Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Nilai-nilai luhur budaya yang dimiliki kelompok masyarakat di Indonesia sudah merupakan milik bangsa sebagai potensi yang tak ternilai untuk pembangunan dan kemajuan bangsa. Di lingkungan masyarakat tradisional Jawa Barat terbangun sains asli yang berbentuk pesan, adat-istiadat yang diyakini oleh masyarakatnya, dan disampaikan secara turun-temurun tentang bagaimana harus bersikap terhadap alam. Masyarakat adat yang tidak mendapatkan pengetahuan formal tentang peran gas oksigen, karbondioksida, serta siklus karbon di alam, menerapkan pengetahuan tradisional berupa amanat leluhur untuk menjaga hutan dan air dengan cara tidak menebang hutan sembarangan. Teknologi yang berkembang pada masyarakat tradisional Sunda, salah satunya, bisa diamati pada bangunan tradisional berupa rumah panggung. Sistem kekuatan pada rumah panggung menggunakan ikatan, sambungan “pupurus”, dan pasak. Tidak ada paku, mur, dan baut, karena dilarang oleh adat dan bertentangan dengan aturan leluhur mereka atau tabu. Nilai-nilai luhur dan budaya lokal tersebut tetap dipertahankan dan diwariskan kepada generasi berikutnya yang hidup di era modern. KATA KUNCI: Sains Modern dan Tradisional; Teknologi Ramah Lingkungan; Kearifan Lokal; Masyarakat Sunda; Rumah Panggung. ABSTRACT: “The Concept of Science and Technology in Traditional Communities in West Java Province, Indonesia”. The noble values of culture owned by community groups in Indonesia have belonged to the nation as an invaluable potential for the development and progress of the nation. In the West Java traditional community, the original science in the form of messages, customs that are believed by the community, and passed down from generation to generation about how to behave towards nature. Indigenous peoples who do not get formal knowledge of the role of oxygen gas, carbon dioxide, and the carbon cycle in nature, applying traditional knowledge of ancestral mandates to preserve forests and water by not cutting down forests indiscriminately. The technology that developed in Sundanese traditional society, one of them, can be observed in the traditional building in the form of a stage house. The power system of the house on stilts uses ties, connections, and pegs. There were no nails, nuts, and bolts, for it was forbidden by custom and against their ancestral rules or taboos. Abstract

RINGKASAN: Provinsi Jawa Barat termasuk daerah rawan bencana; dan minimnya pengetahuan masyarakat akan kebencanaan menyebabkan resiko bencana menjadi semakin tinggi. Masyarakat suatu daerah mempunyai kearifan lokal untuk mengurangi resiko bencana yang perlu digali dan disebarluaskan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran mitigasi bencana berorientasi kearifan lokal pada pelajaran IPA (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam) di SMK (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan). Tahap penelitian dikenal dengan istilah “model 4-p”, yaitu: pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan pendiseminasian. Peneliti telah berhasil menyusun perangkat PMBBKL (Pembelajaran Mitigasi Bencana Berorientasi Kearifan Lokal) pada pelajaran IPA di SMK. Materi pembelajaran yang dikembangkan antara lain: fenomena bencana alam; konsep mitigasi bencana; kearifan lokal; serta konsep mitigasi bencana gempa bumi, banjir, tanah longsor, gunung berapi, dan tsunami. Implementasi PMBBKL pada dua SMK di Jawa Barat menunjukan bahwa siswa yang menerapkan PMBBKL dengan pendekatan STM (Sains Teknologi Masyarakat) memiliki pemahaman mitigasi bencana lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena pada pembelajaran tersebut ditunjukkan proses dan dampak bencana melalui berbagai media, termasuk kearifan lokal masyarakat agar terhindar dari bencana.KATA KUNCI: Mitigasi Bencana; Kearifan Lokal; Pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam; Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan; Pendekatan Sains Teknologi dan Masyarakat. ABSTRACT: “Learning of Disaster Mitigation Oriented Local Wisdom in the Science Lesson at the Secondary Vocational High School”. West Java is considered as one of disaster prone areas in Indonesia; in addition to that lack of people’s awareness and knowledge regarding to disaster is leading to higher susceptibility to disaster. Local community poses local wisdom to mitigate the risk of disaster and this local wisdom need to be elaborated and disseminated to broader community. The objective of this research is to develop set of learning tools to mitigate the disaster in the Science subject for the pupils of Secondary Vocational High School. The model of 4-d consists of four stages, namely: definition, design, develop, and disseminate. Researcher had developed set of learning tools to mitigate the disaster in the Science subject, based on the local wisdom to mitigate the disaster in the community. The learning materials consist of: disaster phenomena; local wisdom; and disaster mitigation concept to cope with various disasters, such as earthquake, flooding, landslide, volcano eruption, and tsunami. The implementation of that subject to two Secondary Vocational High Schools in West Java showed that students which enroll to that class which is taught the disaster mitigation materials in Science subject based on STS (Sci­ence Technology Society) poses better comprehension of the disaster mitigation concept compared to other class which is taught by conventional Science subject. This result is possible due to the reason that in the learning process, the teacher taught the students by utilizing the learning materials through various media, including the community’s local wisdom to cope with the disaster. Abstract

This paper aimed to describe architectural design model of vocational high school that is accessible and meets the behavioral needs of children with visual impairment. The method used was a rational design method or often called as a glass box method, which was divided into four steps: 1) design criteria; 2) children with visual impairment’s behaviour; 3) programming; 4) designing model. The design criteria was combined based on its accessibility, space, sensory awareness, enhancement of learning, flexibility and ability, health and well-being condition, safety and security, sustainability, incorporation of nature environment and buildings, and availability of open space. These principle implemented from outside to inside the building, as well as from the site, landscape, building to interior of classroom. We believe that this study gives important for the need of architectural building model for students with special needs.

Abstract

This research aim to re-build labours capacity on concept and knowledge about housing throughconstruction workshop in endure building from earthquake. The result from this research found thatknowledge of participant had been increase to 41% (fourty one percents) through the workshop.

Abstract

Continuous professional development of vocational teachers is a strategic effort to increase the competence of professional vocational teachers in a planned and structured. Professional vocational teachers have mastery of competencies demands a comprehensive multi-dimensional. Competency professional standards based on juridical regulation, which includes professional competence, personal competence, social competence and ped-agogical competence. Multi-professional competence of vocational teachers increasingly complex, because the substance of technological and vocational extremely varied and has very wide dimensions. The dynamics of technological and vocational education has a high acceleration, in line with the development of business and industry. The substance of the subject matter and learning model developed adaptive and portable, so as to synchronize the changes that occur. This paper will identify a comprehensive identity-based teacher professional culture-based model 'Raymond Gagnon'. Teacher professional identity associated with the technical efforts undertaken vocational teachers in West Java in an effort to improve the mastery of basic prerequisite's professional teacher competency standards. Descriptive analysis was conducted to describe the specific technical efforts in improving professional skills had been done, either individually, or in groups of formal institutions. The final result can be seen mapping profile in a structured continuous professional development and conceptual provide strategic impact to the renewal of knowledge and the improvement of teaching practices in the classroom teacher. Abstract

Environmental literacy as individual knowledge and understanding of aspects of the build environment, the principles that occur in the environment, and is able to act in maintaining environmental quality which is applied in everyday life. Changes in the environment each year will occur both in local and global contexts, so the goal of increased environmental literacy is to prepare people who understand and can cope with environmental issues, so it can be prepared reformer environmental agents that have a positive attitude and action on the environment. The purpose of this research is to gain an environmental profile literacy levels of students Vocational High School (SMK) in West Java. To achieve these objectives, the research method used is descriptive research method. The results showed that the knowledge and understanding of vocational students about the environment, including the unfavorable category. This suggests that environmental literacy vocational students are low. Environmental literacy is essential in tackling the environmental problems. This shows that the necessary efforts to improve environmental literacy vocational students. One of the efforts is the learning environment must be integrated on activities intrakulikuler with election materials in line with the skills of vocational students. In the process of learning needs to be done by implementing the learning that adopts konstruksivisme.

Abstract

The background of this study is about the lack result and motivation of student in the Building Technique Class. Meanwhile the aims to determine the difference between the learning outcomes as well as motivation of students whose learning application of the learning model scaffolding to students who are learning to apply conventional learning models. This study uses a true experimental research methods by using posttest only control group design with quantitative approach. The subjects were students of class X Building Design Technique SMKN 9 Garut totaling 40 subjects involving teacher’s vocational competence. The research instrument is 5 essay tests to measure learning outcomes, 20 questionnaires to measure the motivation to learn and research documentation. Based on the analysis of research we concluded that: a) there is a difference between learning outcomes of students whose learning applying the learning model scaffolding with students who learning without applying the learning model scaffolding (conventional). This is indicated by the acquired Sig. amounting to 2.851 1.695 b) there is a difference between students' motivation is learning to apply learning models scaffolding with students whose learning without applying the learning model scaffolding (conventional). This is indicated by the acquired Sig. amounting to 2.851 1.685

Abstract

Abstrak- The development of technology in buildings is one of the factors triggering the acceleration of methods in the facade configuration system. Double Skin Facade (DSF) is one of the building facade concept innovations. The purpose of applying the DSF concept is to optimize the use of energy related to the air conditioning system to obtain thermal comfort in buildings. The results of measurements of the existing condition of the Image Studio room in the morning until 11.00 are included in the optimal comfort category, 11.00 - 13.00 are in the warm comfortable category and starting at 13.00-18.00 tend not to meet thermal comfort. Based on the simulation results the use of Double Skin Facade can reduce the temperature in the room around 3.47oC. With the application of Double Skin Facade in this Image Studio room, it can reduce the heat radiation from sunlight that directly enters through the window because it can be detained first in the double facade. The application of Double Skin Facade can increase the thermal comfort of an Image Studio room. Kata kunci- Double Skin Façade, Thermal Comfort

Abstract

Abstract - West Java Province has a very unique and strategic geographic field challenge as a province with the largest population in Indonesia and as a province that is at the forefront of supporting the rapid dynamics of development in the capital city DKI Jakarta. In realizing equitable development, as stated in the West Java Provincial Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2018-2023, infrastructure development is regulated in a priority scheme that aims to bring equitable development. One of the planned transportation infrastructure developments in the construction of Cikembar Airport, Sukabumi, is prepared to serve the development area (WP) of the Sukabumi area and its surroundings which is targeted for completion in 2023. In preparing the airport design, a projection analysis based on demand is needed first. which correlates with statistical data. Forecasting analysis (forecasting) the number of passengers at Cikembar Airport aims to obtain potential passenger demand and a description of the needs for terminal facilities through the collection of statistical data to be analyzed using the correlation method and the multiple linear regression method between the number of passengers as the dependent variable. Meanwhile, statistical variables such as population growth, tourist growth, and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Sukabumi, and West Java Regencies were determined as independent variables. In formulating the terminal room facilities, it refers to the standards issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation through SKEP No.77/VI Year 2005. Considering the moderate upward trend approach, the estimated number of passengers at Cikembar Airport passenger terminal in 2023, namely the year the airport is planned to be realized, is as much as 756,029 passengers with busy time passengers totaling 605 passengers. The operational area needed for the terminal in that year was 8,468 m2. Assuming the concession area provided is 30%, the total terminal area required is 11,643 m2. This area projection still meets the needs based on the estimated terminal area attached to the Cikembar Airport master plan, which is 12,000 m2.
