Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pembinaan bagi para petani Desa Duman khususnya istri mereka untuk mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan pohon gaharu mereka melalui aplikasi pendorong pertumbuhan dan pemangkasan. Peserta pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah istri Petani Desa Duman. Pengabdian masyarakat ini diawali dengan sosialisasi tentang pentingnya mendorong pertumbuhan dan pemangkasan pada budidaya gaharu. Kemudian, para peserta diberi kesempatan untuk mempraktekkan teori yang mereka peroleh dari sosialisasi. Fitohormon giberelin adalah penginduksi pertumbuhan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini. Dosis fitohormon tersebut adalah 1 gr untuk 2 liter air. Pemangkasan dilakukan dengan menebang cabang pucuk pohon gaharu menggunakan gunting tanaman. Daun dari cabang yang sudah dipotong pada kegiatan pemangkasan dapat diolah menjadi teh gaharu. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta telah memahami tentang penerapan pendorong pertumbuhan dan pemangkasan untuk mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan pohon gaharu.Application of Growth Regulators and Pruning Activities in Optimizing Agarwood Cultivation in Duman Village, Lingsar District, West LombokAbstractThe aim of this community service is to give training for farmers of Duman Village, especially their wife, to optimize growth of their agarwood tree by application of promoting growth inducer and pruning. The participants on this community service were Farmers’s wife of Duman Village. This community service started by socialization about the important of promoting growth inducer and pruning activity on agarwood cultivation. Then, the participants were given an opportunity to practice the theory that they got from the socialization. Gibberellins phytohormone was the promoting growth inducer that was used in this activity. The dose of that phytohormone was 1 gr for 2 liter water. Pruning activity was conducted by cutting top branch of agarwood tree using plant scissors. Leaves from branch that has been cut on the pruning activity could be processed to produce agarwood tea. It could be concluded that participant has already understood about application of promoting growth inducer and pruning activity to optimize growth of agarwood tree.

Abstract

Microalgae-based researches are one of the interesting topics to date due to its wide applications for commercial industries. One of the vital issues that remain in the production of large-scale microalgae is the harvesting process of microalgae culture. There are several techniques that can be used in harvesting microalgae and each algae will be showing a different result. In this research, the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis were harvested using flocculation-filtration method. Alum in different dosages, range from 0.25-2 g/L, was used as flocculants and the mixing duration was investigated to seek out the best harvesting efficiency. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the optimum flocculation process was alum addition of 1 g/L culture that continuously stirring for 5 minutes long. In which the flocculation efficiency reaches 94.5%.

Abstract

Pohon gaharu banyak terdapat di sekitar areal pertanian desa Duman dan sebagin besar tidak dimanfaatkan dengan optimal. Padahal bahan tersebut merupakan bahan baku minuman teh herbal yang berkualitas. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan istri petani untuk mengolah daun gaharu menjadi minuman teh herbal. Kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu memberikan keterampilan baru bagi istri petani desa Duman sehinnga mampu membantu perekonomian keluarga. Partisipan dalam kegiatan ini sebanyak 20 orang istri anggota kelompok tani Duman. Pengabdian ini dibagi menjadi dua tahap: tahap teori dan tahap praktek. Partisipan diberikan materi terkait bagaimana mengolah daun gaharu menjadi teh herbal pada tahap teori. Praktek langsung dilakukan oleh parisipan berdasarkan teori yang sudah mereka peroleh. Partisipan telah memahami bahwa urutan sistematis pengolahan daun gaharu menjadi teh herbal meliputi: 1) Pemilihan daun, 2) Pengeringan Daun, 3) Pencacahan daun, 4) Oksidasi daun, 5) Penyeduhan daun. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman partisipan rata – rata sebesar 70% mengenai metode pengolahan daun gaharu menjadi teh gaharu secara sitematis. Partisipan memiliki peluang yang bagus untuk mengembangkan produk teh tersebut menjadi industri rumah tangga. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Istri anggota kelompok tani desa Duman telah memahami cara pengolahan daun gaharu menjadi minuman teh yang berkualitas. Kata kunci: Pengolahan daun, Teh gaharu, Istri petani ABSTRACT Agarwood trees on rice field of Duman Village were not been utilized optimally. On the other hand, this material was a good source of herbal tea. The purpose of this community service is to give training to farmer’s wife of Duman Village about how to process agarwood leaves into herbal tea. This community service should give new skill to farmer’s wife of Duman village so they could give additional income for their family. Twenty participants of this community service consist of farmer’s wife of Duman Village. This community service including two main steps: Theoritical stage and Practical stage. Participant were given theory of processing agarwood leaves into herbal tea in theoretical stage. Participants applied theory that they already got in practical stage. Participant were fully understood about agarwood processing into herbal tea with systematic method. That method including 5 steps: 1) Selecting leaves, 2) Drying leaves, 3) Chopping leaves, 4) Oxidizing leaves, 5) Brewing leaves. There is 70% average improvement on participants knowledge about processing agarwood leaves into herbal tea based on pre-test and post-test. This herbal tea product has good prospect to be developed into home industry product by participants. It could be concluded farmer’s wife of Duman Village were fully understood about agarwood leaves processing method to produce good quality of herbal tea. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui metabolit sekunder apa saja yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol daun jambu mete dan mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol daun jambu mete. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan penapisan fitokimia dan uji aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol dan fraksi-fraksi ekstrak etanol daun jambu mete muda yang berasal dari daerah Kayangan, Lombok Utara. Berdasarkan uji fitokimia diketahui bahwa ekstrak etanol dari daun jambu mete muda mengandung metabolit sekunder jenis polifenol, tanin, flavonoid, dan steroid. Dari hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol dan fraksi-fraksinya bersifat aktif sebagai antioksidan terhadap radikal bebas DPPH. Dimana, fraksi etanol-air merupakan fraksi yang paling aktif dengan nilai IC­50 sebesar 0,26 ppm, sedangkan fraksi yang paling kurang aktif adalah fraksi n-heksan dengan IC50 sebesar 10,72 ppm. The aims of this research were to find out which secondary metabolite that potential as antioxidant from ethanol extract of cashew leaf and to find out the radical scavenging activity from ethanol extract of cashew leaf. The sample of this research was the young leaf of cashew taken from Kayangan, North Lombok. Phytochemical screening and antioxidant assay have been conducted to ethanol extract and its fractions. The result of phytochemical screening shown that etanol extract of young cashew leaf contain of polyphenol, tannin, flavonoid, and steroid. Based on antioxidant assay using DPPH method, it can be concluded that ethanol extract and its fractions were highly active as scaveging agent compared to synthetic antioxidant BHA. Where, ethanol-water fraction is the most active fraction with IC50 value of 0,26 ppm, while the least active fraction is n-hexane fraction with IC50 value of 10.72 ppm.

Abstract

Industri tahu dalam proses pengolahannya menghasilkan limbah, baik limbah padat maupun cair. Limbah cair tahu bersifat asamdan mengandung bahan organik yang tinggi. Apabila limbah ini dialirkan ke sungai tanpa proses penanganan yang baik maka air sungai berubah warna menjadi coklat kehitaman dan berbau busuk. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan daun bambu dan arang bambu untuk meningkatkan kualitas fisik limbah cair tahu melalui metode filtrasi. Rancangayang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan komposisi arang dan daun bambu yaitu P1 (5 cm daun bambu: 15 cm arang batang bambu), P2 (10 cm daun bambu: 10 cm arang batang bambu), P3 (15 cm daun bambu: 5 cm arang batang bambu). Parameter fisik yang diamati meliputi kekeruhan, aroma, warna, suhu, dan TSS limbah cair tahu. Pemberian daun bambu dana rang bambu perpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kulitas fisik limbah cair tahu. Hasil terbaik diperoleh pada perlakuan P3 dimana dihasilkan rata-rata persentase penurunan kekeruhan 58,80%, kenaikan nilai warna 400%, penurunan suhu 49,32%, penurunan nilai TSS 60%. Terjadinya peningkatan warna air limbah setelah melewati media filtrasi diduga disebabkan oleh arang aktif dari bambu ikut terlarut oleh air karena ukurannya yang kecil sehingga menyebabkan warna dan TSS pada air limbah mengalami kenaikan, namun paling aman untuk dibuangke lingkungan.

Abstract

Mikroalga merupakan mikroorganisme fotosintetik yang hidup di lingkungan berair, baik di air tawar maupun air laut. Potensi aplikasinya yang sangat beragam dan meluas menyebabkan mikroalga menjadi salah satu fokus penelitian di berbagai negara dengan berbagai tujuan tertentu. Beberapa aplikasi dari mikroalga antara lain sebagai biofuel dan bioetanol, pewarna dan pengawet alami, suplemen makanan, komponen obat atau vaksin, komponen sel surya berpemeka pigmen, sel inang pada rekayasa genetika, dan lain-lain. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengisolasi beberapa spesies mikroalga laut yang berasal dari Pantai Mapak Pulau Lombok. Target luaran penelitian ini adalah artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan pada jurnal nasional. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah streak platting dan pour platting. Medium yang digunakan untuk pertumbuhan mikroalga terdiri dari dua jenis, yaitu medium Walne dan Guillard. Sedangkan konsentrasi air laut yang digunakan terdiri dari dua jenis, yaitu salinitas 25 ppt dan 35 ppt. Hasil dari beberapa kali platting dengan variasi teknik maupun medium tetap menghasilkan isolat yang terkontaminasi bakteria dan jamur. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan isolasi ulang dengan merubah metode dan teknik yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan isolat murni.

Abstract

Microalgae is an aquatic microorganism that conducts photosynthesis. It plays a vital role as an oxygen producer in the marine ecosystem. A freshwater microalgae, Haematococcus pluvialis, has been utilized as a health supplement and industrial application which is beneficial for human. In addition to physical and chemical factors, nutrient composition is one crucial thing that contributes to the growth of microalgae. This present study aimed to determine and compare the growth rate of Haematococcus pluvialis cultivated in two culture medium, Walne’s and Guillard. The culture conditions observed were light intensity, photoperiod of light-dark hours, temperature, inoculum concentration of medium’s liquid, and cell density. This study confirmed that Walne’s media produced much higher biomass (247x104 cells/mL) than Guillard’s medium (209.6x104 cells/mL). The aspect to be further performed on H. pluvialis biomass is exploring its high-value bio compound.

Abstract

Cassava is a local commodity that can be processed into functional food. Functional food is defined as a food or drink that provides nutrients for the body while simultaneously maintaining a healthy body. Although there has been a long tradition of processing cassava into traditional snacks, the decreasing interest of consumers, especially young people, in traditional snacks makes it necessary to innovate products. For instance, the processing of cassava into contemporary products such as nuggets, sponge cake, and tapai drinks. The objective of this community service activity is to educate partners regarding the necessity of consuming functional food, particularly from local commodities such as cassava, and to instruct partners on the processing of cassava, which is abundant in their area, into various functional food products with commercial value. The partners of this activity were members of the West Lombok 'Aisyiyyah Regional Leadership (PDA), a total of 16 women. The service activity is divided into three sessions: functional food counselling, cassava processing practice, and practice using sealers to package products. Prior to and following the activity, participants were administered a test to assess the impact of the service activity on their knowledge and skills in processing functional food and packaging products. The results of the pre- and post-test data processing indicate that there have been significant changes (32.5% improvement) in the participants' knowledge. Furthermore, the results of the observations of the participants' practical activities demonstrate that all participants have been able to process cassava into a variety of contemporary functional food products with a selling value and have become proficient in using cup and hand sealers.

Abstract

The Aisyiyyah Regional Leadership (PDA) is one of the organisations under Muhammadiyah that has women members distributed across all provinces in Indonesia. One such organisation is the North Lombok PDA. The North Lombok PDA has a significant number of members who are micro-entrepreneurs, but they are still lacking in terms of product promotion. The objective of this service activity is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the North Lombok PDA members in the domains of product packaging and digital-based marketing. The methodology employed in this service activity is Participatory Action Research, wherein the partners assume an active role in the activity. The enhancement of the participants' knowledge and abilities was gauged through pre- and post-tests and practical assessments. The effectiveness of the service is evaluated through a satisfaction questionnaire completed by participants at the conclusion of the event. The service activity was conducted over a two-day period and was executed in an orderly and seamless manner. The results of the pre- and post-test data processing demonstrate that there was an increase in the participants' knowledge before and after they were given counselling material. The increase in participant knowledge was 25%. In conclusion, the results of the participant satisfaction questionnaire indicate that the service activity was a success. The participants' assessment per indicator was predominantly positive, with the majority scoring in the good and excellent categories.
