ABSTRAKSetiap penyandang disabilitas (tunadaksa) cenderung merasa tidak memiliki nilaikebermaknaan hidup, rasa berkecil hati, perasaan takut terhadap kondisi dirinya, sedihjika ditinggal, dan cenderung memiliki konsep diri yang negatif. Penyandang disabilitasdi Yayasan Pembinaan Anak Cacat (YPAC) Jimbaran Bali cenderung menarik diri darilingkungannya karena tidak memiliki kebermaknaan hidup. Dalam mengkajipermasalahan di atas digunakan teori Psikologi Humanistik serta dianalisis menggunakanmetode penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan pendekatan Quasi Experiment(equivalent time samples design). Dari metode kuantitatif didapatkan hasil pre test danpost test (p= 0,042 <0,05; z=-2,032). Dengan melihat perbandingan nilai post test danfollow up (p=0,098<0,05; z=-1,656). Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa konselingeksistensial humanistik efektif meningkatkan kebermaknaan hidup pada tunadaksa diYPAC Jimbaran Bali. Secara kualitatif diperoleh bahwa konseling eksistensial humanistikyang dilakukan peneliti berperan mempercepat proses peningkatan kebermaknaan hiduptunadaksa. Dengan demikian, setiap penyandang diabilitas khususnya tunadaksamampu menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungannya serta memiliki kebermaknaan hidup.Kata kunci: Konseling Eksistensial Humanistik; Peningkatan Kebermaknaan Hidup;Penyandang Disabilitas; Tunadaksa.ABSTRACTEvery person with disabilities (physically challenged) tends to feel that he does not havethe meaningful value of life, feeling discouraged, feeling afraid of his condition, sad whenleft behind, and tends to have a negative self-concept. People with disabilities at theJimbaran Bali Foundation for Disabled Children (YPAC) tend to withdraw from theirenvironment because they do not have the meaning of life. In reviewing the aboveproblems Humanistic Psychology theory is used and analyzed using quantitative andqualitative research methods with the Quasi Experiment (equivalent time samplesdesign) approach. From the quantitative method, the results of the pre-test and posttestwere obtained (p = 0.042 <0.05; z = -2.032). Whereas by looking at thecomparison of the value of post test and follow up (p = 0.098 <0.05; z = -1.656). Theresults of this study found that humanistic existential counseling effectively increased themeaningfulness of life in the quadriplegic at YPAC Jimbaran Bali. Qualitatively, it wasfound that humanistic existential counseling conducted by researchers played a role inaccelerating the process of increasing the meaningfulness of involuntary life.
