Abstract

Siswa dihadapkan dengan proses pergeseran pola belajar dari masa pandemi menuju pasca pandemi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi belajar siswa sebelum dan setalah pandemi covid 19, di SMAN 5 Sungai Penuh. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian ex post facto dengan pendekatan penelitian kombinasi model Sequential Exlanatory. Teknik pengambilan data pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan angket dan lembar observasi. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa masing-masing siswa memiliki perbedaaan kesiapan dan kondisi pembelajaran yang berbeda selama pandemi menunju pasca pandemi. Hal tersebut di tunjukkan dengan presentase kesiapan dan adapatasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kesiapan siswa selama pandemi covid 19.

Abstract

Pengembangan buku penuntun praktikum IPA berbasis inquiri dapat digunakan untuk acuan pelaksanaan praktikum IPA di SMP At-Thayyibah Semurup.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan hasil validitas dan praktikalitas buku penuntun praktikum pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri terbimbing. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP At-Thayyibah Semurup. Produk yang dikembangkan di nilai oleh validator ahli media dan validator ahli materi serta dilakukan uji kepraktisan pada siswa yang berjumlah 28 orang. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala likert. Produk yang dihasilkan yaitu buku penuntun praktikum materi sistem pernapasan pada manusia. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli materi diperoleh skor sebesar 3,73 atau 93,25% dengan kategori sangat valid dan validasi ahli media diperoleh skor sebesar 3,15 atau 78,75% dengan kategori valid. Sedangkan respon pengguna siswa terhadap pengembangan buku penuntun praktikum memperoleh skor 3,4 atau sebesar 85% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, media yang telah dinyatakan valid dan praktis melalui sebuah uji, maka dapat digunakan dengan baik sebagai penuntun praktikum

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of understanding of plant physiology in caring for ornamental plants in the people of Sungai Penuh City. This understanding is related to the understanding of Plant Physiology. If the community already has an understanding of plant physiology, then the community can take advantage of ornamental plants such as greening their homes, increasing income, and being used as medicinal plants. The type of research used is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The population and sample in this study were the people of Sungai Penuh City, amounting to 76 people. The instrument used is a test in the form of questions about people's understanding of plant physiology. Data analysis using SPSS and using the percentage formula. The results showed that the understanding of community plant physiology in caring for ornamental plants can be seen that 27 respondents scored "very high", 41 respondents scored "high", 6 respondents scored "medium" and 2 respondents scored "low" and none respondents who scored in the very low category. The average value for this variable is 75.8 (high).

Abstract

This current study aimed to examine the levels of TPACK among pre-service and in-service science teachers, including several influencing factors such as gender, status, and age. Through a study of TPACK dimensions of the 211 pre-service and in-service biology teachers and science teachers were identified. The results depicted that pre-service and in-service science teachers dominate the understanding and application of non-technological dimensions. Otherwise, it was found that technological dimensions needed to be more knowledgeable for pre-service and in-service science teachers. The analysis of the variance test demonstrates significant differences were identified regarding status and age. However, no dimension was found to be significantly different regarding age level. To sum up, pre-service and in-service science teachers have different understandings and applications of ICT integration in science classrooms. Professional teaching can be developed by improving knowledge and skills of technology, pedagogy, content, and their integration.

Abstract

It is unquestionable that research and thesis writing anxiety has negative impacts on academic success. Such academic anxiety needs a serious concern by measuring it as a beginning step to determine appropriate research and thesis writing strategies. Therefore, this study aimed at measuring the types and levels concerning anxiety towards research and undergraduate thesis writing among students in an Islamic college. Through a mixed-methods design, 450 students from various majors at a state-owned college were asked to complete a questionnaire and 10 students were involved in a semi-structured interview. The quantitative data were analyzed by determining means, SD, and frequency levels and a content analysis was applied to analyze qualitative data. The results revealed perceived utility and competence as the most common type experienced by students during a field research and thesis writing. On the other hand, the students are able to work with library-related practice as it has the lowest mean score. Regarding qualitative result, it is stated that there are problem that emerge during the field research and thesis writing, including fear of writing, library, statistics, and field research. Fortunately, the students are able to cope with the problems by undertaking several related strategies, including conducting regular practice, comprehending online resources, and utilizing online application. In short, it is implied that such academic anxiety can be avoided by the students and it is recommended that future research has to focus on determining research and thesis writing strategies.

Copyright©2023 Metacognitive urgency is required to develop students' problem-solving abilities because learning requires students to develop not only cognitive abilities but also high reasoning skills. This study aimed to determine the relationship between metacognitive skills and students' ability to solve problems in biology using the PjBL model. This study was quantitative research with a correlational approach. The research was conducted over the course of a month in August 2022. The data analysis technique used was the Normality Test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Z-test, followed by the Pearson Correlation Test to determine the existence and magnitude of the relationship between variable X and variable Y, others expressed in percent. The metacognitive skills of students at SMAN 4 Sungai Penuh fall into the high category, with a percentage of 76.11%. However, the ability of students to solve problems in Biology subjects using the PjBL model at SMAN 4 Sungai Penuh is categorized as low, with a percentage of 52.23%. The study found no correlation between students' metacognitive skills and their ability to solve problems in the Biology subject using the PjBL model at SMAN 4 Sungai Penuh. Furthermore, there was no correlation observed between the indicators of students' metacognitive skills and their problem-solving abilities in Biology using the PjBL model in SMAN 4 Sungai Penuh.

Abstract

One way to evaluate general biology practicum is to know the students' perceptions of general biology practicum. This study aims to determine student perceptions of general biology practicum, general biology practicum planning, facilities and infrastructure of general biology practicum, and also to determine the perceptions of students towards the implementation of general biology practicum majoring in biology IAIN Kerinci. This research belongs to the category of qualitative research. To get the data the researcher used the study (1) Observation, observed the general Biology practicum, (2) Interview, semester 1 student lecturer and department head, (3) Documents, data about vision and mission department, and general Biology practicum guide. The results obtained based on the results of data analysis and discussion can be concluded (1) Perception of the General Biology practicum planning Department of Biology Tadris IAIN Kerinci is quite good. (2) Perception of the first semester biology student of IAIN Kerinci regarding the facilities and infrastructure of general biology practicum namely practicum guide is still incomplete and inadequate. (3) The first semester biology student IAIN Kerinci's perceptions regarding the implementation of general boiology practicum, firstly in each practicum the teaching assistant is still not right to use the strategy properly. Second, the media displayed is good, and also for the practicum schedule it has been said on schedule.

Abstract

The government's plan to vaccinate the Indonesian population for Covid-19 has encountered obstacles due to the emergence of hoaxes regarding the Covid-19 vaccine. Several students of Biology Department of IAIN Kerinci who have contracted biotechnology courses, that some of these students have not dared to be vaccinated against Covid-19 because they were affected by the Covid-19 vaccine hoax. The research was conducted on students who had contracted biotechnology courses at the Biology Department of IAIN Kerinci, using quantitative methods and correlational approaches. From the results of the study, it was found that the level of understanding of students' biotechnology was in a low category, namely 42.85% with a frequency of 27 respondents. Meanwhile, students' stress coping strategies in receiving the Covid-19 vaccine were in the high category, namely 84.12% with a frequency of 53 respondents. The results of the correlation analysis show a significance value of 0.007 and it means that there is a relationship between the two variables in this study, but the interpretation of the correlation is categorized as low with a correlation coefficient value of 0.335. This means that increasing understanding of biotechnology will affect the improvement of students' stress coping strategies in receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.
