Abstract

Kecelakaan kereta api merupakan salah satu peristiwa transportasi yang sering terjadi di Indonesia. Salah satu permasalahan yang mengemuka adalah persoalan pintu perlintasan kereta. Kecelakaan yang sering terjadi di sekitar pintu perlintasan disebabkan kelalaian petugas penjaga pintu atau sikap dari para pengemudi yang nekat. Faktor manusia dan teknologi sering menjadi sorotan dalam banyak kasus kecelakaan kereta api. Konsep mengenai determinisme teknologi dan konstruksi sosial memang merupakan dua kutub yang seolah-olah saling berlawanan dalam melihat suatu fenomena teknologi. Tulisan ini membahas bagaimana suatu pintu perlintasan kereta api dipandang sebagai salah satu unsur teknologi yang berperan penting dalam menjaga keselamatan manusia. Kajian ini mengamati faktor manusia dan nonmanusia dalam melihat moralitas teknologi pintu perlintasan kereta api di Cikudapateuh, Bandung. Kata Kunci: teknologi, moralitas, pintu perlintasan kereta api, transportasi Train wreck is one of the transportation accidents that often occur in Indonesia. One of the problems that often arise is that of railroad crossings due to negligence of the officers in charge or to reckless motorists. Human factors and technology are often in the spotlight in many cases of train accidents. The concept of technological determinism and social construct is a two-seemingly-contradictory view of technological phenomena. This paper outlines how rail crossings are viewed as an element of technology that plays an important role in human safety. This study observes human and non-human factors in perceiving the morality of railroad crossings technology in Cikudapateuh, Bandung. Keywords: technology, morality, railway crossings, transportation

Abstract

Konvergensi media merupakan salah satu perkembangan media massa yang melibatkan banyak faktor teknologi di dalamnya. Kehadiran internet mendorong media massa menerapkan konsep konvergensi media seperti media online, e-paper, e-books, radio streaming, media sosial, dan lain-lain. Persaingan bisnis media menjadi salah satu faktor pendorong media massa menerapkan konsep ini karena perkembangan teknologi tidak hanya mengandalkan format cetak (koran, majalah, buku) semata. Inovasi konvergensi media dibutuhkan agar media massa mampu tetap bersaing di era bisnis dewasa ini. Sebagai salah satu bentuk inovasi, konvergensi media memerlukan berbagai proses dan tahapan dalam penerapannya. Tulisan ini akan menelusuri proses terjadinya difusi inovasi konvergensi media dengan objek penelitian harian Pikiran Rakyat. Penelitian secara kualitatif ini menggambarkan bagaimana konvergensi media mampu diadopsi oleh suatu media massa secara bertahap. Kata kunci: konvergensi media, difusi inovasi, media massa ABSTRACT The convergence of media is one of the developments of mass media that involve many technology factors in it. The existence of internet encourages the media to apply the concept of convergence of media such as online media, e-paper, e-books, radio streaming, social media, and others. Competition in media business is one factor driving the mass media to apply this concept because the mass media today does not merely rely on printted formats (newspapers, magazines, books) alone. Media convergence innovation is deemed necessary in order that the mass media be able to remain competitive in today's media business era. As one of the innovations in the mass media, media convergence requires a variety of processes and stages in the application. This paper will explore the process of diffusion of convergence innovation in the dailynews Pikiran Rakyat. Abstract

Nowadays, social media is used to build not only friendship networking but also business. Various companiesand media institutions use social media to disseminate information. One of the most popular social media widelyused by business companies and media institutions is Instagram, including Netflix Indonesia, which has created amass media-based Instagram “Zinetflix”. Zines is considered an alternative media that provides a lot of informationoutside the mainstream mass media channels. The characteristics of zines are community-based, anti-mainstream,and offering a more experimental format than conventional media. Zinetflix is a media innovation in the cyber mediabecause it utilizes various features and technology to become a channel of information. This study uses a qualitativeresearch method with a case study approach. The case study selected is “Zinetflix” which was designed by moviecontent provider Netflix. The data collection was conducted through observations, interviews, and literature studies.The results discussed in this research is how the use of Instagram social media features become an informationmedia space in the cyber media era as Zinetflix does in the celebration of the National Film Day every year.

Abstract

Teknologi digital telah mengubah cara untuk memproduksi, mendistribusi, mengonsumsi, serta mempromosikan karya musik. Saat ini dibutuhkan suatu cara baru yang lebih inovatif dan efektif oleh para pelaku industri rekaman karena beberapa cara promosi dan pemasaran konvensional dianggap tidak terlalu adaptif dengan kebutuhan sekarang. Perkembangan teknologi digital terutama kehadiran platform media komunikasi visual sangat penting dalam rangka menumbuhkan inovasi baru dalam promosi dan pemasaran di industri rekaman saat ini. Perlu pendekatan yang lebih berbasis media komunikasi visual dalam merancang suatu strategi komunikasi sehingga tujuan pemasaran dan promosi label rekaman tersebut bisa tercapai. Objek yang akan diteliti yaitu salah satu label rekaman independen asal Jakarta bernama Sun Eater Records. Metodologi penelitian yang akan dilakukan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam dan studi literatur. Di tengah era konvergensi media saat ini penting untuk diketahui bagaimana Sun Eater Records melakukan strategi komunikasi di era digital melalui pemanfaatan konten berbasis media komunikasi visual. Penelitian ini ingin mengungkapkan pemanfaatan media komunikasi visual di platform media sosial sangat penting karena geliat industri musik yang dinamis dengan perkembangan teknologi internet. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan mampu menjadi kajian serta rekomendasi untuk para pelaku industri rekaman dalam melakukan promosi dan pemasaran di era digital sehingga lebih fleksibel dan adaptif. Abstract

Secara perlahan subkultur menjadi sistem yang dianut oleh golongan tertentu yang kemudian dilawan kembali oleh sebuah pergerakan dari golongan itu sendiri. Mekanisme marjinalisasi dan alienasi tetap memegang peranan dalam terjadinya sebuah pergerakan. Hal tersebut pun terjadi dalam subkultur Metal, di mana pada saat ini sudah ada beragam musik metal dengan tema dan visualisasi yang jauh berbeda semenjak pertama. Studi sebelumnya menunjukkan beberapa gaya visual yang mengadaptasi gaya visual abad pertengahan, dan mitologi kuno. Ideologi dari seniman tersirat dalam visualisasi gaya tersebut berdasarkan hasil studi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna dan gaya visual dari album Koil – First Installment karena musik metal gaya Koil dengan visualisasi tertentu memiliki idealisme yang membedakan musik Koil dengan musik metal lainnya yang sejenis. Metode yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah analisis kualitatif deskriptif dengan validasi melalui wawancara kepada seniman perancang visual album ini Patra Aditia, data visual, dan studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya adaptasi idiom visual budaya populer Jepang, yang berangkat dari gagasan Koil pada album sebelumnya “senyawa mesin”. Selain itu gagasan ini merupakan hasil kultivasi masa kecil seniman di mana akses budaya populer Jepang begitu terbuka. Figur robot dari album ini menunjukkan adanya hal yang feasible dari hal yang imajiner. Kata kunci: idiom visual, subkultur, Koil, musik metal, sampul album

Abstract

The city of Bandung has a long history in the development of independent music. This city since the 1990s, gave birth to many independent albums that enliven the Indonesian music industry until recently. Album covers could serve as a vessel to see the development of the visual style of the music subculture. Album cover illustrations have a substantial role as one of the communication media between musicians and listeners (the public). Thus, the role of the album cover designer become central in the independent music subculture. Inevitably, it is important to reassess how the illustrators of album cover music coverings carry out the creative process and the communication process. This study uses qualitative research to determine the context of designing an independent music album cover and its communication aspects. The results of this study are expected to reveal the visualization and influence of communication in the depth between the album designer or illustrator with the independent music subculture in the 1990s and 2000s.

Abstract

Abstract The public health index is part of the Regional Government's plan, also the Sustainable Development Goal number 3. To assist public health improvement, a community service was carried out with partner Citra Sehat Clinic, Sadang Serang, Bandung City. The activity was carried out through preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage was conducted through surveys, observations, literature collection, and interviews. The implementation phase consisted of installing furniture and tools, workshops on the use of tools and queuing systems, and optimizing the use of social media. The evaluation stage was in the form of questionnaire feedback to partners. All stages were carried out collaboratively involving interior design, visual communication design, and information technology (IT). The results of the service are in the form of an e-kiosk, examples of social media content, and training. Efforts to improve public health in the digital era must use technology for data storage and public health media literacy. Design and IT collaboration can provide comprehensive solutions to problems in society. The provision of design and IT-based facilities needs to be accompanied by training on their use to be sustainable. Keywords: design, information technology, clinic, public health Abstrak Indeks kesehatan masyarakat merupakan bagian dari RKP Pemerintah Daerah, juga tujuan Sustainable Development Goals nomor 3. Dalam rangka membantu upaya peningkatan kesehatan masyarakat, dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat dengan mitra Klinik Citra Sehat Sadang Serang, Kota Bandung. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan melalui tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan berupa survey, observasi, pengumpulan literatur, dan wawancara. Tahap pelaksanaan terdiri dari kegiatan pemasangan mebel dan alat, workshop penggunaan alat dan sistem antrian, serta optimasi penggunaan media sosial. Tahap evaluasi berupa kuisioner feedback kepada mitra. Seluruh tahapan dilakukan secara kolaboratif melibatkan ilmu desain interior, desain komunikasi visual, dan teknologi informasi (IT). Hasil pengabdian berupa e-kiosk, contoh konten media sosial, dan pelatihan. Upaya peningkatan kesehatan masyarakat di era digital perlu memanfaatkan teknologi untuk penyimpanan data dan media literasi kesehatan masyarakat. Kerjasama desain dan IT mampu memberikan solusi komprehensif pada permasalahan di masyarakat. Pemberian fasilitas berbasis desain dan IT perlu disertai dengan pelatihan penggunaannya agar dapat berkelanjutan. Kata kunci: desain, teknologi informasi, klinik, kesehatan masyarakat

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the extent to which the spatial transformation due to the renovation of cultural heritage buildings can affect the physical building and the user's territory, as well as its influence on the concept of architecture as the language of development. This study uses a qualitative method. Data was collected by field observations, interviews, and literature review. The sampling was carried out using a non-random or purposive type of sample. The results of the analysis show that there has been a physical and territorial transformation in Gedung Sate, Bandung as an effect of the construction of the Gedung Sate Museum. The control role of stakeholders also greatly influences the extent to which this transformation takes place. Not only interior elements, space layouts, as well as facade elements, and user territories have changed. Furthermore, the existing transformation more or less also affects development in the Gedung Sate area, and for the city of Bandung in general. Where the role of Gedung Sate's architecture is now becoming broader and more abstract. Not only becomes an artifact, but also becomes something more economic and commercial (commodification).

Abstract

Visual artists used NFT (non-fungible tokens) to market artwork and build virtualcommunity networks. NFTs are special certificates or licenses for digitally sold items.In this context, the presence of NFT creators has given rise to a virtual communityinvolving many digital media activities. The phenomenon then offers a variety of newtechnology-based relationships (blockchain, metaverse, NFT, Twitter, Twitter Spaces,Discord, and Clubhouse) and human actors (artists, digital artists, and designers), whichgive rise to specific characteristics to interact with each other or market their artworkin a virtual community. This research aims to discuss the interaction process in the NFT virtual community to understand the NFT ecosystem based on digital media. The actor- network theory is used to understand the network relations between human and non-human actors interacting through various digital platforms. The results of this study showed that the NFT virtual community could not be separated from the presence ofhuman and non-human actors.
