Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discussed about the spatial in the Library of Polytechnic State of Padang. The data collected through observation, interviews, and literature study with librarians in the Polytechnic State of Padang. Analyzing data is done descriptively. Based on analyzing the data, summarized the following matters. First, the Polytechnic State of Padang do not yet have their own building, but still use one of the existing political buildings. Second, the reading table does not have a diving wall, this couses distored reader concentration to read the collection in the library. Third, the Polytechnic State of Padang does not have the library materials processing room, due to limited building area then the library materials processing room does not exist, so the librarians rocess the library materials in the circulation room. This can interfere with the convenience and concentration of librarians in the library. Fourth, the limitations of the building area resulted in the conservation and preservation space not exist. Therefore, the librarian use the circulation  room and the staff work desk in the care of library materials.Keywords: library, spatial, Polytechnic State of Padang.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to describe how to set up the archive and know the constraints faced in structuring archives in the Field Placement and Workforce Development Department of Transmigration and Manpower of West Sumatra. The method used is descriptive method is the technique of collecting data through direct observation or observation, and interviews with the archivist Field Placement and Workforce Development Department of Transmigration and Manpower of West Sumatra. How to setup the files used in the Field Placement and Transmigration Department of Workforce Development and Employment West Sumatra is the arrangement of files by type of letter, the obstacles encountered in the arrangement is inadequate infrastructure in the field of archives such as filing cabinets, filing cabinets, and a special room for structuring the archive. Abstract

This paper focuses on the role of librarians in motivating students to use the library of Tamansiswa SMK Padang. This study aims to: (1) find out what is being done and by school side also the of librarian Tamansiswa SMK Padang motivate the students to use the library and, (2) to determine what obstacles faced in motivating students use the library. The analyzing of data has been done by descriptive way. Based on the analyzing of data, it was concluded as follows. First, the efforts were made by ​​librarians in motivating students use the library are: (1) librarians conduct library-related activities such as holding a short story writing competition for students, (2) the librarian launce the guidance on the function of the library for the student, (3) librarians provide prizes to students who often use the library, which adds to the period of borrowing books for students. Second, the constraints faced by librarians in motivating students use the library are: (1) the lack of means of promotion in the library of Tamansiswa SMK Padang, (2) donations, (3) lack of cooperation between the school and the foundation, (4) lack of librarians skill; (5) the students interest in reading are weak.   Keywords: librarian; motivate students to use library

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe: (1) The circulation service system which use by SMK Tamansiswa Padang’s library, (2)The obstacle which faced by librarian at SMK Tamansiswa. Data were collected through observation and interviews with staff librarian at SMK Padang Tamansiswa. Analyzing the data can be describe. The study's findings are circulation services at SMK PadangTamansiswa using an open service system (open access system), the problems encountered in service at the library circulation Tamansiswa SMK Padang is on (1) laboris not background librarians with library science so less able to carry out their duties, (2) The library userless motivated to visit the library so teachers make classroom learning in the library.Keywords: library service; circulation

Abstract

This paper focuses on formulating the problem , namely , (1) the author of the most widely cited by students of Library and Information Science Archives . (2) library materials most widely cited by students of Library and Information Science Archives . (3) the subject of the most written by students of Library and Information Science Archives . This research method is descriptive in this study illustrate the types of literature and the literature cited dominant . This study uses the entire population Prodi Final IIPK years 2010-2012 a total of 147 papers . Data collection methods used in this research is a method of citation analysis . In this study, the data used is citation citation contained in the bibliography of each paper , which will be created for the table . Based on the data analysis we can conclude (1) the author of the most widely cited is Sulistyo - basuki the number of citations 147 pieces were taken first rank . (2) library materials are frequently cited by the number of books a student is 1,708 pieces citation needed in the first rank . (3) on the subject of the most widely cited is the processing of library materials by the number of citations 29 pieces are in the first rank are written by students Prodi IIPK.

Abstract

This paper discussed about records management system in the Procurement Unit of Project Indarung VI of PT Semen Padang. This paper aims to: (1) describe the records management in the Procurement Unit; (2) describe the utilization implementation Procurement Activity and Progress Information in the records management; (3) describe the efforts made to overcome the constraints of the application utilization Procurement Activity and Progress Information in records management. Based on data analysis can be concluded that the management of the archive in the Procurement Unitis still not in accordance with the provisions and rules of good records management. It can be seen from the various obstacles encountered in records management and retrieval of archives as well as the constraints experienced by users in records management using the application Procurement Activity and Progress Information like error and not maximum features available in this application. Archive management in this unit is also more emphasis on the management is electronic compared to manually archive management, management of this kind makes the archive to be neglected. To overcome the problem that occurred in the management of problem-solving efforts should be made to be formulated together.Keywords : Record Management, Procurement Unit

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article are: (1) describe how the strategy of excellent service in the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, (2) describe any obstacles countered in achieving excellent service in he Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation of Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The method use disqualitative approach. Collection of data through observation, interviews, and library research. Observations directly to the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation of Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Based on analyzing the data can be summarized as follows. (1) strategies to realize excellent service in the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation of Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan of identifying primary determination of quality service, manage ekspentasi customers, managing service quality evidence, educating consumers about the services, fostera culture of quality, follow up services, and develop information systems quality of service, (2) the constraints faced in the Office of Libraries, Archives, and Documentation in the Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan realization excellent service strategy that is not the realization of automating quality. Abstract

The purposes of this article are to describe about: the design of database records retention schedule in depreciation archives with the use of Microsoft Access at the Faculty of Economics, University of Padang. The method used in this paper is descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature at the Faculty of Economics, University of Padang. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that: (1) a general description of the archive in the depreciation schedule retenasi archives with the use of Microsoft Access at the Faculty of Economics, University of Padang as follows: Invitation Letter archive list, Snail Mail, Mail Important, SK. Rector, SK. Dean, Rector's Report, Report of the Dean, Employee Performance Report, Report of Activities, Academic Handbook, Handbook for Student Activities, Books Graduation, MOU (agreement / MoU), MOA (agreement), SK. Establishment of the Faculty, and SK. Establishment Program stored in the room administration; (2) the design process database retention schedule archives in depreciation archives with the use of Microsoft Access at the Faculty of Economics, University of Padang as follows: run Microsoft Access, create a table in Microsoft Access, queries, forms, reports and swithboard on Microsoft Access as the final display or The main menu database records retention schedule.Keyword: database, electronic archive.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to describe: 1) evaluation of reference services; (2) determine the obstacles encountered in implementing the evaluation of reference services; and (3) determine the efforts to overcome obstacles encountered in the evaluation of reference services at Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Data collected by observation and interviews with librarians and user library in Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Data analysis was done descriptive. Based on the results of the research, concluded as follows: (1) evaluation conducted by the reference services of Library and Archives routine yet, so there are still shortcomings in service; (2) there are still obstacles encountered in implementing the evaluation of reference services, so that the service provided is not maximized; and (3) efforts to be made by Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sumatera Barat in overcoming these obstacles. Abstract

This paper aims to describe the preparation of an annotated bibliography series of children's literature reading library collections Department of Language and Literature Indonesia Region Padang State University.The method used is descriptive method. Data collected by observation or observation. Observations were made directly browse the collection of literature reading series at the Library of the Department of English Literature Indonesia and the region. Once obtained, selanjutkan to identify the parts that will be created for the annotated bibliography. The results obtained in the direct observation, the number of collections of literary reading series at the Library of the Department of Language and Literature Indonesia Region Padang State University has 590 readings series, but this paper is only 10% percent are 59 collections of literary reading series.Based on the discussion can be concluded the stage of making annotated bibliography of literature reading series are as follows. First, the determination of children's literature reading series title. Second, the collection of library material by recording the bibliographic data such as the author's name, title of a series of literary readings, Impresum, as well as other information such as the number to call. Third, the selection of library materials be selected on the entire collection of literary reading series by splitting a series of readings alphabetically. Fourth, grouping or classification annotated bibliography of literature reading series are grouped by classification fundamentals that classify library materials based on the content or subject matter. Fifth, the keyword generation. Sixth, penyusanan index. Seventh, typing the manuscript biliografi contain elements such as writing an author's name, title of a series of readings, Impresum and other information required in making an annotated bibliography.Keyword: art, bibliography, reading.
