Abstract

The chemical scrabble game is a variety of learning media in doing practices. This type of research is Research and Development (R and D) with a 4-D model. This research is up to the developing stage with validity and practicality tests. The instrument used was a validity and practicality questionnaire. The validity test was carried out by five validators, while the practicality test was carried out by two chemistry teachers and 20 class XII students. The data analysis techniques used were the Aiken V formula and descriptive statistics. The results of the data analysis show that the chemical scrabble media has a validity of 0.81 showing a valid category, the practicality of the teacher is 89.93 percent belonging to a very practical category and the practicality of students is 83.80 percent belonging to a very practical category, so that the availability of the developed thermochemical scrabble game chemicals can be used as a medium of learning.

Abstract

The research has created the module of mole concept based on structured inquiry with interconnection of multiple representation and determined the validity and practicality of the module. The research type was Research and Development (R&D). The development model was 4-D models that consist of four steps: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research was limited on develop step. The instrument of the research was questionnaire form that consist of validity and practicality sheets. The module was validated by 5 validators. Practicality module was tested by 2 chemistry teachers and 28 students of grade XI MIA 5 at SMAN 4 of Padang. Validity and practicality data were analysed by using the kappa Cohen formula. The moment kappa average of 5 validators was 0,95 with highest validity category. The moment kappa average of teachers and students were 0,89 and 0,91 praticality with high category. The result of the research showed that the module of mole concept based on structured inquiry with interconnection of macro, submicro, and symbolic representation was valid and practice to be used on the learning chemistry

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum recommends scientific approach in learning and expects students to be skilled in using ICT. The research aim to develop a chemical equilibrium e-module based on scientific approach for XI SMA/ MA class and to determine validity and practicality level. This research is Research and Development (R&D) with 4-D model. Validity test was done by 3 chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP, 1 multimedia lecturer at FT UNP, 2 chemistry teachers at SMAN 1 Pariaman and 1 chemistry teacher at SMAN 7 Padang. Practicality test was done by 2 chemistry teachers at SMAN 1 Pariaman, 1 chemistry teacher at SMAN 7 Padang and 30 XII MIPA 7 SMAN 1 Pariaman students. The instrument was validity and practical questionnaire and data was analyzed by Cohen Kappa formula. This study produced a chemical equilibrium e-module based on scientific approach with an average kappa moments 0,81 which is very high level of validity. The results of the teacher practicality test and the students practicality test obtained an average of kappa moments in a sequence of 0,85 and 0,84 with a very high level of practicality Keywords: e-module, scientific approach, 4-D models, chemical equilibrium

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat penuntun praktikum sederhana bagi siswa sekolah menengah atas dan menentukan tingkat validitas, kepraktisan dan efektif dari penuntun praktikum tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research dan Development (R&D). Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model Plomp yang terdiri dari tiga tahap: penelitian pendahuluan, tahap prototipe, dan tahap penilaian. Instrumen penelitian adalah kuesioner validitas, kepraktisan dan efektifitas. Panduan Praktis alternatif berbasis lingkungan divalidasi oleh 4 orang validator dan diuji kepada 17 siswa kelas XII IPA 3 SMAN 2 Bayang dan 29 siswa kelas XI IPA 4 SMAN 1 Batang Kapas tahun akademik 2017/2018. Data validitas, kepraktisan dan efektif dianalisis dengan rumus Kappa Cohen. Momen kappa validitas adalah 0,79 dengan kategori validitas tinggi. Tingkat kepraktisan kuesioner respon guru diperoleh dengan nilai 0,84 dengan kategori kepraktisan tertinggi. Berdasarkan kuesioner respon siswa, nilai momen kappa adalah 0,77 pada SMAN 2 Bayang dan 0,90 pada SMAN 1 Batang Kapas dengan kategori kepraktisan tinggi untuk uji kelompok kecil, dan nilai momen kappa adalah 0,81 pada SMAN 2 Bayang dan 0,84 di SMAN 1 Batang Kapas dengan kategori kepraktisan tertinggi dalam uji lapangan. Tingkat efektivitas kuesioner respon guru diperoleh nilai 0,89 dengan tingkat efektivitas yang sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan kuesioner respon siswa, nilai momen kappa adalah 0,76 dengan kategori efektifitas tinggi. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penuntun alternatif berbasis panduan praktis bagi siswa SMA memiliki kategori validitas tinggi, kategori kepraktisan tertinggi, kategori efektifitas tinggi dari siswa dan efektivitas tertinggi dari guru.

Abstract

The chemistry domino card game is one of learning media variations is useful for strengthening colloid system material for students. The purpose of this Research is determine the level of validity based on the function of the media. The type of this research used is Research and Development (R and D) which uses a 4-D development model, that consist of some stages namely the define, design, develop, and disseminate stage. Validation questionnaire were given to UNP chemistry lecturer and chemistry teacher at SMAN 1 Bonjol. The data analysis technique used Aikens V. The result of data analysis showed that the chemical domino card game as a learning media for colloid system material had a validity level of 0,89 with valid criteria. The result showed that the chemical domino card game developed was a valid.

Abstract

Mesoporous silica is a silica solid with pores between 2-50 nm which can be used in the fields of adsorption, medicine, catalyst synthesis, material purification and stationary phase for chromatography. Mesoporous silica is generally synthesized using TEOS or TMOS, but these precursors are relatively expensive. Na2SiO3 is a precursor of mesoporous silica which is more economical and easy to obtain. Basic materials that contain a lot of silica such as chert can be synthesized into Na2SiO3. Mesoporous silica synthesis generally uses surfactants as templates for the polymerization of silica, therefore a cosolvent is needed that can act as a crystal size enlarger by interacting with surfactants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of hexane on the synthesis of mesoporous silica symbolized by SM and SMH5. Mesoporous silica was synthesized using the sol-gel method with the basic ingredients of Na2SiO3 from chert, P104 as a surfactant, HCl as a solvent and n-hexane as an additive to increase crystal size. Mesoporous silica was characterized using XRD. The results of measurements using XRD showed that the X-ray difragtogram pattern showed peaks at an angle of 2ϴ = 22.29o and 25.33o for SM and SMH5 products, respectively.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effectiveness of Chemistry Scrabble (Chemscrabb) games as Instructional Media on Fundamental Laws of Chemistry to Students Learning Outcomes. This research is a research and development (RD) with designed by Posttest Only design, in which the design is based on the Thiagarajan technique. The research held on SMAN 10 Padang. Sampling selection was done by Random Cluster Sampling with the result that students of X-Science 2 as the experiment class and students of X-Science 4 as the control class. The data instruments used were a Post-test, questionnaire, and interview of two classes of the sample. The data analysis technique was a Hypothesis test by an Independent T-test sample. Based on Independent T-Test, the obtained tcount is 1.833, where the score is in the curve area, which means that accept H0 (there is no significant difference between the two samples). From the data, the research inference is that the utilization of Chemistry Scrabble (Chemscrabb) games as instructional media on Fundamental Laws of Chemistry for 10th-class sciences students is not effective for 10th-class sciences students' learning outcomes. However, students' activeness in the experiment class in the strengthening process (exercise) is higher than in the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to develop android-based learning media applications and determine the level of validity. This research was designed using the Plomp development model, which consists of 3 stages: the preliminary research stage, the development stage or prototyping, and the assessment stage. In this study, the authors limit the research carried out to the development stage or prototype, which produces prototype III. The development of this android-based application is expected to assist teachers in overcoming obstacles in making learning media and can be used as one of the learning media that can help students in learning, especially on the material of the periodic system of elements. Nine validators carried out the validation test of the learning media application: six content experts (Padang State University lecturers and teachers of SMAN 12 Padang) and three media experts (Lecturer of Engineering Padang State University). The data obtained from the validator was then analyzed using Aiken's V. The product validation test results had an index of 0.877 from content experts and 0.955 from media experts in the valid category. Thus, based on the validation test results, the Android-based learning media application on the developed periodic system material is valid.

Abstract

Abstract : Development of Android-Based Learning Media Applications on Atomic Structure Material for Class X SMA/MA. Android-based learning media application is one of the innovations in the world of education. This product was developed to meet the needs of teachers and students in learning. This study aims to develop an android-based learning media application on Atomic Structure material for class X SMA/MA that is valid and practical. This research is a development research which is carried out by using the Plomp development model which is limited to the prototyping phase for practicality testing in small group evaluations. The research was carried out at FMIPA UNP, FT UNP, and SMAN 8 Padang. Product validation is carried out by material experts and media experts. Product practicality assessment was carried out by 2 chemistry teachers and 12 students for small group trials. The validity analysis technique used the Aiken's V index and the practicality analysis technique used the percentage formula. The results showed that the developed Android-based learning media application was classified as valid (obtained an average value of V, namely 0.939 for material experts and 0.959 for media experts) and the practicality test results in small groups were classified as very practical (obtained a practicality percentage value of 94% for teacher practicality test and 93% for student practicality test).

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the quantitative relationship between structure and net atomic charge modeling activity of 21 5-aminopyrazole derivatives as antioxidants. This study aims to determine the value of the net atomic charge and obtain the best HKSA equation. The method used in this study is the semi-empirical method of Austin Model 1 with geometry optimization. The selection of the best equation model is done by statistical analysis using the method of correlation analysis and multiple regression with Backward to the calculated descriptor data. From the results of the study, it was found that model 1 as the HKSA equation model was chosen with the equation Log IC50 = Log IC50 = 1.648+(0.914*qN1)-(3.662*qN2)-(1.99*qC3)+( 0.004*qC4)+(1.052* qC5 )+(1.226*qN6) where n = 6 ; R = 0.724 ; R2 = 0.524 ; SE = 0.1462 ; Sig = 0.068 ; PRESS = 0.2994. This study shows that atomic charge plays an important role in enhancing antioxidant activity.
