Abstract

This study aimed to highlight the view of educators on the teachers’ willingness to change in adapting to online learning due to the Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID -19) pandemic. The sudden shifting required readiness to facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning interactions. The results of previous studies on the dissatisfaction with the online learning quality during the pandemic triggered this study. Teachers preferred to use task-based learning and resisted incorporating technology in the learning process. The limited literature provided a study gap investigated in the present study. Therefore, the real-time virtual focus group discussions were carried out to obtain viewpoints about teachers’ willingness to change in which 31 participants, including teachers, principals, and supervisors, shared their viewpoints. Moreover, dynamic discussions were conducted through brainstorming using Mentimeter, collecting viewpoints via zoom poll, and discussion engagements in the primary and breakout rooms. Content analysis revealed three categories: willingness to learn, try, and be open. The result provided novelty essential as a new perspective and proposed possible solutions to address the problems shifting from regular to online learning in Indonesia. Finally, this study recommends future investigation of teachers’ willingness to change as a new concept of professional development in establishing quality learning.

Abstract

Studying innovative work behaviour in the Industrial Age 4.0 is an interesting research issue. Using an internal locus of control as a moderator, this study seeks to understand how transformational leadership and organisational climate might promote innovative work behaviour. One hundred and twenty-five respondents participated in this quantitative research, where they were selected based on a purposive sampling method. A cross-sectional survey was conducted to collect the data utilising established instruments looking into the perspectives of the respondents about transformational leadership, organisational climate, innovative work behaviour, and internal locus of control. Data analyses were conducted using SPSS 24 version, where descriptive and inferential analyses, multiple linear analysis and moderated regression analysis (MRA) were undertaken. Based on the analysis, the study's results showed that transformational leadership has a negative and small impact on innovative work behaviour. Organisational climate and internal locus of control were found to positively and moderately impact innovative work behaviour. However, the internal locus of control is needed to moderate the impact of transformational leadership on innovative work behaviour. Based on these results, the hotel industry needs to consider transformational leadership attitudes to create innovative behaviour in human resources, especially in this industry. In addition, it is hoped that future research in this area can be focused on different types of job and gender to produce even better results.

Abstract

Ethnic restaurants are currently a fascinating topic, as they promote specific ethnic cultures and provide customers with a chance to try something new and different. Ethnic restaurants often offer flavours that are truly representative of a certain culture. This research investigates the factors that influence customer perceived value in Japanese ethnic restaurants. Data were collected through an online survey completed by customers who had visited a Japanese ethnic restaurant, Marugame Udon, in Indonesia. The Structural Equation Model (SEM) was applied to test the hypotheses. The findings of this study demonstrate that food quality, employee service quality, and price fairness positively affect customers’ perceived value. In contrast, the dining atmospheric quality and restaurant authenticity do not affect customers' perceived value. Studies on customer perceived value in ethnic Japanese restaurants are still incredibly rare in the literature., especially in Indonesia and Malaysia. Thus, this study aims to fill that gap, providing valuable insights for future research and restaurant management.JEL Classification: M10, M11, M21How to Cite:Urdianti, D., Qamari, I.N., & Hasan, W.
