Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan dan menyimpulkan bahwa eksistensi pengajaranmembaca teks naratif bagi siswa SMA dengan menggunakan strategi yangbervariasi telah menyentuh area substantif. Paired Annotation dan One Tray TwoStray, dua strategi pembelajaraan kooperatif telah merekonstruksi pengajaranindividual yang selama ini diaplikasikan di sekolah-sekolah. Menurut beberapaahli, belajar secara berpasangan (Paired Annotation) dan berkelompok (One StayTwo Stray) juga menawarkan outcome yang berbeda ditilik dari kemampuan awalyang dimiliki siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruhstrategi pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal terhadap hasil belajar BahasaInggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain faktorial2x2 dan dilakukan di SMAN 1 Kampar, Riau dengan sampel sebanyak 64 siswa.Hasil penelitian ini adalah; (1) Hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa yang diajardengan strategi pembelajaran Paired Annotation sama dengan siswa yang diajardengan strategi One Stay Two Stray; (2) Untuk siswa yang memiliki kemampuanawal rendah, hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa yang diajar dengan strategipembelajaran Paired Annotation sama dengan yang diajar dengan strategipembelajaran One Stay Two Stray; (3) Untuk siswa yang memiliki kemampuanawal rendah, hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa yang diajar dengan strategipembelajaran One Stay Two Stray sama dengan yang diajar dengan strategipembelajaran Paired Annotation; (4) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara strategipembelajaran dan kemampuan awal terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out and explain idiom that there in avril lavigne’s song lyrics in album let go 2002. This research is about descriptive qualitative, in which has purpose to make description about idiom that there in avril lavigne song lyrics. This research was done with steps in collecting the data that is by accessing to the internet, searching the song lyrics, reading and finding the idiom. Then, the data was taken with using mcgraw-hills dictionary, oxford dictionary of idioms and make the conclusion. Thus, can be concluded that there are 56 idioms was found and most of them have contextual.

Abstract

This research about reading speed students. The population of this research was 119 students. Thesamples in this research were 27 students. Researcher used cluster random sampling/random to takesamples that focus on one class. The instrument in this research is reading test. Based on a readingspeed skills test, the average speed of reading students, 2 students were able to reach 100-149 WPM inslow category and 25 other students are only able to achieve 50-99 WPM in very slow category. So,the skill of reading speed students at VIII grade in SMPN 1 Rambah Samo was very slow

Abstract

This research reports on an analysis of the students’ writing skill in descriptive text ofthe second year students at SMPN 2 Bangun Purba and also to find out the factors affect it. Thisstudy employed a descriptive research as the research design. This study involved a class ofsecond year students as the sample of the research. The data were collected through writing test.Then, the data were analysed based on their writing test score which were categorized into fivelevels of writing skill (Harris, 1969) and two organization structures of descriptive text(Identification and description) as the indicators to see the students’ writing skill in descriptivetext. The findings of the study show some points. The first point is that, generally, the students’mean score of writing skill particularly in writing descriptive text was 56 and it was consideredas the average level of skill. The second is that there are two factors affect the students’ writingskill. They are related to (1) the components of writing (grammar, vocabulary, mechanics, style,organization) and (2) the organization structure of descriptive text (identification anddescription).

Abstract

The purpose of this research Intention of this research were ( 1) to know was communications of throughdialoguing could improved ability converse student in english and ( 2) to know how applying from the techniquecan improve the ability of students’ speaking. This research carried out in SMA Muhammadiyah whererespondent from this research were students of class of XI 2 as control class (24 student) and XI 1 as experimentclass ( 22 student). Invention indicate that there was important effect between instruction of oration withdialogue technique. That was visible from value t0 ( t-test)= 74.5000 bigger than tt(ttable) 5%= 2,00 with use ttest.That was inferential that there was effect influence speaking of students through dialogue technique

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to see whether there is a correlation between past tensemastery and students’ translating narrative text at grade eleventh of SMA N 3 Rambah Hilir. Thisresearch was quantitatif research in which aid to describe about an objective situation. This researchhad two variables, Variable X ( past tense mastery) and variable Y ( translating narrative text skill).Based on the analyzed of the data it can be concluded there was a low correlation between past tensemastery and students’ translating narrative text skill at grade Eleventh of SMA N 3 Rambah Hilir. Thecorrelation of “rxy” product moment was 0,137.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was toknow the skill of the second grade students ofSMAN 1 Bangun Purba of students’ skill in usingdegree of comparison. The participant of thisresearch weresecond grade students of SMAN 1Bnagun Purba Kabupaten Rokan Hulu. consists of25 students. The kind of sample is “total sampling”and it had been taken all of the population. Theresearch was descriptive qualitative research. Theresult of this research showed that the skill ofsecond grade students of SMAN 1 Bangun Purbawas 59,4 or in fair category. While for studentsskill in using postive degree of comparison was74,4 or in good category, while students skill inusing comparative degree was 56,36 or in faircategory, and students skill in using superlativedegree was 48,58 or in fair category.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out students speaking skill. Speaking is one of the some skills among listening, writing, reading.This research used descriptive qualitative research design.where the writer described and analyzed the students’ errors in speaking skill. The population of this research was taken from the second grade students’ at Smp 8 Rambah Hilir in Rambah Hilir district is about 21 students.Based on the result, the writer concludes that the second grade students’ of SMP 8 in Rambah Hilir district year 2014/2015 in speaking were good in speaking skill. The result of the analysis showed that 67% out of 21 students have good speaking ability, 33 % of 21 students had average to good speaking ability. No students were in poor to average and poor level ability. The conclusion is the students’ speaking skill is good.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to find out the effect of cubing technique in students’writing skill of analytical exposition text. The findings showed that there is significant effectbetween teaching analyrical exposition text with using cubing technique. It can be seen of thevalue of t0(thitung) = 7,183 is bigger than tt(ttable) with significance 5%= 2,00 by using cubingtechnique..

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to find out students’ reading comprehension on narrative text taught byusing Story Impression strategy and taught without using Story Impression strategy and to find out whetherthere was a significant effect of using Story Impression strategy toward reading comprehension of narrative textat the second year students at SMA Muhammadiyah Rambah. This research was an experimental research, thedesign of research was pre-test – post-test. The result of this research in post-test experimental group 22students got 95.7% ( good to excellent ). While in post-test control group 3 students got 11.5% ( good toexcellent ).
