Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of economic, technical and price efficiency of the catfish cultivation of the participants of catfish cultivation training at BPPP Banyuwangi, while analyzed includes factors that affect the efficiency of production. The data analysis used is Cobb Douglas stochastic frontier analysis estimated by Ordinary Least Square Method (OLS). OLS method aims to determine the efficiency of the average performance of catfish cultivation business. Estimation with maximum likelihood (EML) method aims to know the level of technical efficiency, using frontier computation program version 4.1. To know the efficiency of the price is known by calculating the value of marginal product (VMP) of the production factor. The results showed that the level of economic efficiency (EML) catfish cultivation business in regency Tabanan Bali, Banyuwangi, Blitar, three factors of production are in the rational area, but not yet efficient because the value of coefficient of pond (X1) 0198, fish fry (X4) 0456 and feed (X5) 0423. While the other four factors of production are inefficient, because they are in irrational area with negative coefficient value, ie fertilizer production factor (X2) -1.74, lime (X3) -4.18, probiotic (X6) -1.54, labor (X7) -9.59 . and value of experience variables of cultivators (Z1) 0.3200385, age of fishery cultivators (Z2) 0.2602872 and formal education (Z3) -0.0571254. For the efficiency of price obtained value of VMP each factor of production Area of ​​pond (X1) 0,00004745, NPM Lime (X4) 0,00000026 and NPM Feed (X5) 0,00000012. For NPM of the four factors of production Fertilizer (X2) -0,00791951, Lime (X3) -0.01723183 Probiotics (X6) -0.01819837 and Labor (X7) -0.17465781. Overall price efficiency achieved is 0.21796 and economic efficiency of 3.48147

Abstract

Flavobacterium columnare has been isolated from the cultivation of tilapia. Clinically, this bacterial infection is characterized by the occurrence of whitish gray changes in some parts of the head, around the mouth, gills, fins or body. The disease often ends in death, which causes great economic losses in the aquaculture industry. Of the 15 samples taken, only 5 samples showed clinical characteristics that were chronic. After tested by conventional method, only 3 samples showed F.columnare characteristic with bacterial colonies of pale yellow bacteria isolate with rhizoid edges, small size, long stem, gram negative and motile. The results of histopathologic testing of muscle organs, fins and gills, showed the presence of bacterial colonies suspected of F. colloid in muscle and also some necrosis points. In the kidney there are many macrophages and infiltration of inflammatory cells, while on the fins seen the existence of congestion and inflammatory cells. The gill damage found was hyperplasia that developed into fusion, congestion and necrosis.

Abstract

Gelatin is one type of protein degradation of triple helix collagen structure with the aid of acid and heat. Fish gelatin is very potential to be used as alternative gelatin substitute gelatin of cow or pig. The objective of this research was to utilize fish curry head as processed gelatin source using hydrochloric acid (HCl) 2,98% with extraction temperature 74 oC and extraction time 5,42 hours and gelatin production result compared with commercial gelatin. The yield of gelatin is 4.92%. characteristic pink perch gelatin are water content 8.23%, ash content 0.85%, protein content 88.54%, fat content 0.13%, gel strength 311,01 g.bloom, viscosity 5 cP, pH 5.43, gel temperature 10,12 oC and melting temperature 20,37 oC. Based on t-test, the physicochemical characteristics generated by the gelatin of pink perch head are generally lower than that of commercial gelatin.

Abstract

The aim of study to determine the environmental quality, content and distribution of heavy metals in the waters of the Wangi River, Beji Sub-District, Pasuruan Regency in relation to the interests of environmental conservation around the river. Method of sampling doned by chosen, taking into account the condition of research area, current and depth of research area.The intended to see to what extent pollutant concentrations are spreading. Observation of water quality during research in different seasons of the rainy season (October 2016 to February 2017) and dry season (March to September 2017). Based on the results of environmental quality testing and heavy metals can be concluded that the environmental quality at the Wangi river flow is already at the threshold, so that the required waste prevention and environmental conservation activities. This should get great attention from the public in general and the local government in particular. The hope for the future is pollution of the Wangi River can be avoided and overcome.

Abstract

The study aimed to obtain isolate of cellulolytic bacteria from leaf litter on mangrove in Bangka Island. Sampling was conducted on mangroves in Sungailiat, Bangka and Tukak Sadai, South Bangka district. The isolation was carried out using 1% enriched agarmedia of Carboxymetyl Cellulose (CMC). The bacterial isolates were tested with cellulolytic growth on 1% enriched CMC agar medium and lugol added at 72 hours. The clear zone resultingindicates cellulose degradation ability. The positive isolate of cellulolyticwas identified by biochemical tests. 1 of 5 isolates in Sungailiat positive cellulolytic mangroves and identified as Bacillus subtilis. 2 of 5 isolates in mangrove Tukak Sadai is positive as a cellulolytic bacteria and identified as Staphylococcus saproviticus and Bacillus cereus.

Abstract

Racewaytechnological is a cultivation technology innovation that is able to increase production and productivity. Its development can be done in all areas with large water source discharge and flowing throughout the year, one of which is Banjaran Irrigation. Survey along the irrigation area of Banjaran, Purwokerto with purposive sampling technique is done with the aim to know the potential location of the application of red tilapia fish rearing technology. Land suitability matrics were obtained from the results of field measurements in Cijambe, Subang and Ponggok, Klaten which then performed matching with the results of research and literature supporting the enlargement of tilapia. Giving weight and score is done through approach of index overlay model. Red tilapia rearing atproductive racewaycan be conducted along the irrigation area of Banjaran, Purwokerto. There were 6 locations that can be utilized on one side and 5 locations that can be utilized on both sides.

Abstract

Immunostimulatory dose given to the fish to be precise, should not be less and should not be excessive. This is because the immunostimulatory properties which can only work at the optimal dose.Therefore,themethod fordetermining the dosage and administration techniques immunostimulatory should be studied in depth.Research on the determination of the dose and the best maceration time on the crude extract phenol Gracilaria sp. using LC50 is intended to determine how best dose and how long it's best used in the immersion process to extract.rangedose used is 1 g/l; 1,5 g/l; 2 g/l; 3 g/l; 4 g/l and 5 g/l.The results of these observations indicate that doses ≥ 3 g/l has a 10-hour LC50.While the dose ≤ 3 g/l has a 14-hour LC50.However, further research is continued in the time range for prolonged submersion namely 10, 12 and 14 hours.The results showed the soaking time 12 hours showed LC50 15 hours.It concluded that the dose that can be used to test immunostimulant is 1, 1.5 and 3 g/l with a soaking time of less than 12 hours.

Abstract

Myxosporeasis disease caused by phylum Myxozoa are obligate parasites that many dominates in freshwater. Myxozoa easily recognizable by their multicellular spores which have a typical polar capsules, and has a considerable number of species (more than 1350 species) mainly from class Myxosporea. The life cycle of this parasite occurs horizontally (indirect) involving an invertebrate (Oligochaeta) and a vertebrate host (fish or amphibians). The development of this species is quite rapidly over the last 30 years, especially in the sectors of aquaculture, andhave also been recognized as commercially important pathogen of fish, because it can cause severe economic losses in cultured fisheries. In Indonesia, Myxobolus sp.reportedly attacked various freshwater species, one of them in the cultivation of carp, because it caused the death of 60-90% of the population infected fish. The impact of the infestation Myxobolus sp. dependent on investation level and location of the cyst.Large infestations that occurred in the gills causing tissue death (necrosis) and dysfunctional breathing. Infections that occur in the intestine, will cause myoliticin the intestinal wall. The purpose of this study was to look investing parasites also macroscopic (anatomic pathology) and microscopic (histhopathological) in tissues of infected Myxobolus sp. The method of research is descriptive. Koi sample used with a length of 6-8 cm and comes from Nglegok, Blitar. Subsequently, samples were examined clinically, and are selected which produce nodules 1-4 (mild infection) and which have more than 8 nodules (severe infection) on the gills. Results of macroscopic observation showed swelling in the gills because of their reddish white nodules. In addition, the gills look pale red. Whereas in histopathology, Koi infected with spores Myxobolus sp.indicate the occurrence of fusion, congestion, hyperplasia, necrosis, inflammation and edema.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine total leucocyte and plasma protein of infected koi (Cyprinus carpio) after immersion in the extract of Gracillaria verrucosa. The experimental design of this research was Completely Randomized Design. Different doses of extract were used five treatments and three replicates. Data was analyzed by using ANOVA (one-way) there were significant different of total leucocyte. Total protein plasma at treatments of fish infected, showed protein of ben thinner. Doses immersion treatments at 19 ppm get significant effects of humoral and celluler system the infected of koi fish.

Abstract

Artificial rice sago Papua is one alternative to reduce dependence on rice. The existence of a significant difference in the chemical composition of sago Papua is a high amylose and low amylopectin contentto cause the texture of the rice produced is not good, that is necessary for a binder to improve the texture of artificial rice sago Papua. Binding agent (binder) used is gelatin originating from bones of tuna. Characterization of Papua sago artificial riceconducted to determine the texture (hardness) and the moisture content of artificial rice sago Papua. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of hardness (texture) and the moisture content of artificial ricesago Papua after adding gelatin from the bones of tuna. Characterization process begins with the manufacture of artificial rice followed by a hardness test (texture) and the moisture content of artificialrice sago Papua. The results showed a hardness value (texture) artificial rice sagoPapuais a low of 172.6075 N and high of 266.7990 N. While the moisture content of artificialrice obtained ranged from 9.62 to 9.98%.
