Abstract

Online learning was currently applied as a solution for education during the Covid-19 pandemic era in Indonesia. Disadvantages of online learning are lack of student discipline, lack of motivation because most learning activities are in the form of online assignments, constraints on the internet, and technological devices. However, several aspects were required to be evaluated to optimally achieve the learning goals. This study aimed to investigate the implementation of online geography learning at public senior high schools using the CIIP evaluation model. The population was geography teachers and social studies class students at the school. Furthermore, the sample was taken using the purposive sampling technique applying the Slovin formula with a significance level of 0.5%. Data were collected through survey and interview methods and then analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. Analyzing the context, input, process, and product, this research indicated that the online geography learning was well implemented with 75% criteria fulfilled. Therefore, the online learning program could be continued with some improvements.

Abstract

The ability of teachers in Bali to write lesson plans that contain local wisdom is also low, while the competence of local wisdom is high. It happens because the teacher does not yet have a guideline to be used as a reference in compiling the syllabus and lesson plans. This study aims to analyze the implications of applying the geography curriculum based on local wisdom and its textbooks to the cosmocentric attitude of high school students in the highlands of Bali. This study was designed as a "causal-comparative study" with purposively determined samples in two public high schools in the highlands of Bali. Data from teaching were collected using observation sheets and data about students' cosmocentric attitudes using a questionnaire (Likert model). Data were analyzed quantitatively using a t-test at a significance level of 1%. The results showed that the scores of students' concentric attitudes in the highlands of Bali increased after implementing the Geography curriculum based on local wisdom and textbooks as a complement to teaching Geography. The increase occurred consistently in all classes (Class X, XI, and XII), with an average score of 25.58% increase. The results of statistical tests show a significant difference in cosmocentric attitudes before and after implementing the geography curriculum based on local wisdom with textbooks as a complement to teaching. It shows that the supplement to the local-based geography curriculum and textbooks has positive implications for the cosmocentric attitude of students in senior high schools in the highlands of Bali.

Abstract

Nowadays online learning causes a decrease in student understanding. One of the factors that influence this decrease is the student's thinking disposition. Thus, it is important to identify the dispositions needed by students to support their success in online learning. The purpose of this study was to identify the disposition of learning independence that is used as a supporter of successful online learning. The method of this research is quantitative research with a survey approach. The sample of this study consisted of 138 students in the mathematics education study program. The data collected in this study are the results of filling out questionnaires and student opinions related to thinking dispositions. The survey results show that there are four components of thinking disposition that are needed by students to be successful in online learning, namely: persistence, motivation, communication, and self-regulation. These four components are interrelated with each other. Someone successful in learning must have persistence, where persistence is built from motivation. Someone persistent and motivated must also be able to communicate with various parties. Persistence, motivation, and communication must pay attention to self-regulation. These four components of thinking disposition can be used to support student success.

The sample of this study amounted to 741 students who were selected incidentally. Analyzing psychometric property data based on Item Response Theory includes item feasibility (item measure, item fit order, and instrument quality (unidimensionality, rating scale, item reliability, person reliability, and test reliability) using Rasch Model v. 3.73. The results show that SCI has good psychometric properties. Further studies are needed to examine the psychometric properties of SCI for high school students from various socio-demographic factors of participants.
