Abstract

This study is required by students to understand directly the circulatory system in humans with the three dimensional tools of human circulatory system. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of three dimensional tools on science process skills of human circulatory system on circulation process material of senior high school students. The design of this study used was pretest-posttest control group design, in this design, there were two groups selected at random, then given pretest and postes. The study was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya. The period of this study was July 2014 - April 2015. The sample of the study was the students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya in XI class on the first semester, as many as two classes of experimental class and control class with the number of control class students was 29 students, experimental class was 21 students. Data collection was tested with multiple choice questions to measure students’ learning outcomes, observation sheet to measure students' science process skill and using N gain then analyzed by t test. The results showed that the three dimensional tools of human circulatory system has a very significant effect on the improvement of science process skills with the most dominant indicator is in the observation. Based on the result of the study can be concluded that the use of three dimensional tools of human circulatory system can improve the science process skills of senior high school students.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know and identify how many weed seeds that can grow to the planting media and how much its growth on the planting media of peat soil after it was given prior by dolomite lime before it is used for cultivation of horticultural crops. This study was carried out for 4 (four) months in June-September 2015 in Experimental Garden of Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya University at Jalan Anggrek, Village of Kereng Bangkirai, District of Sabangau, the City of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan Province. The treatment factors were tested by using a completely randomized design with 9 replicates the form of dolomite lime (D) to the planting media peat soil that consists of 4 levels: D0 = 0 ton/ha; D1 = 3 tons/ha; D2 = 6 tons/ha; and D3 = 9 tons/ha. The observations were made on the number of weeds, the weight of wet weed that grows and the weight of dry weeds that grow during 14 days since the beginning of the incubation period of the planting media. The data were analyzed by using analysis of variance (F test) at the level of α = 0.05 and 0.01, and continued by using Fair Significant Difference Test at the 0.05 level.

Abstract

Cultivation of chili is a farming activity promising an interesting profits and the market demand for the chili is high. Many chili farmers in controlling pests use chemical pesticides because it is considered more efficient and fast, actually the chemical pesticides do not kill insects’ pests, but it creates a new form of defense for insects’ pests. In another effort to find alternative pesticides are expected to be more lenient, then developing the manufacture of pesticides made from natural materials exist around the neighborhood, known by name "botanical pesticide" or "organic pesticide", because of almost all the ingredients derived from plants. The purpose of this study was to control brown leaves insects’ pests on chili by using citronella extract. The time in doing this study was as long as from October to November 2016. The study was done on Jl. Meranti IV Panarung Village, District Pahandut, the city of Palangka Raya. From the results of the experiment of several concentration of extract of citronella 25 ml, 50 ml and 75 ml and 100 ml mixed with clean water for pest control of brown leaves insect on the chili, factually, by using concentration of citronella extract of 75 ml and 100 ml mixed with clean water, it can be reducing brown leaves insects’ pest.

Abstract

Learning by using aids will greatly help students understand the concepts contained in learning materials. The aid in learning circulation of blood is very needed by students to understand directly the blood circulatory system in humans. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the three-dimensional visual aids in learning outcomes of material human blood circulatory system on high school students. The method used in this study was pretest-posttest control group design, in this design, there were two groups of randomly selected, and then the groups given a pretest to determine the initial condition is the difference between the experimental group and the control group. This study was conducted in period from April to May 2015. The sample of this study was the students of class XI in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palangka Raya in odd semestre. The study was taken two classes, namely as an experimental class and control class. The number of the students of control class was 29 students, and for experiments class was 21 students. The data collected by a test with the form of multiple choice questions to measure student learning outcomes. The result of this study showed that the three-dimensional aids in learning human blood circulatory system had significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes, based on t-test using SPSS software version 16.0. So, it can be concluded that the use of the three-dimensional aids in learning human circulatory system will improve the students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know and find the growth potency on the seeds germination and seedling growth of Morinda plant from seed on the kind of plant media composition from March to June 2014 in Panarung, Palangka Raya. This experiment used single treatment with randomized complete design, each treatment was repeated ten times. The treatment consist of single factor is kind of plant media composition in five mixture composition and ratio : s1 = mixture of mineral soil + peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1:1), s2 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s3 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:0,5:0,5), s4 = mixture of mineral soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1), and s5 = mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1). Variable response of this research is a time of germination, the percentage of seeding, height of the plant, number of leaves, the diameter of the stem, and leaf area on 12 weeks after seeding. The experiment resulted, showed that plant media composition is very significant to high plant and leaf area seeding of morinda, but not significant to a number of leaf and diameter of stem on 12 weeks after seeding. Plant media composition that mixture of peat soil + ash + organic fertilizer (1:1:1) is the best treatment to support germination and increase seedling growth.
