types of plants. However, these plants functioned more as garden decorations or just as fruit producers and not as a source of medicine. This community service aims to increase community knowledge related to the use of plants in the yard as medicine. The complete series of community service consists of preparation, implementation (counseling), and evaluation. Counseling was carried out collaboratively by two facilitators who were assisted by biology education students. The subjects were 25 members of the Pagatan Besar Village community consisting of youths who were members of Karang Taruna and mothers who were members of the PKK. Participants enthusiastically participated in the counseling. Their knowledge of medicinal plants increased significantly. The pre-counseling test score was 36.36 or in the less category, while the post-counseling score was 90.91 (very good category).

Abstract

Generic skills are part of learning skills that are applied to new and different situations, especially to certain principles of the learning process. Students' abilities improved due to changes in the process. Biology has complex concepts and problems that students must learn. Apart from that, many biological objects cannot be observed directly and are abstract. This research aims to analyze the mastery of generic science skills based on students' gender and class level so that the research results can be implemented in Biology learning. This research is descriptive research which uses a qualitative research method by taking data samples from questionnaires distributed to class XI and class X by taking samples in one class totaling 176 students. The sample is based on disproportionate stratified random sampling. It is known that the number of respondents who filled out the questionnaire based on class level was 76 people in class X and class Research shows that there is no difference in students' mastery of GSS based on gender, this can be seen from testing with Asymp scores. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.199. Apart from that, there is no difference in KGS mastery based on class level, this is reflected in Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.187, this indicates that generic science skills have the potential to be mastered before biology learning is carried out. Abstrak. Keterampilan generik merupakan bagian dari kecakapan pembelajaran yang diaplikasikan pada situasi baru dan berbeda terutama pada prinsip tertentu proses pembelajaran. Kemampuan peserta didik berkembang lantaran adanya perubahan proses tersebut. Biologi memiliki konsep dan permasalahan kompleks yang harus dipelajari oleh peserta didik. Selain itu banyak objek Biologi yang tidak dapat diamati secara langsung, bersifat abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengusaan Keterampilan generic sains berdasarkan jenis kelamin maupun tingkatan kelas peserta didik sehingga hasil penelitian dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran Biologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan mengambil sampel data hasil angket yang disebarkan ke kelas XI maupun kelas X dengan mengambil sampel dalam satu kelas yang berjumlah 176 peserta didik. Sample didasarkan melalui disproportionate stratified random sampling diketahui jumlah responden yang mengisi angket berdasarkan jenjang kelas 76 orang kelas X dan kelas XI berjumlah 100 orang, sedangkan proporsi pengisian data oleh laki-laki sebanyak 40 orang sedangkan perempuan 136 peserta didik. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan penguasaan KGS pada peserta didik didasarkan pada jenis kelamin hal ini terlihat dari pengujian dengan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0.199 selain itu tidak terdapat perbedaan penguasaan KGS didasarkan pada jenjang kelas hal ini tercermin dari Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0.187 hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa keteramapilan generic sains berpotensi untuk dikuasai terlebih dahulu sebelum dilaksanakan pembelajaran biologi. Kata kunci: keterampilan generik sains; pembelajaran biologi; jenis kelamin; jenjang kelas.

Abstract

The development of digital modules based on interesting generic science skills can be integrated in biology learning. Generic science skills (GSS) are related to skills through application and biological context. The factual and procedural knowledge obtained by students can be explored in the environmental pollution material because of various concepts and solve various real problems. This research is a descriptive study that explains the stages of digital module validation analysis based on generic science skills on environmental pollution for grade 10 high school students. Digital module validation test refers to five aspects such as (1) suitability of material, (2) presentation, (3) language, (4) generic science skills, and (5) visual/appearance. The subjects in the research at the initial review stage were three validators consisting of practitioners who are experts in learning biology and learning media. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the module developed as a whole is very valid in reference to aspects, namely the feasibility of the content aspect, the feasibility of the presentation aspect, the feasibility of the language aspect, the feasibility of the GSS aspect and the appearance, this shows that the digital module produced can be continued at the next stage.

Abstract

The lack of supporting information based on local potential is one of the factors contributing to the challenges of learning with the concept of diversity. One of the areas in Tanah Laut Regency that has a diversity of bird species has the potential to be used as additional reading material in the Animal Ecology course that focuses on the region. The area is Sari Embun Lake. Plomp's research and development methodology was used in this study. The handout creation process contains the following characteristics: visually appealing display that displays original pictures of research results, and the information discussed is data based on research results. The readability test results obtained a score of 88.79% with very good criteria, while the validation test results obtained a score of 3.67 with very valid criteria. This handout product is suitable for use as additional reading in the Animal Ecology course based on the results of the trial.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the suitability of "Sigeram" derived from the acronym "sistem gerak manusia” or human movement system to become an android-based interactive learning media for biology subjects. This study uses descriptive research with four stages, namely analysis, design, development, and validation. The data collection technique used a validity questionnaire. The validity test subjects consisted of three practitioners, including a teacher from Senior Hugh School 12 Banjarmasin and two lecturers from the study program of Biology Education, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. “Sigeram” application consists of some menus, including learning prerequisites, identity, learning implementation components, meeting schedule, concept map, then the material section, summary, glossary, quiz, bibliography, and profile. Additional features in the interactive media are the "Bio Info", "Let's Find Out", "Let's Discuss", "Act Creatively", "Habituation", "Reflection", and "Final Project". Testing the validity of "Sigeram" as an interactive media for learning Biology based on android showed a validity score of 4.29 with a very valid category, so that "Sigeram" can be used as an interactive media for learning biology, especially in human movement system topic.

Abstract

Most teachers agree to implement LMS for learning Biology, but some of them still have difficulties. Most of them thought that LMS helped reduce learning loss after pandemic covid-19. One of them is using a Learning Management system (LMS). CLDW (Culture Literacy Digital Wetland) is one of the innovations as a learning for students. CLDW helps students and teachers improve their activities during online learning, such as discussions. A flipped classroom with a learning management system Systems-based flipped classrooms produce positive learning. CLDW-Flipped Classroom was designed in two phases, namely: first phase; out-of-class was marked by students using CLDW as teaching materials, and second phase; in-class was marked by conducting face-to-face learning in class The research used quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The population of all students in 3 schools then consists of students in SMAN 4, SMAN 7, and MAN 2. The students are class X high school. Sampling was done by selecting two classes that were used as the control class and the experimental class. It is concluded that there is a significant effect on learning outcomes from integrating CLDW in the flipped classroom for learning biology. Overall, using CLDW-flipped classrooms has an effect on improving learning outcome. Flipped classrooms create effective classrooms through interaction with learners. Moving some aspects of the learning process to create extra time for active learning activities through teacher-led class discussions

Abstract

Abstrak : Pembelajaran sains dengan menggunakan pola divergen memberikan ruang untuk siswa mengembangkan ide dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran dengan pola berpikir divergen pada siswa homeschooling tingkat SD Pada mata pelajaran sains. Penelitian merupakan studi kasus pada salah satu kelas komunitas homeschooling di Banjarmasin. Adapun hasil penelitian adalah pembelajaran berpola divergen dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sains tingkat setara sekolah dasar dengan menerapkan model PBL. Adapun pola pembelajaran divergen dimunculkan dalam pertanyaan yang bersifat divergen dengan menghasilkan banyak ide dan jawaban bagi siswa. Abstract Science learning using divergent patterns provides space for students to develop ideas in learning. This study aims to describe learning with divergent thinking patterns in elementary school homeschooling students on science subjects. The research is a case study in one of the homeschooling community classes in Banjarmasin. The results of the study are divergent patterned learning that can be applied in science learning at the primary school level by applying the PBL model. The divergent learning patterns are raised in divergent questions by generating many ideas and answers for students..
