Abstract

After successfully compiling a good career plan related to their professional work in the future, students are expected to realize these career plans successfully. For this reason, students need to be equipped with other abilities in the form of self-efficacy or the ability to believe that the efforts made will produce results and goals that are expected to be achieved. Therefore, through appropriate career counseling intervention, the self-efficacy of students in achieving an ideal career is expected to increase. This study aims to examine effectiveness of career counseling based on H.B Gelatt's decision theory to improve student self-efficacy in achieving an ideal career. This study uses quasi-experimental methods. The research subjects were third years students in UPI Serang. The research instrument used was a student self-efficacy scale and a daily reflective journal. Data analysis techniques used statistical testing in the form of percentages, central symptom measures, and two-tier test (t-test). The results showed that students' self-efficacy related to achieving an ideal career in general was in the medium category with a percentage of 50.72%. The counseling intervention program is based on the career decision making steps of Gelatt. Paired t-test results of pre-test and post-test of the experimental group showed that t arithmetic = 10.221 (greater) than t table = 2.401, testing was carried out at a = 0.05 and df = 39, meaning H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, there is a significant difference between self-efficacy related to achieving the ideal career of students who are members of the experimental group before and after receiving treatment. Decision-making skills in particular are very influential on improving the level dimension in student self-efficacy related to achieving an ideal career.

Abstract

During a pandemic period, learning assistance for children is really needed, because in the recent time, sometimes children were not optimal in carrying out learning because they do not directly interact with the teacher. In online learning situation, the role of parents is very much needed in guiding children to carry out learning from home. The problem was, there were still many parents who did not understand their role as substitute teachers at home and there are still many parents who did not employ technology or how to use online learning media to assist their children learning. Seeing the situation and potential loss of learning, the authors conducted a student learning assistance program and strengthened the role of parents in guiding children which was carried out at State Elementary School of Tangkolo which is located in Tirtaatmaja Street, Tangkolo RT 25 RW 10 Kabandungan Village, Kabandungan District, Sukabumi Regency. This community service aimed at achieving goals in online learning, as well as accompanying parents in guiding their children to learn from home. The implementation of this program was carried out through introduction and socialization, intensive online assistance for children and parental assistance. Through this activity, parents found it helpful to be able to take advantage of their role as a substitute for the teacher during this online learning and help to motivate children to achieve children's learning. This activity is expected to trigger parental sensitivity to their child's educational situation in the future

Abstract

When SD Laboratory UPI implemented Blended learning System at post period of covid pandemic, the students perform some learning problem symptoms. In order to prevent this, become wide spread, it is necessary to formulate a program to help students cope the problem. This research focuses on collecting empirical data of students' psychological conditions. It will be used as base in developing program. This study takes 30 respondents to implement the DCM and the ITP instrument. The data is processed by percentage techniques and statistical tests. The results exhibit the most problems experienced by students at social problems point and indicate the students at impulsive and protection level of development tasks with the lowest aspect at the "emotional maturity", "economic behavioral independence" and "awareness of responsibility". Thus the program is designed in the composition as following: basic services to develop emotional maturity, responsive services for students with low development and problem symptoms; individual planning services with a focus on further study career planning; as well as system support in the form of in-house training in the preparation of learning kits and guidance kits.
