Abstract

PT Semen Padang is the oldest cement factory in Indonesia was established on March 18, 1910. Semen Padang is located in the Village District of Lubuk Kilangan Indarung Madya city of Padang, approximately 15 km from the center of Padang West Sumatra at an altitude of 350 above sea level. PT Semen Padang not only produce high quality cement, but also manufacture cement bags which will facilitate the distribution of cement. Bags of cement were produced under the Ministry of Transportation Distribution and PT Semen Padang or Bureau bag factory located at Km 2 By Pass street, Padang. Bureau bag factory produces 40 Kg bag with size and the size of 50 kg. Based on the results of the overall discussion on the control of product quality cement bags known that quality control is implemented is still not optimal. Paretto diagram of the processing, there are six causes of disability among other cement bags 1. Defects in the logo, 2. Glue the tube body portion is not flat, 3. Tube not cut / no separate, 4. Installation of the valve / valve is not appropriate, 5. Glue at the top and bottom of the bag uneven, and 6. Fold the top and bottom are not perfect. The most dominant defect occurs during the production process on line IV, namely, fold the top and bottom of the bag is not perfect for 26 280 of the 77 295 total defective products, defective bags or 34% of the total number of defective products and improper valve installation for 23 575 of the 77 295 total products disability, which has a defect rate of 30.5% of the existing number of defective products. Selanjutya based on analysis of a causal diagram is known that factors that cause many machining equipment occurred a defective product, so it needs to be evaluated again on machinery and equipment so as to reduce or eliminate defects that may occur. Abstract

Computers have a system that has the ability to help people in solving problems, with their decision support systems can improve the quality of decision support system that will be created. For example, the bark berkualitas.Sistem seed selection to be made in the decision making is by using SAW (Simple Additive Weighting). These applications seek a weighted summation of the performance rating for each alternative on all attributes, and requires a decision matrix normalization process to a scale that can be compared with all the ratings of existing alternatives. The report will describe the decision support system in the process of selection of seeds with good quality bark. Abstract

Cement Bags Division at PT. Semen Padang in Padang has an important division to produce a number of problem. Bags produced of two types, including sewing bag and pasted bag. Quality problems or quality in production has always been a complex problem in the process of production. The tolerance limit of 1.2% the company but   many defects that over range becomes a major problem because over cost quality. This research was done because of the quality problems at the cement bags division PT. Semen Padang. This purpose study was to apply the Six Sigma method in reduce product defects.The result of applying six sigma calculate internal failure costs. Data processing and analysis techniques used in this study is the six sigma method (define, measure, analysis, improve and control). In the calculation capability sigma and DPMO (Defect per million opportunites) using six sigma calculator.  The results of this study showed that based on calculations using six sigma method with the DMAIC approach (define, measure, analyze, improve and control) can reduce product defects and internal failure costs caused by the defective product. Key Words: Six Sigma, DMAIC, Defect Products, Failure Costs.

Abstract

Penelitian Perancangan Sistem Informasi Pemesanan Makanan Pada Berkah Catering Padang Panjang dengan Bahasa Pemograman Visual Basic 6.0 dan Mysql, dilakukan mulai tanggal 20 April s/d 20 Mei 2014. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menyediakan suatu program Informasi yang dapat mempercepat proses kerja pada Berkah Catering Padang Panjang. Untuk merealisasikan program ini di gunakan Bahasa Pemograman Visual Basic 6.0. Abstract

  Administrative services mail at ISI Padangpanjang still use the procedures manual by recording the letter into an agenda book, followed by the processing stages of each leader to leader next, this process is done manually by the staff of managers by delivering direct mail to any room leaders and stakeholders, so that the effectiveness of the service is not optimal. Abstract

Adhesives ( adesive ) is a very important material in the plywood industry, the amount of adhesives commonly used in the industry is an adhesive containing chemicals Urea formaldehyde . Urea Formaldehyde is a chemical compound which, when exposed to heat slightly will cause emissions which produce toxic gases that can pollute the air and cause health problems , can cause respiratory irritation and may even cause cancer .As a substitute for urea formaldehyde can be used natural materials containing tannin , tannin is widely available in a variety of plants , tannin present in the stems , bark , leaves and roots of plants. Manufacture of plywood adhesive of the leaf lamtoro besides environmentally friendly , can also increase the economic value of the leaves lamtoro .The process of making plywood adhesive of the leaf lamtoro by means of extraction with water at a temperature of 70 ° C for 2-5 hours , the adhesive quality test results are as follows : pH 6.8 ; Viscosity (thickness ) 1973.72 cps , density 1.0761 g / ml ; Test appearance ( color adhesive greenish brown , the smell is not overpowering ; does not appear any other materials that affect the adhesive ; content of 21.77 % solids ; gelatinasi time 39 minutes ; strong bonding strength ; the shelf life of one month. The cost of production of plywood adhesives of leaves lamtoro Rp.20.788.322 - with a production capacity of 1100 kg , in order to obtain the production cost of Rp.18 898,- /kg sticking plywood of leaves lamtoro . Keywords: Adhesives, Leaf lamtoro, manufacturing process, quality, cost of production.

Abstract

Coal is a natural resource that can not be updated and will be depleted when used continuously. PT Semen Padang is a cement industries that use coal as fuel in large quantities which can increase production costs. It should be considered for alternative materials that can be used as fuel. The example is plastic waste that has tremendous potential as an alternative fuel. For that conducted research on the make of plastic waste into briquettes with technology Plastic Waste as alternative fuel to substitute for coal in the kiln PT Semen Padang from two types of plastic waste, is garbage plastic bags (PP) and a glass of mineral water plastic waste (PET). This study aims to determine the quality of briquettes, to obtain a picture of whether plastic pellets briquettes can be used as a substitute for coal and a comparison of the use of coal briquettes plastic pellets in the kiln PT Semen Padang. From the test, it is known that the briquettes garbage plastic bags have a calorific value of 10.112 cal/gram, ash content of 3,90%, 0,36% moisture and volatile content of 94,74%. And briquettes from waste plastic glasses of mineral water has a calorific value of 10.844 cal/gram, ash content of 0,27%, 0,42% moisture and volatile content of 99,27%. From these results it can be seen that the briquettes from waste glasses of mineral water has a better quality. And when compared with the specifications of coal used in the kiln Indarung IV calorific value 5200 - 5600 cal/gram, maximum ash content of 20% and a maximum water content of 10%, then the two types of briquette plastic pellets can be used as a fuel substitute for coal. Based on the comparison of calorific value and the use of coal in the kiln Indarung IV which is an average of 35 tons / hour, then the ratio of the amount of usage of coal with briquettes from waste plastic bags is 1: 0.53, and with briquettes from waste plastic glasses of mineral water is 1: 0.50. Keywords: plastic waste, coal, briquettes, quality, fuel

Abstract

Issue formal education become a common topic today is the low student learning outcomes. Based on the research conducted so far, it turns out low yields due to student learning in general chemistry students have difficulty in analyzing chemical material that is both abstract and resolve problems related to chemical reactions, this happens due to lack of understanding by students. One of the learning strategies that encourage students to seek and find something in learning is through guided inquiry strategies. In support of this strategy, the group used the system to learn and make teaching materials in the form of chemistry learning modules based on guided inquiry learning cycle. The subjects were students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung. This type of research is the development of research with the development of type 4D models. Validation results showed that the chemistry learning modules in the subject  matter of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution has  a  moment  kappa of  0.84. These results reveal that, the product is in conformity with the curriculum and the correct concept. Field trial results show the practicality of the value of products made based on the assessment of teachers' questionnaire responses with kappa of 0.91 and a moment of assessment student questionnaire responses by 0.95. Based on the results of this study concluded that the developed learning modules are very practical for use in the learning process. It is also proved by testing students' understanding of the effectiveness of a product with an average score of 85.8. It can be concluded that using the students' understanding of chemistry learning modules in the category so well that the product is very effective for use in learning. Keywords:  Learning Module Chemistry, Main Material Electrolytes and Nonelectrolytes, Guided Inquiry.

Abstract

Randang Kacang is Small and Medium scale industries engaged in food. This industry have a standard of production, to meet the needs of consumers. This  utilized manpower to expedite the process of production. The production process is carried out in the room that have higher temperature. And the production room that has not had a lighting system, workers can lead to carelessness causes accidents, so that workers are not comfortable in working. Therefore we need an increase in Occupational Health and Safety. So workers can work comfortably, healthy and safe during the production process.  In this researched  need to perform the installation of the turbine ventilator, aiming to stabilize room temperature in the production room, according to the Indonesian National Standard  (SNI). Including to  design of artificial lighting systems. Utilized TL bulbs (flourescent) in some point in the production process rooms to avoid the worker  accidents. Installation of turbine ventilator performed at the top of the roof. At the top of the roof installed 2 turbine ventilator which has a diameter of 60 cm. Turbine ventilator can absorb 200% more air temperature. To reduce lack of lightening sistems utilized 18 watt Philips TL light bulbs (fluorescent) in 28 points according to SNI.  Keyword: Accident,Turbine Ventilator, SNI, Lighting Systems
