Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the motivation and learning achievement of class VIII students who get treatment with the Problem Based Learning model is better than the conventional learning model. This type of research is quantitative research. In this study using a questionnaire to determine student learning motivation and tests to determine student learning achievement. The sampling technique with Cluster Random Sampling from the population of class VIII students. Data collection techniques with documentation, tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques in this study were Multivariate Normality Test, Homogeneity Test of Covariance Matrix, T2 Hotelling Trace Test and independent t-test. From the initial data the daily test scores and learning motivation questionnaire scores are used to determine whether the conditions of the two classes are balanced. From the final data of the experimental and control classes with data analysis techniques such as preliminary data, it can be concluded that motivation and learning achievement of students using the Problem Based Learning model is better than conventional learning models.

Abstract

Industrial era 4.0, is an era of challenges and hopes for the world of education. In this disruptive era, education must be able to improve and innovate in order to survive and continue to face the challenges of the times. The world of education has great hopes in the era of digitalization in an effort to facilitate the achievement of educational goals. This article wants to provide an overview of flipped classroom learning strategies in the 4.0 era with all the challenges. Based on the results of research that have been carried out proven flipped classroom strategy can effectively improve student chemistry learning outcomes. The research was carried out through a quantitative approach using an experimental method with 2x2 Treatment by Level design on chemistry subjects on Thermochemistry subject matter and rate of reaction. Thermochemistry and rate of reaction are the subjects with the lowest achievement in the 2016 National Examination (UN) results, which is 27% in Thermochemistry and 31% in the rate of reaction. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate learning strategies that are expected to be appropriate and can improve student learning outcomes in this 4.0 era. Then how should flipped classroom learning strategies be packaged in this disruptive era?

The purpose of the study is to describe (1) the difficulties experienced by students in solving basic chemistry problems, (2) factors that cause student learning difficulties in learning basic chemistry. This research is descriptive research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Research subjects of Mathematics Education Study Program students who attend odd semester 2018/2019 basic chemistry lectures. The selection of sample classes uses purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out by carrying out a question-based test in the form of descriptions and non-tests in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that the absorption of students for limiting reagents was 56.95%, calculation of acid base ph was 60.5%, identification of base acids 59.55%, colloids 64.1%, naming hydrocarbon compounds 64.9%, and writing structures ahaidrocarbon compounds 67.35%. Factors that cause learning difficulties consist of interest, motivation, concentration, study habits, intelligence. Student interest is 40%, motivation is 24%, concentration 36%, study habits 32%, and intelligence 28%

Abstract

The research aims to produce a learning model that is expected to be easy, effective and practically applied in the learning process. The model developed is the JINEMAM model which is a combination of the Jigsaw, Example Non Example and Make a Match model. This research in its development process uses the 4D development model from thiagarajan namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The instruments used were validation sheets, legibility questionnaires and pretest-posttest questions. For product trials and legibility using 32 students of the 2014 Biology study program. The results of the data analysis showed that the learning model was very valid. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the learning model is feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

This study uses a quasi-experimental method with the final design control test of mathematical communication skills in terms of student personality through personality tests. The sample of this study was students of class XI-IPS in MAN 6 Kampung Dukuh and MAN 6 Cibubur East Jakarta in the odd semester 2018/2019 Academic Year as many as 88 people. The instrument used in this study is a description question and personality questionnaire. The results showed that 1) The ability of mathematical communication students who got the cooperative jigsaw method was higher than the students who received conventional learning, 2) There were interactions between learning methods and personalities on mathematical communication skills, 3) Mathematical communication skills of students with extroverted personalities given jigsaw cooperative method treatment is higher than those given conventional learning treatment, 4) Mathematical communication skills of students with introverted personalities treated with cooperative jigsaw methods are lower than those given conventional learning treatments. Thus, jigsaw cooperative learning is better applied to students with an extracurricular personality.

Abstract

Students’ autonomy toward teacher during the learning activities leads one-way learning. Consequently, students have less autonomy in the learning activities. Therefore, this research adressed to implement the media computer based instruction (simulation model) in improving the students’ autonomy in a science learning. The total participants in this research were 79 of the 4th grade students from a purposively primary schools during the first semester of 2018. They were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group (n=55) and the control group (n=24). The research used a pre-test post-test quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The students’ autonomy data were collected by using the observation sheet for each of post-test and pre-test which consisted of five aspects i.e. motivation, initiative, confidence, discipline, and responsibility. The independent sample t-test was used statistically to compare the average score of the students’ autonomy during the pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 11.0 statistics program. The findings of the research indicated that computer based instruction (simulation model) affects the students’ autonomy significantly in the science learning. Thus, the researcher believes in the further study, the computer based instructions (simulation model) can be intergrated with the model or method in the learning activity to improve the students’ autonomy in learning science.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the process and the result of the increase of natural intelligence in early childhood B1 RA Asy-Syafi` Kota Tangerang 2018-2019 through research and development science fiction method. The subjects of this study were 12 children. This research method is based on Action Research model of Kemmis and Mc Taggart which includes four stages: planning, action and observation, reflection. This action study was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of 6 meetings. The data collected used in this action research are interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative and quantitative. The result showed that the increased natural intelligence of early childhood RA Asy-Syafi` Kota Tangerang 2018-2019 through science fiction method. The rate of development of focused attention obtained by early childhood in pre cycle is 42,50%. In the first cycle the score is 68,50% and the second cycle is 86,33%. This research reveals that research and development science fiction method is one solution to increase of natural intelligence early childhood.

Abstract

Students 'ability to understand the concept of physics is still weak, so it is necessary to use learning resources that are able to improve students' conceptual understanding. This study aims to determine the effect of android-based multimedia modules on understanding the physics concepts of high school students in static fluid material. The sample of this study was students of class XI MIA 1 and XI MIA 2 of SMA 1 Raman Utara. This study was conducted using the type of pretest-posttest control group design. The data obtained were then tested by N-gain analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, independent sample t-test, and effect size test. Data from the study were collected using pretest and posttest with conceptual understanding indicators. The results show that there is an influence of the use of multimedia modules on understanding students' concepts in static fluid material. The results of the study obtained an average N-gain score of the experimental class and control class of 0.54 and 0.31 with the medium category and the effect size value of 2.8 with a large category. The results of different tests using independent sample t-test <0.05 showed that there were significant differences in students' ability to understand concepts using using multimedia-based android modules and students using print modules.
