Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is one of coconut processed products which contains various health benefits; but no any diversification of coconut processed product in regency of Bulukumba. The aim of this research is to investigate the comparison of VCO fatty acid composition through fermentation method from coconut varieties in district of Kajang, regency of Bulukumba. The sample of the research was the VCO varieties taken from various coconuts, there were 9 samples which represent the each variety of green coconut, red coconut and hybrid coconut. The sampling used proportional random sampling technique. Technique of collecting data, the data was collected by the analyst in LPPT of UGM by using gas chromatography method in an experiment. The collected data was analyzed descriptively by comparing the SNI 7381-2008. The result indicated that the highest mean percentages in green coconut werelauric and caproat acid, while the highest percentages in hybrid coconut werepalmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid and myristic acid, and the highest percentage in red coconut was capra acid. The composition of fatty acid from the three coconut varieties showed no significant difference; where lauric acid was 0.58%-2.75%, caproat acid was 0.01% - 0.04%, palmitic acid was 1.07% - 1.5%, stearic acid was 0.66% - 0.09%, oleic acid was 0.58% - 1.3%, myristic acid was 2.92% - 3.48% and copra acid was 0.1% - 1.9%. While the linoleic and linolenic acid had the same percentage. The difference of the fatty acid composition showed that, in generally, the composition of each coconut varieties fulfilled the SNI 7381-2008.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa dengan menerapkan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah pada mata pelajaran biologi, khususnya materi Sistem Regulasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Bulukumba yang berjumlah 33 orang pada semester ke 2 Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020. Data hasil belajar biologi diperoleh dengan menggunakan tes hasil belajar pada setiap siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah pada mata pelajaran biologi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Bulukumba. Peningkatan hasil belajar biologi siswa dapat dilihat dari peningkatan persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 60,6% dan pada siklus II sebesar 87,9 % atau dengan kata lain terjadi peningkatan sebesar 27,3 % dari siklus I ke siklus II. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini yaitu model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Bulukumba.

Abstract

Abad 21 ditandai dengan era keterbukaan dimana kehidupan manusia mengalami perubahan-perubahan fundamental yang berbeda dengan tatanan kehidupan abad sebelumnya. Keterampilan yang dibutuhkan saat ini adalah pendekatan saintifik yang menekankan pada pendekatan ilmiah dan inkuiri yang mencakup ranah afektif, kognitif dan psikomotorik. Pada pembelajaran biologi siswa dituntut memahami konsep, fakta, teori dan hukum secara mendalam yang dapat memberikan kepuasan intelektual, namun kenyataannya pembelajaran biologi yang diajarkan di SMA Negeri 7 Bulukumba masih belum maksimal, karena guru lebih kepada transfer pengetahuan saja yang menyebabkan terjadinya kesenjangan antara guru dan siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi. Pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru, sehingga siswa tidak mampu mengembangkan konsep, prinsip yang sudah ada sebelumnya. Akibatnya hasil belajar siswa belum mencapai KKM yang diharapkan yaitu 75. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan dua kelompok subjek,  satu kelompok mendapatkan perlakuan menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dan  satu  kelompok  sebagai  kontrol menggunakan pendekatan konvensional (ceramah dan tanya jawab). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan saintifik pada kelas eksperimen memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap hasil belajar, dibuktikan dari nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 66,58, sedangkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 46.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penerapan model pembelajaran Role Playing dengan tujuan untuk melihat peningkatan keterampilan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa yang telah dibelajarkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka. Subjek dari penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa angkatan 2018 kelas A yang menempuh matakuliah Biokimia dengan jumlah mahasiswa sebanyak 32 orang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Data hasil belajar kognitif diperoleh dari hasil tes essay yang didukung hasil observasi, dan pengerjaan LKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Role Playing mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa.

Abstract

Metacognitive skills are one of the abilities required in the twenty-first century, to achieve independent learning. However, these skills still need to review whether these skills have been empowered by educators, particularly in universities. This research was aimed at determining the metacognitive skill profile of Biology Education students at the Institute of Teachers’ Education in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This research used a descriptive quantitative method. The population of this research was all the students of the Biology Education Study Program at the non-state Institute of Teachers’ Education in South Sulawesi. The samples of this research were 356 Biology Education students in the second semester who programmed the Environmental Science course in the 2020/2021 academic year. The instrument used in this research was an essay test to measure students’ metacognitive skills in the Environmental Science course. The results of the data analysis indicate that the students’ metacognitive skills are in the category of undeveloped as much as 89.27%. Therefore, some efforts to improve students’ metacognitive skills are required by those institutes through the implementation of a learning model which can empower the metacognitive skills of the prospective Biology teacher students.

Abstract

The main problem faced by partners in the post-harvest process of corn is the peeling of corn husks which is still very slow, it makes high moisture and moldiness easily, the shelling process is still carried out traditionally so it takes longer time, besides that the farmers also have not mastered corn post-harvest technology so that the quality and selling price of corn is low. From the partners' problems it was agreed to carry out a practical and standardized handling of the corn post-harvest process, so that farmers do not spend a lot of money, time and energy but still guarantee the quality of corn production. The application of peeling and shelling technology simultaneously can be a solution so that the moisture content of corn is not too high, corn is not easy to mold and corn kernels do not break, so it can save costs. In addition, farmers are also given a measuring device for water content and how to use it, how to package and store corn production so that the quality is maintained. To take advantage of the large amount of corn husk waste, farmers are given training on how to process corn husk waste into handicraft products with economic value. The purpose of this technology product being disseminated are 1) partner farmer groups know and understand the standardized postharvest corn process, 2) to know postharvest technology that is more practical, maintain and improve the quality of corn production, 3) able to operate and master the use of machines, 4) able to use water content measuring instruments, and 4) to know how to process corn waste into economic value craft products from corn husks. In achieving this goal, several activities were carried out, namely socialization, training and assistance to partners.
