Abstract

Communication skills focus on the importance of speaking, writing, describing and explaining mathematical concepts. In achieving that success is by using cooperative learning model. This model is an effective teaching strategy in improving student achievement and socialization while contributed to their changing of attitudes and perceptions of the importance of learning and cooperation, including for their understanding of their peers from different ethnic backgrounds. This research was conducted at SD IT Faza Azkia Kelurahan Hutaraja, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatera Province. This research uses quasi experimental research method. This study aims to describe how to improve students 'mathematical communication skills before and after using cooperative learning model, and also to know the effectiveness of using cooperative learning model in improving students' mathematical communication ability. Based on the results of the study concluded there is an increase in the mathematical communication skills of students before and after using cooperative learning model. And the cooperative learning model is effective for teaching count number operations. This is shown by: the effectiveness of student learning activities, the ability of teachers in managing learning is effective, students 'responses to learning is positive and mastery of students' mathematical communication skills reach 100%.

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the affective aspects that must be considered and developed, especially in building student readiness in undergoing online learning in the current pandemic era. This study aims to analyze the confidence of mathematics education students in online learning in the era of the covid-19 pandemic. This research use descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were first semester students who took the Differential Calculus course in the Mathematics Education study program at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan for the 2021/2022 academic year. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire. The data obtained in this study were analyzed descriptively. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the indicators of student self-confidence in online learning in the era of the covid-19 pandemic have not fully achieved, but most of the indicators have mostly achieved self-confidence, namely the first indicator of believing in self-ability, most of them have achieved self-confidence. Students also have not fully met the second indicator, namely being able to act independently in making decisions. In the third indicator having a positive self-concept, most students have achieved this indicator. In the fourth indicator, namely daring to express opinions, almost some students have the courage to express opinions. To further increase student confidence, it is necessary to provide innovation in the implementation of online learning.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems. To solve this problem, the researchers used the ARIAS model. As for the purpose of this study is to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, increase student activity, improve teacher teaching abilities through the ARIAS learning model. This type of research is classroom action research. The results of the research the problem-solving ability of the first cycle was 56% and 88% in the second cycle increased by 32%. The level of student activity towards mathematics increased, this was obtained by a percentage of 62% in cycle I, and 85% in cycle II increased by 23%. The teacher's ability to manage to learn was 56% in cycle I and 94% in cycle II, with an increase of 38%. The author concluded that students 'mathematical problem-solving abilities, student learning activities, and teachers' ability to manage learning increased in class X MIA-1 SMA Negeri 1 Padang Bolak.

Abstract

Less optimal musical intelligence in students and improper application in mathematics learning is the basis for the preparation of articles. The misunderstanding of applying musical intelligence is quite alarming, for example when students learn to listen to music, they actually don't use their musical intelligence to learn or change their behavior. In this condition, music has a role in arousing motivation, memory and reflexes to learn, not using musical intelligence to learn. The preparation of this article uses the literature review method with the keywords musical intelligence (musical intelligence), learning and learning mathematics in books and journals indexed by Googles choolar. The application of musical intelligence in mathematics learning requires careful consideration and expertise in designing learning to be carried out. Some examples of using musical intelligence in learning mathematics include converting notes into numbers, solving math problems related to scales, designing memorization of mathematical formulas in the form of chants that are fun for students.

Abstract

The results of the Program for International Students Assessment (PISA) state that the mathematical ability of students in Indonesia is ranked low when compared to students in other countries and in industrialized countries. Despite the fact that mathematics is known for its challenges, many students are less enthusiastic about the subject, but some students also enjoy math. Students in the classroom have a variety of characters, attitudes, and traits. To help children develop into good students, teachers must be able to understand and shape their character. Information on the RME learning model with character education and students' mathematical literacy skills at SDN 115492 Mampang is the objectives of this research. Surveys and various literature studies were use in the implementation of this research. Research findings reveal that students still struggle to relate their skills to various social problems, math problems, and apply mathematical concepts. The model used has not succeeded in stimulating mathematical literacy. In addition, teachers have not fully incorporated character education values into mathematics learning. The learning model (RME) can be used as a learning model that will improve character education and improve students' mathematical literacy while they are learning mathematics. Keywords: Learning, Realistic Mhatematics Education (RME).

Abstract

The problem of this research is the low motivation of students to learn mathematics, the ability of teachers to manage learning, student learning activities are low. To overcome this problem, a Blended Learning learning strategy was applied. The purpose of this study was to increase students' motivation to learn mathematics, improve teacher performance in managing learning and improve student learning activities by implementing the Blended Learning learning model at SMA N 6 Padangsidimpuan. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects in this study were students of class X MIA 1 SMA N 6 Padangsidimpuan which consisted of 34 students. Data collection techniques are questionnaires and observations. Descriptive data analysis technique. The percentage of student questionnaire results in the first cycle was 50.15% to 89.97% in the second cycle and the increase in the percentage of student questionnaires was 39.82%. Student activity in learning increased, this was obtained from the percentage of 63.08% in the first cycle and 83.36% in the second cycle with an increase of 26.89%. Teacher performance activities increased with the acquisition of a percentage of 54.27% in the first cycle to 83.36% in the second cycle with an increase of 29.9%. So this research stopped in cycle II . The results of this study show that the Blended Learning learning model can increase students' learning motivation, can improve teacher performance and increase student learning activities at SMA N 6 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the role of ethnomatematics based on traditional crank game in increasing the ability of students to understand mathematical concepts at SD Muhammadiyah Sipirok and their responses to learning. This type of research is qualitative research. The learning model developed is a type of traditional game where elementary school students will be more enthusiastic about learning mathematics, especially in flat shape material where the concepts used will improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts. From the results of the analysis of observations during the learning process and the results of interviews conducted by comparing the tcount and ttable values that the calculated value is greater than the table value and the results of the questionnaire students' responses to learning with the use of ethnomatematics based on traditional crank games are already in the very happy category because each None of the students scored 30 below or obtained half the expected maximum score of 60 where all students were above 30. The results of the research will be the type of flat shape in the crank game, the problem of the suitability of the crank game with the flat shape material and its understanding, the flat shape is used as contextual learning.

Abstract

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, teachers and children (students) have had to undergo an educational transformation that suddenly forced them to embrace digital learning to support online teaching. In the context of mathematics, teachers can use interactive media as a digital device that can trigger active, fun math understanding for early childhood. The purpose of this study was to see student acceptance during learning using interactive puzzle media. This research method is a qualitative method and literature study. The results showed that interactive puzzle media can improve the ability to recognize geometric shapes in early childhood. Because interactive puzzle media is a learning medium that can improve aspects of early childhood development, when using interactive puzzle media children do not feel they are learning but they are playing and by using interactive puzzle media children's learning activities become more fun so children are more interested in learning. follow the learning and the learning outcomes obtained will be better.
