Abstract

The skill of writing expository essays can be used as a medium to improve the use of good and appropriate language for elementary school students. This study describes errors in using effective sentences in exposition essays in the fifth grade of Kebon Dalem State Elementary School, which consists of using effective sentence structures, Subject-Verb-Object-Adverb form (SPOK) conjunctions, and punctuation marks. This study used a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research is the fifth grade of Kebon Dalem State Elementary School, with as many as seventeen students. The research instrument was used in the form of interviews and written documents in student expositions essays. The results showed that the student’s exposition essay writing was good because it was seen from the mistakes that students did not make. Disposition errors in the use of effective sentence as a whole: there are five higher errors in effective sentence structures, including SPOK, three higher errors in the use of conjunctions, and five higher errors in punctuation marks. The errors were assessed slightly because each student wrote three paragraphs and ten to twelve sentences. It shows that the types of mistakes in using effective sentences made by students in expository essays are still very diverse.

Abstract

Social studies is one of the subjects taught in elementary schools and is also a problem for students to understand the material that is in the social studies itself. The main problem that was found was how to learn it. The way of learning that is carried out by this social studies teacher always focuses on himself so that the ability or potential of the students is prevented from developing. In this problem, finally, there is a solution to be able to overcome this, one way is to use the Index card match and Card Sort learning strategies. This research was carried out employing a quantitative descriptive type of literature study or literature study in which data was obtained from scientific archive records, articles, journals, books, and the like then analyzed and the conclusions were sought which could be taken as data and which were not drawn. The results also show that the learning strategy Index card match and Card Sort are effective in social studies lessons in elementary schools. The use of Index card match and Card Sort learning strategies is also good and can be applied in all subjects in elementary schools and can improve student learning outcomes

Abstract

Understanding the content of reading text in elementary school can be helped by determining the element of paragraph. This study aims to determine of fourth grades at SDN Semanan 04 Pagi in determining the paragraph elements in the reading text. This study uses a qualitative approach using a qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects in this study were 21 students in grade IV. The research instrument used was in the form of tests and interviews conducted on students. This study obtained analysis results which stated that students' ability to determine paragraph elements in reading texts was quite good because on average students were able to find 3-4 paragraph elements correctly. The students’ ability in finding main sentences, explanatory sentences, and affirmative sentences on tests 1, 2, and 3 showed a fairly good ability, while students’ abilities in determining transitions on tests 1, 2, and 3 showed poor abilities. The factors that cause students’ difficulties in determining the elements of paragraphs are lack of understanding of the material, lazy to study, lack of interest and motivation in student learning, no self-motivation to learn, and lack of practice in understanding the meaning of reading texts

Abstract

Kegiatan belajar mengajar yang dilakukan di sekolah terpaksa dibatasi atau yang dikenal dengan Pembelajaran Tatap Muka Terbatas (PTMT). dengan pembelajaran yang dibatasi peserta didik dapat ikut kegiatan pembelajaran secara bergantian. Dalam Pembelajaran Tatap Muka Terbatas keterlibatan orang tua sangat dibutuhkan dalam mendampingi anak belajar. Studi ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterlibatan orang tua dalam pendampingan pembelajaran tatap muka terbatas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari 2 orang guru dan 11 orangtua murid di TK Negeri Pembina II Tangerang Selatan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan dari jawaban kuesioner peneliti kepada orang tua.

Abstract

Mathematics teaching process in kindergarten must adapt to the pandemic situation which require learning from distance. This research develops an Android-based application for learning mathematical concepts, named EduGame Maru, consisting of five types of games: recognizing numbers, algebra, statistics, geometry, and probability. This research aimed to create an interactive, innovative, and practical application as a digital medium. The method used in this research was the RD model, with 4D development (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The EduGame Maru application received a validation result of "very feasible for use," with 3.36 points from media expert validators and 3.64 points from material expert validators, so the average was 3.50. Meanwhile, during the testing at Kindergarten Labschool, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Serang Campus, EduGame Maru application got 3.56 points from the teacher's assessment. In this case, the EduGame Maru application did not only train cognitive abilities but also help children to understand early mathematical concepts by applying the NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) principles. Therefore, it can be concluded that EduGame Maru can help teachers and parents optimize the cognitive aspects of children aged 4-6 years, especially early mathematical concepts during online learning.

Abstract

Mengembangkan motorik halus pada anak usia dini di khususkan fokus pada pengordinasian otot-otot halus anak. Kegiatan menganyam kain flanel berbentuk ayam dengan lebar 20 cm dan panjang 15 cm. Bahan dan alat yang digunakan antara lain Kain flanel, mata boneka, lem tembak. Penilaian yang digunakan menggunakan teknik checklist. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena ingin mengetahui bagaimana penggembangkan motorik halus anak dengan melakukan suatu kegiatan yaitu melalui kegiatan menganyam menggunakan bahan flanel. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data dengan observasi secara langsung. Observasi dilaksanakan di Daerah Pandeglang Banten, sample dengan menggunakan 4 orang anak usia 5-6 tahun, hasil yang di dapat dengan observasi melalui kegiatan menganyam menggunakan kain flanel adalah sebanyak 4 anak terdapat 1 orang anak yang mulai berkembang dan 3 anak lainya berkembang sesuai harapan. dari ke 4 anak tersebut 3 anak sudah lihat menggunakan motorik halusnya dalam kegiatan menganyam, kegiatan menganyam ini dapat mengembangkan aspek motorik halus anak di usia 5-6 tahun.

Abstract

Sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013, guru dituntut untuk memahami karakteristik peserta didik dari berbagai aspek. Konsep Multiple Intelligence (MI) seyogyanya harus menjadi bagian dari pembelajaran. Oleh sebab itu, untuk mengembangkan kapasistas guru dalam merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran berbasis MI perlu dilakukan tindak lanjut berupa workshop. Adapun tujuan dari diselenggarakannya workshop ini adalah melahirkan model pelatihan bagi pengembangan kapasitas guru sekolah dasar melalui workshop pembelajaran berbasis Multiple Intelligences di Kecamatan Serang Kota Serang Banten. Peserta workshop terdiri dari 32 guru-guru SD dari 18 sekolah di Kota Serang. Sebelum dan sesudah workshop dilakukan wawancara untuk mengetahui pemahaman guru tentang konsep MI, perbedaan kecerdasan siswa, dan langkah-langkah yang dilakukan guru dalam merancang RPP dan melaksanakan pembelajaran untuk memfasilitasi berbagai kecerdasan siswa tersebut. Model pelatihan yang dihasilkan terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu : pra workshop, pelaksanaan workshop dan pasca workshop. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara sebelum dan sesudah workshop serta dari hasil pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas guru-guru SD di kota Serang tentang konsep MI dan aplikasinya dalam pembelajaran meningkat secara signifikan.

Abstract

Gerakan Literasi Sekolah merupakan sebuah upaya yang dilakukan secara menyeluruh untuk menjadikan sekolah sebagai organisasi pembelajar yang warganya literat sepanjang hayat melalui pelibatan publik. Menumbuh kembangkan budi pekerti peserta didik melalui pembudayaan ekosistem literasi sekolah yang diwujudkan dalam gerakan literasi sekolah agar menjadi pembelajar sepanjang hayat. Keterampilan membaca berperan penting dalam kehidupan kita karena pengetahuan diperoleh melalui membaca. Oleh karena itu, keterampilan ini harus dikuasai peserta didik dengan baik sejak dini. Pada abad ke-21 ini, kemampuan berliterasi peserta didik berkaitan erat dengan tuntutan keterampilan membaca yang berujung pada kemampuan memahami informasi secara analitis, kritis, dan reflektif. Akan tetapi, pembelajaran di sekolah saat ini belum mampumewujudkan hal tersebut. Pada tingkat sekolah menengah (usia 15 tahun) pemahaman membaca peserta didik Indonesia (selain matematika dan sains) diuji oleh Organisasi untuk Kerja Sama dan Pembangunan Ekonomi (OECD- Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) dalam Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini, peneliti bertujuan untuk  mengenalkan salah satu permainan tradisional yaitu Dua Belas Jadi Patung untuk mengembangkan keterampilan motorik kasar, sosial, kognitif dan melatih konsentrasi anak. selain itu, pokok utama pada penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan motorik kasar anak melalui permainan Dua Belas Jadi Patung. Metode yang diterapkan yakni penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwasannya sangat perlu menggambarkan objek penelitian ala kadarnya. Hal pertama yang peniliti lakukan ialah menjelaskan apa itu permainan Dua Belas Jadi Patung, kemudian meminta anak memainkan permainan tersebut dan diamati, dinilai kemudian didokumentasikan oleh peneliti. Permainan ini sangat efektif dikenalkan pada anak karena memiliki banyak manfaat didalamnya.

Abstract

In the current era, a kindergarten teacher or educator must be smarter in sorting the available digital content based on children's developmental achievements but still freely and easily accessible. Mobile application is one preferable media that can be utilized. This community service aimed to (1) introduce and provide training on the use of android application-based digital learning media for preschoolers to kindergarten educators in Serang City, Banten, and (2) examine the level of satisfaction of kindergarten educators regarding content presented in the Giat Bergerak and EduGame MARU applications. This community service used online training methods through the Zoom application, targeting 45 early childhood educators. Stages of activities include preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the results of activities. The Giat Bergerak mobile application consists of content for gross and fine motor activities, educational games, and information on children's health and safety; while the EduGame MARU application contains content introducing and playing simple concepts of numbers, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. Furthermore, on average above 90% of early childhood educators who participated in the program expressed their satisfaction with the Giat Bergerak and EduGame MARU applications which were seen from four aspects, namely content quality, alignment of learning objectives, feedback, and motivation.
