Abstract

 This study aims to determine the species of fish from the Acanthuridae family in Bitunuris Village, Salibabu Island, Talaud Islands Regency. Fish samples were caught using monofilament gill nets with a mesh size of 1.5 inches, net length of 15 m, and net height of 2 m. Sampling was carried out in April and May 2021. A total of 63 individuals were caught consisting of nine species. Acanthurus nigrofuscus 40 individuals, 10.0-17.0 cm in length and 18-77 g in weight. Acanthurus lineatus three individuals, 9.4-17.7 cm in length and 17-96 g in weight. Acanthurus triostegus is seven individuals, 9.3-12.4 cm in length, and weighs 21-55 g. Acanthurus nigricans two individuals each measuring 13.9-13.9 cm in length and weighing 67-70 g each. One individual Ctenochaetus cyanocheilus, a total length of 10.3 cm, and weight of 29 g. Naso lituratus four individuals, length 15.1-17.7 cm and weight ranging from 68-115 g. Naso brevirostris one individual measuring 23.0 cm in length and weighing 186 g. One individual Naso brachycentron, 24.5 cm in length and 172 g in weight. Zebrasoma scopas four individuals, 12.1-15.8 cm in length and weighing 54-105 g.Keywords: Species, gill nets.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui spesies ikan Famili Acanthuridae di Desa Bitunuris Pulau Salibabu Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud. Sampel ikan ditangkap menggunakan jaring insang monofilamen dengan ukuran mata jaring 1,5 inci, panjang jaring 15 m, tinggi jaring 2 m. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada April dan  Mei 2021. Sebanyak 63 individu yang tertangkap terdiri atas sembilan spesies.  Acanthurus nigrofuscus 40 individu, panjang berkisaran 10,0-17,0 cm dan berat 18-77 g.  Acanthurus lineatus tiga individu, panjang berkisaran 9,4-17,7 cm berat berkisaran 17-96 g.  Acanthurus triostegus  tuju individu, panjang 9,3-12,4 cm dan berat berkisaran antara 21-55 g.  Acanthurus nigricans dua individu masing-masing ukuran panjang 13,9-13,9 cm berat masing-masing ukuran 67-70 g.  Ctenochaetus cyanocheilus satu individu, panjang total 10,3 cm dan  berat 29 g.  Naso lituratus empat individu, ukuran panjang 15,1-17,7 cm berat berkisaran 68-115 g.  Naso brevirostris satu individu ukuran panjang 23,0 cm memiliki berat 186 g.  Naso brachycentron satu individu,  panjang 24,5 cm dan berat 172 g.  Zebrasoma scopas empat individu,  panjang 12,1-15,8 cm dan  berat 54-105 g.Kata Kunci: Spesies, jaring insang.

Abstract

Mangrove is an ecosystem consisting of a collection of trees and grows in the area around the coastline, living in conditions influenced by tides, muddy and sandy sediments. Has an important function in the effort to absorb carbon levels through the photosynthesis process which is better than other forest vegetation. The purpose of this study, namely to identify mangrove species, examine vegetation and determine the value of biomass and estimated carbon stock in Budo Village, Wori District, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. Data collection in this study used the line transect method with the transect position being on the left, middle and right of the mangrove ecosystem of Budo Village which was pulled along 100 meters per transect, then the quadrants were measured 10 m x 10 m using raffia rope to limit each quadrant with an interval of 10 m. m and the distance between transects is about 50 m. Based on the results of the study, found 4 types of mangroves, namely: Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, and Bruguiera gymnorrhyza. The highest density values and relative density of species were on transect 3 with a value of 900 trees/ha and 86.53% by Rhizophora apiculata. The species frequency and relative species frequency were highest in each transect owned by Rhizophora apiculata with values of 0.8 and 55.66%, respectively. The highest species cover was Rhizophora apiculata with a value of 2.56 cm/m with a relative species cover of 72.21%. The highest important value index was Rhizophora apiculata on transect 3 with a value of 214.31%. The highest biomass content was on transect 3 with a value of 592.27 tons/ha. The highest carbon content is on transect 3 with a value of 55.67 tons/ha.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the size group of fish caught, compare the morphometric characteristics between sexes, and describe the meristic characteristics of the dolphinfish Coryphaena hippurus. This study used a descriptive method. The morphometric characteristics were measured using a ruler and tape at the accuracy of 1 mm and 5 m, respectively, while the meristic characteristics were obtained by counting the number of spines. This study found a total of 57 individuals of the dolphinfish that had a size range of 48–89 cm, the male from 48 to 95 cm, and the females from 49 to 84 cm, respectively. Four morphometric parameters of male and 2 parameters of female dolphinfish could be used to predict the total length. The dolphinfish also had 59 dorsal soft rays, 25 soft pelvic rays, 22 soft pectoral rays, 26 soft anal rays, and 48 hard caudal rays. Keywords: descriptive, morphometric, meristic, size. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelompok ukuran ikan yang tertangkap, membandingkan karakteristik morfometrik antar jenis kelamin, dan mendeskripsikan karakteristik meristik ikan Lemadang Coryphaena hippurus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Karakteristik morfometrik diukur menggunakan penggaris dan meteran dengan ketelitian masing-masing 1 mm dan 5 m, sedangkan perhitungan meristik dilakukan dengan cara menghitung jari-jari sirip. Penelitian ini menemukan sebanyak 57 individu ikan Lemadang yang memiliki kisaran ukuran 48-89 cm, jantan 48-95 cm, dan betina berkisar 49-84 cm. Empat parameter morfometrik ikan Lemadang jantan dan 2 parameter ikan lemadang betina dapat digunakan untuk menduga panjang total. Ikan Lemadang juga memiliki 59 jari-jari lemah sirip punggung, 25 jari-jari lemah sirip perut, 22 jari-jari lemah sirip dada, 26 jari-jari lemah sirip dubur, dan 48 jari-jari keras sirip ekor. Abstract

The waters of Kalasey I Village have various resources and environmental services that are the potential to be utilized sustainably, such as tourism. The development activities in the tourism sector look so fast in this area with the establishment of several tourism infrastructures, such as diving centers, cottages, resorts,s and restaurants. These activities are thought to be able to affect the coral reef ecosystem. This study aims to determine the coral reef conditions, especially the reef flat, based on the percent cover of the live corals. Data collection was carried out at a depth of 3 meters with 3 replications using an Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) technique. Data obtained were analyzed using Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe) software. Based on the percent cover of live corals, the condition of coral reefs in the Kalasey 1 village waters was classified as poor with a coral cover percentage of 2.93%. Kegiatan pembangunan di sektor pariwisata terlihat begitu pesat di wilayah ini dengan berdirinya sejumlah infrastruktur pariwisata seperti diving center, cottage, resort dan rumah makan, dimana aktivitas tersebut diduga dapat mempengaruhi ekosistem terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang, khususnya rataan terumbu (reef flat), berdasarkan persentase tutupan karang di perairan Desa Kalasey I Kecamatan Mandolang Kabupaten Minahasa. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 3 meter dengan 3 ulangan, menggunakan teknik Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan software Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe). Diperoleh hasil kondisi terumbu karang tergolong dalam kategori miskin dengan persentase tutupan karang sebesar 2.93 %. Abstract

Coral reefs are coastal ecosystems with the highest level of diversity with about one million species worldwide and are habitats for assemblages of millions of polyps that produce limestone to form their skeletons and develop into vast expanses of colonies. Corals are invertebrates belonging to the phylum Coelenterata (hollow animals) or Cnidaria. In order to preserve the coral reef ecosystem in the future in the Bahowo area, quantitative data is needed that can explain/describe the condition of coral reefs. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of coral reefs, in this case, data on coral cover and associated biota in Bahowo waters. The data collection of this research used the UPT (Underwater Photo Transect) method. Analysis of the data in the form of research images using the CPCe (Coral Point Count with Excel extensions) application. The results of the analysis of the condition of coral reefs in Bahowo waters are in the damaged/bad category with live coral cover percentage data of 16.33%.Keywords: Live coral cover; Underwater photo transect (UPT); Coral reef condition; Bahowo watersAbstrakTerumbu karang merupakan ekosistem pesisir dengan tingkat keanekaragaman tertinggi dengan jumlah sekitar satu juta spesies di seluruh dunia dan merupakan habitat bagi kumpulan dari berjuta-juta hewan polip yang menghasilkan zat kapur membentuk skeletonnya dan berkembang menjadi hamparan koloni yang luas.  Karang adalah hewan tak bertulang belakang yang termasuk dalam filum Coelenterata (hewan berongga) atau Cnidaria.  Dalam rangka pelestarian ekosistem terumbu karang ke depan di daerah Bahowo, maka dibutuhkan data kuantitatif yang dapat menjelaskan/menggambarkan tentang kondisi terumbu karang.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang, dalam hal ini data tutupan karang dan biota asosiasi di perairan Bahowo.  Pengambilan data penelitian ini menggunakan metode UPT (Underwater Photo Transect).  Analisis data berupa gambar penelitian menggunakan aplikasi CPCe (Coral Point Count with Excel extensions).  Hasil analisa kondisi terumbu karang di perairan Bahowo masuk dalam kategori rusak/buruk dengan data presentase tutupan karang hidup sebesar 16,33%.Kata kunci: Tutupan karang hidup; Underwater photo transect (UPT); Kondisi terumbu karang; Perairan Bahowo

Abstract

Seagrass is a flowering plant (Angiospermae) that grows and breeds on the bottom of shallow sea waters, from tidal areas (intertidal zone) to sublittoral areas. The role of seagrass in shallow marine waters is as a primary producer, as a habitat for biota, catching sediments, and a nutrient recycler. The existence of seagrass is influenced by several factors, namely: temperature, salinity, depth, brightness, nutrients, and salinity. The purpose of this study was to determine the Relative Density, Relative Abundance, Relative Dominance, Frequency, Relative Frequency, Important Value Index, Diversity Index, and Dominance Index, to determine the types of seagrass and to determine the condition of the aquatic environment. This research uses the quadratic methods and line transect. This research was conducted on May 28, 2021, at Meras Beach, Bunaken District, Manado City, North Sulawesi. The number of stands of seagrass species in the study area ranged from 23-320 individuals, species density (8.36-116.36 individuals/m2), relative density (3.62-50.47%), frequency of presence (0.037- 0.50 ), relative frequency (3.62- 50.47%), dominance index (0.072-1.009), the diversity index (1.236), index of the importance of seagrass in Meras Coastal Waters showed that Cymodocea rotundata had the highest important value index among the 5 seagrass species, namely 151.41%. There are 5 species of seagrass found in Meras Coastal Waters, namely, Enhalus acoroides, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halophila ovalis, Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichii. The environmental conditions in Meras Beach are temperature 29°C, salinity 35‰, the brightness is quite clear and has a substrate of sand, muddy, sand mixed with mud, muddy mixed with sand, and coral fragments.Keywords: Meras Beach; Seagrass; Community Structure.AbstrakLamun (seagrass) adalah tumbuhan berbunga (Angiospermae) yang tumbuh dan berkembang biak pada dasar perairan laut dangkal, mulai daerah pasang surut (zona intertidal) sampai dengan daerah sublitoral. Peranan lamun di lingkungan perairan laut dangkal sebagai produsen primer, sebagai habitat biota, penangkapan sedimen dan sebagai pendaur zat hara. Keberadaan lamun dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu: suhu, salinitas, kedalaman, kecerahan, nutrient dan salinitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Kepadatan Relatif, Kelimpahan Relatif, Dominasi Relatif, frekuensi, Frekuensi Relatif, Indeks Nilai Penting, Indeks Keanekaragaman, dan Indeks Dominasi, untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis lamun dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kondisi lingkungan perairan. Adapun penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuadrat dan line transek. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 28 Mei 2021, dilakukan di Pantai Meras, Kecamatan Bunaken, Kota Manado, Sulawesi Utara. Jumlah tegakan spesies lamun di lokasi penelitian berkisar dari 23-320 individu, kepadatan spesies (8,36-116,36 individu/m2), kepadatan relatif (3,62- 50,47%), frekuensi kehadiran (0,037- 0,50) , frekuensi relatif (3,62- 50,47%), indeks dominasi (0,072-1,009), indeks keanekaragaman (1,236), indeks nilai penting lamun di Perairan Pantai Meras menunjukkan bahwa Cymodocea rotundata memiliki indeks nilai penting paling tinggi diantara ke 5 spesies lamun yakni 151, 41 %). Spesies lamun yang ditemukan di Perairan Pantai Meras berjumlah 5 yaitu, Enhalus acoroides, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halophila ovalis, Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichii. Kondisi lingkungan di Perairan Pantai Meras yakni suhu 29°C, salinitas 35‰, kecerahan cukup jernih dan memiliki substrat pasir, berlumpur, pasir bercampur lumpur, berlumpur campur pasir dan pecahan karang. Kata kunci: Pantai Meras; Lamun; Struktur Komunitas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the composition and condition of coral reefs in Dudepo Cape, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency. The method used is Line Intercept Transect (LIT). Data were collected by SCUBA diving at 3 meters and 10 meters depths. In 3 meters depth was found biotic components such as Acropora and non-Acropora with 6 growth forms, and five other biotic components, while abiotic components were only found in coral rubbles (R). In 10 meter depth was found biotic components live coral with 7 growth forms, and five other biotic components, while the abiotic components as sand and coral rubbles. In two depths, the coral reef component dominant were Acropora digitate (ACD) and Acropora branching (ACB). The condition of coral reefs at 3-meter depth and 10 meters were  “Fair”  with the percent cover of live corals being 35.59% and 37.30%.Keywords: Coral; Coral Reef; ConditionAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi dan kondisi terumbu karang di Tanjung Dudepo Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Line Intercept Transect (LIT). Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan penyelaman SCUBA pada kedalaman 3 meter dan 10 meter. Pada kedalaman 3 meter ditemukan komponen biotik berupa karang hidup acropora dan non-acropora dengan 6 bentuk pertumbuhan, dan 5 komponen biotik lainnya, sedangkan komponen abiotik hanya ditemukan berupa pecahan karang. Pada kedalaman 10 meter ditemukan komponen biotik berupa karang hidup dengan 7 bentuk pertumbuhan, dan 5 komponen biotik lainnya, sedangkan komponen abiotik berupa pasir dan pecahan karang. Pada dua kedalaman, bentuk pertumbuhan yang mendominasi yaitu acropora digitate dan acropora branching. Kondisi terumbu karang pada lokasi penelitian khususnya pada kedalaman 3 meter dan 10 meter yaitu berada pada kategori cukup dengan persentase tutupan sebesar 35,59% dan 37,30%. Kata kunci: Karang; Terumbu Karang; Kondisi.

Abstract

 This study aims to determine the distribution of sizes and morphological characters of Banggai Cardinal fish in the waters in front of Dudepo Village, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Field data collection using the explorer survey method with diving and snorkeling activities. Fishing in each microhabitat with “Sibu” fishing gear. The size distribution of cardinal Banggai fish is in the range of 2.7 - 9.2 cm. The size of the male Banggai Cardinal fish is in the range of 3.8 - 9.2, while the female is in the range of 3.7 - 8.1 cm. The size of fish in symbiosis with anemones is in the range of 2.7 - 7.1 cm, while those in sea urchins are in the range of 4.8 - 9.2 cm.Keywords: Size Distribution; Banggai Cardinal fish; morphological charactersAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sebaran ukuran dan karakter morfologi ikan banggai kardinal di perairan Desa Dudepo, Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Selatan. Pengambilan data lapangan menggunakan metode survei jelajah dengan kegiatan penyelaman dan snorkling.  Penangkapan ikan di setiap mikrohabitat, dengan alat tangkap “Sibu”.  Sebaran ukuran ikan banggai kardinal berada pada kisaran 2,7 - 9,2 cm.  Ukuran ikan banggai kardinal jantan berada pada kisaran 3,8 - 9,2, sedangkan betina berada pada kisaran 3,7 - 8,1 cm.  Ukuran ikan yang bersimbiosis dengan anemon berada pada kisaran 2,7 - 7,1 cm, sementara yang berada di bulu babi berkisar 4,8 - 9,2 cm.

Abstract

The village of Bahoi has a vast expanse of seagrass meadows of approximately 16.50 Ha, located between mangrove and coral reef ecosystems. This study aims to inventory the gastropod species in the seagrass meadow of Bahoi village waters and to determine the gastropod community structure through analysis of species density, relative density, species diversity index, and dominance index. The method used was a transect line method along 50 meters and a 1x1m quadrat pulled towards the sea, repeated three times during low tide. A total of 117 individuals were found, belonging to 26 species (11 families and 17 genera) of gastropods in the seagrass meadow of Bahoi village coastal waters. Based on the results, the highest density value was 1.10 ind/m2 with a relative density of 28.20%. Based on the analysis, the dominance index (D) of gastropods in the seagrass meadow of Bahoi village coastal waters was low, with values of D = 0.019 to 0.041, indicating that there was no specific species dominance in the seagrass meadow of Bahoi village coastal waters. This has an effect on the diversity index with a value of H' = 2.51, which is categorized as moderate. These results show that the diversity of gastropod species in the seagrass meadow of Bahoi village waters is quite diverse due to the absence of specific gastropod species dominance. Abstrak Desa Bahoi memiliki luas hamparan padang lamun ± 16.50 Ha yang berada di antara ekosistem mangrove dan ekosistem terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan inventarisasi jenis-jenis gastropoda di hamparan lamun perairan Desa Bahoi, dan mengetahui struktur komunitas gastropoda melalui analisis kepadatan spesies, kepadatan relatif, indeks keanekaragaman spesies, dan indeks dominasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode transek garis sepanjang 50 meter dan kuadrat berukuran 1×1m yang ditarik ke arah laut, dan dilakukan ulangan sebanyak 3 kali pada saat air surut.Ditemukan 117 individu yang termasuk ke dalam 26 spesies (11 famili dan 17 genera) gastropoda di hamparan padang lamun perairan pantai desa Bahoi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, nilai kepadatan tertinggi sebesar 1,10 ind/m2 dengan kepadatan relatif 28,20%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, Indeks Dominansi (D) gastropoda di hamparan lamun perairan pantai desa Bahoi tergolong rendah, dengan nilai D=0,019 sampai dengan 0,041 menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat dominasi spesies tertentu di hamparan padang lamun perairan pantai desa Bahoi. Hal ini berpengaruh terhadap Indeks Keanekaragaman dengan nilai H’=2,51 sehingga berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa keanekaragaman jenis gastropoda di hamparan lamun perairan pantai desa Bahoi cukup beragam dikarenakan tidak adanya dominasi spesies gastropoda tertentu. Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the types and size distribution of parrotfish in the waters of Taduna Village. The research was conducted using sampling methods. Samples were collected over a period of two months from the catches landed in Taduna Village by local fishermen. The fishermen used gillnets for their catches. The length of each fish was measured from the tip of the mouth to the end of the tail using a millimeter-scale ruler with a precision of 0.1 cm. The weight of the fish was measured using a digital scale with a resolution of one gram. The length of each species was analyzed using frequency distribution and presented in length and weight histograms. Based on the data obtained from the measurements of Family Scaridae fish, a total of 53 individuals were collected, consisting of 8 species: Chorurus bleekeri (11 individuals), Calotomus carolinus (4 individuals), Chorurus japanensis (6 individuals), Chlorurus microrhinos (2 individuals), Scarus frenatus (16 individuals), Scarus russell (4 individuals), Scarus spinus (5 individuals), and Scarus tricolor (5 individuals). The distribution of Family Scaridae fish in the waters off Taduna Village shows varying lengths and weights for each species. For example, Chorurus bleekeri ranged from 18.9 to 26.5 cm in length and weighed between 150 and 394 grams, Chorurus japanensis had a length distribution between 17.5 and 27.4 cm and weighed from 119 to 465 grams, and Scarus frenatus ranged from 18.3 to 24.5 cm in length and weighed between 117 and 308 grams." Keywords: Parrotfish, Scaridae, Types, Size, Kabaruan. Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui jenis dan distribusi ukuran ikan kakatua di perairan Desa Taduna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dalam waktu dua bulan dari hasil tangkapan nelayan yang didaratkan di Desa Taduna. Alat yang digunakan nelayan adalah jaring insang mono filamen. Seluruh panjang ikan diukur dari ujung mulut hingga ujung ekor dengan penggaris skala milimeter dengan ketelitian 0,1 cm. Berat ikan diukur dengan timbangan digital dengan resolusi satu gram. Panjang setiap spesies dianalisis menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan ditampilkan dalam histogram panjang dan berat. Berdasarkan data hasil pengukuran ikan Famili Scaridae diperoleh sebanyak 53 individu yang terdiri dari 8 spesies yaitu Chorurus bleekeri (11 individu), Calotomus carolinus (4 individu), Chorurus japanensis (6 individu), Chlorurus microrhinos (2 individu), Scarus frenatus (16 individu), Scarus russellii (4 individu), Scarus spinus (5 individu) dan Scarus tricolor (5 individu). Distribusi ikan Famili Scaridae di perairan depan Desa Taduna memiliki ukuran panjang dan berat yang bervariasi yaitu spesies Chorurus bleekeri berkisar 18,9-26,5 cm dan berat 150-394 gram, Chorurus japanensis memiliki distribusi ukuran panjang berkisar 17,5-27,4 cm dan berat 119-465 gram dan Scarus frenatus memiliki distribusi ukuran panjang berkisar 18,3-24,5 cm dan berat 117-308 gram.
