Abstract

DSSC (Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell) is a type of third-generation solar cell based on dye as a photon absorber that has been widely used. In this study, modifications were made to tannin dyes to increase double bonds. Modifications were also carried out on the semiconductor by means of TiO2-CuO doping. TiO2-CuO doping can reduce the energy gap thereby increasing the TiO2 conductivity. The dyes were characterized using FTIR and GC-MS, while the TiO2-CuO doping was characterized using a UV-DRS Spectrophotometer. The results of FTIR characterization of poly tannin dyes have shown specific groups of polymerization of polytannin glutaraldehyde resin. The characterization of TiO2-CuO doping showed a decrease in the energy gap of 3,2 eV to 3,01 eV. The highest efficiency was produced at 90 minutes polymer time with a tannin monomer concentration of 0,4 M of 8,332%.

Abstract

Plastic is a polymer that we use a lot in everyday life, but it has a bad impact on the environment because it is difficult to degrade in nature. Therefore, a study was carried out to make plastic that is more environmentally friendly, namelyplastic Biodegradable that utilizes bacterial cellulose from Acetobacter xylinum with old coconut water as a medium with the addition of a plasticizer in the form of Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) and the addition of gum arabic additives with variations in the mass of gum arabic, namely 0g , 1g, 3g, 5g and 7g. The bacterial cellulose plastic PEG gum arabic produced was characterized includingwater content, degree ofswelling,testtensile strength, elongation, elasticity, ability biodegradation, functional group analysis (FTIR) and crystallinity test (XRD). The results of testing the water content and degree of swelling on PEG gum arabic bacterial cellulose plastic, obtained plastic with the more mass of gum arabic added, the greater the percentage of water content and degree of swelling. The results of mechanical testing showed an increase in the value of tensile strength and elasticity along with the amount of gum arabic added but the elongation value decreased. In the biodegradation test, it was found that the more gum arabic which was added, the biodegradation ability increased. The analysis of the plastic functional groups showed that there were no new groups formed. Crystallinity analysis showed that the addition of gum arabic can reduce the percentage of crystallinity.

Abstract

Permainan chemistry scrabble merupakan salah satu variasi dalam mengerjakan latihan untuk memantapkan konsep peserta didik pada materi hukum-hukum dasar kimia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan produk berupa permainan chemistry scrabble sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi hukum-hukum dasar kimia dan menentukan tingkat validitas dan praktikalitas media berdasarkan fungsi media dan ciri media praktis. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis Research and Development (R&D) dan menggunakan model 4-D. Penelitian ini dibatasi sampai tahap develop yaitu uji validitas dan praktikalitas. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket validitas dan angket praktikalitas. Uji validitas dilakukan oleh lima orang validator, sedangkan uji praktikalitas oleh dua orang guru kimia dan 20 orang peserta didik kelas XII. Teknik analisis data menggunakan formula momen Kappa Cohen. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan permainan chemscrabb memiliki validitas mencapai 0,81 yang berkategori sangat tinggi, praktikalitas guru sebesar 0,83 yang berkategori sangat tinggi serta praktikalitas peserta didik sebesar 0,81 yang berkategori sangat tinggi. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa permainan chemistry scrabble (chemscrabb) pada materi hukum-hukum dasar kimia yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan sebagai variasi media pembelajaran.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media permainan Chemmon menjadi media pembelajaran kimia terhadap hukum-hukum dasar kimia dan menentukan tingkat validitas serta praktikalitasnya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Research and Development (R&D) yang menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D, yaitu fase define, design, develop dan disseminate. Pengembangan permainan Chemmon terbatas pada fase develop dengan melakukan pengujian validitas dan praktikalitasnya. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket validasi dan angket praktikalitas. Validasi dilakukan oleh lima orang validator. Sementara itu, praktikalitas dilakukan oleh 20 orang peserta didik kelas XII dan dua orang guru kimia. Teknik analisa data menggunakan formula Kappa Cohen. Hasil uji validitas media memiliki momen kappa (k) dengan kategori tinggi yaitu 0,78. Untuk hasil uji kepraktisan momen kappa (k) media sebesar 0,78 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian permainan chemmon dikatakan valid dan praktis sebagai media pembelajaran kimia untuk mempelajari “hukum-hukum dasar kimia”.

Hasil uji validitas media memiliki Aiken’s V (V) dengan kategori valid yaitu 0,81. Untuk hasil uji kepraktisan % Praktikalitas (P) media sebesar 87% termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian permainan chemmon dikatakan valid dan praktis sebagai media pembelajaran kimia untuk mempelajari“hukum-hukum dasar kimia”.

Abstract

Permainan Chemistry Backgammon (Chemmon) merupakan media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan sebagai latihan untuk memantapkan konsep peserta didik terhadap materi sistem koloid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media permainan Chemmon sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi Sistem Koloid dan mengetahui validitas dan kepraktisannya berdasarkan fungsi media dan karakteristik media praktis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D yang terdiri dari tahap pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develop) dan penyebaran (disseminate). Penelitian ini dibatasi sampai tahap develop dengan melakukan uji validitas dan praktikalitas permainan Chemmon yang dikembangkan. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui angket validasi terhadap lima orang validator yaitu : dua orang dosen jurusan kimia FMIPA UNP, dua orang guru kimia SMAN 12 Padang dan satu orang guru kimia SMAN 3 Solok Selatan. Pengambilan data praktikalitas dilakukan menggunakan angket praktikalitas yang diperoleh dari dua orang guru kimia SMAN 3 Solok Selatan dan 20 orang peserta didik kelas XII SMAN 3 Solok Selatan. Peserta didik diminta untuk menggunakan permainan Chemistry Backgammon (Chemmon) dan mengisi angket praktikalitas. Teknik analisis data validitas menggunakan Aiken’s V diperoleh nilai rata-rata V sebesar 0,85 yang termasuk dalam kategori valid. Teknik analisis data praktikalitas guru menggunakan % Praktikalitas diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 84% dan praktikalitas peserta didik diperoleh sebesar 84% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa permainan Chemistry Backgammon (Chemmon) dikatakan valid dan praktis sebagai media pembelajaran kimia untuk mempelajari sistem koloid.Kata kunci : Chemistry Backgammon (Chemmon), Media Pembelajaran, Sistem Koloid, Research and Development (R&D), Model 4-D, Aiken’s V, % Praktikalitas

Abstract

IMPROVİNG THE PROFESSİONAL COMPETENCE OF MGMP CHEMİSTRY İN PASAMAN REGENCY AS STUDENT COACHES FACİNG THE NATİONAL SCİENCE OLYMPİAD (OSN). Teacher training for National Science Olympiad (OSN) coaches is carried out as an effort to improve the professional competence of the Pasaman Regency Chemistry MGMP to prepare students to take part in competitions at the district and provincial levels. The ability of teachers prior to participating in the training was identified using pre-tests originating from OSN questions for the last five years. The training was carried out through analysis of OSN-K (City/District Level) and OSN-P (Provincial Level) questions for the last 5 years in 5 groups, and each group made written discussions which were compiled into modules that could be used by the trainees to prepare students in their respective schools. After that, discussions on HOTS questions in the fields of Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry were given by the resource persons. At the end of the activity, a final test is given to see the effectiveness of the training. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed an increase in participants' understanding of 23.51. In addition, the response to the activity evaluation questionnaire obtained an average questionnaire of 3.47 (scale 4), which means that the training is in the good category.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a product in the form of an Android-based learning media application based on the mole concept material for class X SMA/MA that is valid and practical. The study uses the Plomp development research model, which consists of three steps: preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. This research is limited to the prototyping phase for the practicality stage of the small group evaluation. Three chemistry lecturers carried out the product validity test at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padang State University, two Al-istiqamah High School chemistry teachers as material experts, and two lecturers of informatics engineering at Padang State University as media experts. Fifteen students and two chemistry teachers carried out the practicality test. The validity data analysis technique uses Aiken's V index. The validity test results showed that the Android-based learning media application developed belongs to the valid category with an average V value of 0.86 for material experts and an average V value of 0.93 for media experts. The practicality data analysis technique uses a percentage formula. The results of the practicality test in small groups are classified as "very practical," with a practicality percentage value of 90% for students' practicality and a practicality percentage value of 92% for teachers' practicality. Based on the results of the validation and practicality tests, it was found that applying android-based learning media to the mole concept material was valid and practical.

Abstract

Reaction Rate is material that high school students study in class XI MIPA in odd semesters. In this material, as much as 77.64% of SMAN 16 Padang class XI MIPA students have yet to achieve the minimum criteria set. It indicates that students have learning difficulties. Learning difficulties are failures in achieving learning goals characterized by low learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the percentage of students who experience learning difficulties for each indicator on the material reaction rate and determine the factors that cause learning difficulties experienced by students in terms of learning methods. This research is a type of descriptive research. The sample for this research was students in class XI MIPA 3 at SMAN 16 Padang in the 2022/2023 academic year, which consisted of 36 people. The research instruments used were two-tier multiple-choice diagnostic tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis used is descriptive, namely analyzing and providing an understanding of the data in the form of numbers so that an overview can be given in an orderly, concise, and clear manner. The results of this study stated that students of SMAN 16 Padang experienced learning difficulties in tar material with a high category. The highest difficulty level is found in the 3rd indicator (Explaining the effect of surface area on the rate of reaction), which is equal to 83.33%. Learning difficulties experienced by students are caused by ineffective learning methods, such as making study schedules and carrying them out, reading and taking notes, repeating material, concentrating, and doing assignments.

Abstract

Thermochemistry is a material high school students study in class XI MIPA in odd semesters. In this material, 83.69% of SMAN 13 Padang class XI MIPA students still need to achieve the minimum completeness criteria set. It indicates that students have learning difficulties. Learning difficulties are failures to attain learning goals characterized by low learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the percentage of students who experience learning difficulties for each indicator on thermochemistry material and determine the factors that cause learning difficulties experienced by students in terms of learning methods. This research is a type of descriptive research. The sample for this research was students in class XI MIPA 6 at SMAN 13 Padang in the 2022/2023 academic year, which consisted of 34 people. The research instrument was a diagnostic test with four-tier multiple-choice questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis used is descriptive, namely analyzing and providing an understanding of the data in the form of numbers so that an overview can be given in an orderly, concise, and transparent manner. The results of this study stated that students of SMAN 13 Padang had difficulty learning thermochemistry material in the high category. The highest difficulty level is found in the sixth indicator (determining the ∆H value of the reaction through a calorimeter experiment), which is 90.20%. Meanwhile, the lowest level of learning difficulty for students is found in the first indicator (explaining differences in systems and environments in chemical reactions), which equals 42.16%. Learning difficulties experienced by students are caused by ineffective learning methods, such as not making a study schedule and not carrying it out, not reading and not taking notes, not repeating material, not concentrating, and not doing assignments.
