Abstract

The photodegradation activity of MgFe2O4 nanoparticles for Hg waste has been successfully performed. The MgFe2O4nanoparticles have been synthesized by the coprecipitation method. The obtained sample was characterized for their microstructural properties by using X-ray diffraction. The results confirmed that the sample was polycrystalline and has a spinel crystal structure with space group Fd3m.  The size of the crystallite is about 29.4 ± 0.2 nm. The gap energy of the sample was calculated from the UV-Vis results (4.17 eV). Furthermore, the MgFe2O4 nanoparticles can be used as functional photocatalyst material for degradation of mercury (Hg) ions in wastewater.

Abstract

Nanoparticle CoxNi1-xFe2O4 has been successfully synthesized using co-precipitation method at low temperature 120oC by variation of concentration value (x=0; 0.25; 0.5; 0.75; 1.0). Crystal structure and size of crystallite increase with increasing cobalt concentration. There is a difference of lattice between theoretical and experimental. Increase the cobalt concentration in CoxNi1-xFe2O4 nanoparticle affected to the bond length between cation-anion on tetrahedral site and octahedral site. Because of the distortion, the crystallite where imperfectly formed and crystal defect occurred. It is indicated by the microstrain value that describes the magnitude of the strain in crystal.

Abstract

The synthesis of MgxN1-xFe2O4/SiO2 composite nanoparticles, where x=0; 0.25; 0.5; 0.75; 1.0 through coprecipitation method and low temperatures had been successfully carried out. The result of X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) informed that the sample had crystalline forms and different crystallite sizes as the Mg concentration in the sample is increased. The sizes of crystallite produced were between 12.12 to 24.47 nm. In addition, theoretically and experimentally there were differences grid parameters with the energy bandgap of the nanocomposite sample ranged from 2.51 to 2.66 electron volt (eV). Therefore, the MgxN1-xFe2O4/SiO2composite nanoparticles could be referred to the nano-photocatalyst or nano-adsorbent for organic pollutant due to its potential to degrade Methylene Blue waste.

Abstract

Current-Voltage Characteristics of solar cells p-n junction ZnO and TiO2 parallel in the Cu2O layer has been determined using solar irradiation. Metal oxide has been used as a semiconductor material, such as ZnO and TiO2 is an n-type semiconductor. The material has a gap energy of 3.37 eV and 3.2 eV. Thermal oxidation is applied to commercial Cu plates for 60 minutes to produce Cu2O layers as p-type semiconductors. The process varies in temperature, namely 300, 400, and 500 °C. The process of thermal oxidation on Cu plates at a temperature of 300 °C increases the impurity in the Cu2O layer. The impurity layer is CuO. Then the CuO layer formed decreases with increasing temperature thermal oxidation. CuO layer increases the efficiency of solar cells p-n junction TiO2-ZnO parallel in the layer Cu2O. The results of measurements with sunlight showed that the TiO2-ZnO/Cu2O (300) samples had the highest solar cell efficiency, which was 0.28 %.

Abstract

There is an early flood detection tool that has been successfully designed called the Early Flood Detection (EFDe) a system that uses the Internet of Things system which can be accessed by the users through a browser or an Android smartphone. In general, this tool has an accurate sensor response to the water level reading by the sensor. The time needed for the sensor to send data to the server is 10-15 seconds. The speed of this delivery time is influenced by several factors, including sensor response, server response, and the cellular network used. The EFDe system is equipped with an alarm around the location and has 10-15 second response when the indicator shows FLOOD POTENTIAL and will not stop until the signal changed to SAFE. This EFDe System is equipped with a solar panel and solar control charger and has an independent energy source that comes from the sun and stored in batteries. That is why the EFDe system is able to send information in real-time.

Abstract

It has been successfully designed an Electronic Nose (e-Nose) instrumentation system consisting of 6 MQ gas sensors, namely, MQ2, MQ4, MQ5, MQ7, MQ9, MQ135. The E-nose system is used to identify halal-haram food. This E-Nose system uses an Arduino Nano microcontroller. The Graphic User Interface (GUI) system is built with Visual Studio 2008. Then, the data responses will be evaluated by using 2 patterns recognition methods called Principle Component Analysis (PCA). The classification results can be explained by the value of the score plot on the PCA of the data. PC1 accounts for 19% of the variance, and PC2 accounts for 5% of the variance, data obtained is stored and displayed on personal computers in Excel format. Each sample was tested for up to ten repetitions. The data obtained from the six sensors in the e-nose was processed using Minitab 18 and it was necessary to obtain classification data on lard, pig oil, and sample B, which were fried crackers using pork oil.

Abstract

This service activity aims to design fish dryers to help with the problems of the drying process in the rain, packaging repairs, and market expansion. This activity is conducted from September to October 2018 in collaboration with Ratama KUB. The results achieved were the design of a device called The Solar Powered Drier System, which has a capacity of 216 liters and a temperature of 50-70 degrees Celsius, and a market network has built with Arsala department store. Activities. The existence of SSPD equipment for cracker salted fish drying machines, does not provide a significant increase in production because the engine capacity is tiny. Packaging repairs can improve marketing in the surrounding area, namely East Aceh and the city of Langsa.

Abstract

Dunia saat ini tengah dikejutkan oleh wabah yang telah banyak memakan korban jiwa. Wabah tersebut disebabkan oleh sebuah virus yang bernama Corona atau biasa disebut Covid-19 ditemukan di kota Wuhan pada 31 Desember 2019. Indonesia sendiri hingga tanggal 20 april 2020 ada peningkatan sekitar 185 kasus baru yang terinfeksi corona, sehingga total menjadi 6.760 kasus positif, 590 orang meninggal dunia. Covid-19 ini tidak hanya berdampak negatif pada sektor kesehatan, sosial, maupun perekonomian, tetapi juga berdampak negatif pada aspek pendidikan. UNESCO mengemukakan bahwa pandemi corona ini mengancam 577 juta pelajar di dunia termasuk Indonesia, sehingga Mendikbud mengeluarkan surat edaran Nomor 4 tahun 2020 menyebutkan proses pembelajaran dapat dilakukan dari rumah melalui pembelajaran daring/jarak jauh. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang ditimbulkan, Tim PKM menawarkan solusi yaitu dengan merancang pembelajaran digital untuk siswa SMA kabupaten Aceh Tamiang di masa Pandemi Covid-19, yaitu pembelajaran daring berbasis web yang bernama “SEOL (SEkolah ONline) sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi masalah pembelajaran selama pandemi covid-19 ini.

Abstract

Kuala Geulumpang village is one of the villages in Julok subdistrict where most of the community is a business group that processes fish into cracker or known as pakang fish. One of the problems experienced by the business group is the drying process, especially in the rainy season which result decrease in the color quality and taste of pakang fish products. This service program aims to provide a solution for drying media that is not depend by weather conditions, namely a home dried system using an integrated solar panel media based on solar energy through solar cell and current batteries storage. This method has advantages compared with conventional methods are that are not affected by the weather, faster the drying process, minimizes fish damage caused by decaying so that the quality of the product is maintained and can be accepted by consumers on time. Through the application of fish dryer technology is expected to increase the production and quality of pakang fish produced by the community of Kuala Geulumpang Village so that it can improve the community's economy.

Abstract

UMKM  Rumoh Cicem merupakan salah satu UMKM yang fokus pada usaha pengolahan kerajian berbahan dasar limbah kayu. Limbah kayu ini diperoleh dari usaha-usaha pembuatan perabot rumah tanggal (usaha furniture). Produk yang dihasilkan oleh UMKM ini masih terbatas pada produk glodok (tempat bertelur burung) dengan menggunakan bahan dasar limbah kayu. Produk yang dihasilkan oleh UMKM masih monoton dan kurang kreatif sehingga memiliki nilai jual yang rendah di pasaran. Selain itu, produk glodok hanya diproduksi secara musiman tergantung dari permintaan pasar. Rendahnya kualitas produk berbahan dasar limbah kayu dari UMKM dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan dan kreativitas Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) yang dimiliki oleh UMKM. Keterampilan SDM ini sangat menentukan kualitas produk. Sentuhan kreativitas pada produk akan menghasilkan produk yang menarik, kreatif dan memiliki nilai jual tinggi. Untuk meningkatkan keterampilan UMKM maka dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan produk-produk kreatif berbahan dasar limbah kayu dan perluasan daerah pemasaran melalui sistem e-commerce. Tim PKM berharap dapat meningkatkan produksi dan kualitas serta inovasi produk kreatif berbahan dasar limbah kayu yang dihasilkan lebih bervariasi melalui transfer pengetahuan dan teknologi yang diberikan.
