Abstract

The goals of this research is to analyst representation ability in solving minimum assessment competence question base on studying motivation and high school knowledge class. Research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis technique. The research subject is second grade of highschool from science, social, and language classes from two different region school include SMA from Kota and SMA from Kabupaten. This research subject from two school is 447 student, 282 from Kota, and 165 From Kabupaten while the research subject of minimum assessment competence question is 3 student from each school Kota and Kabupaten. The stages of selecting research subject from the result of filling out a learning motivation questionnaire with high, medium, and low levels. Research technique used studying motivation questionnaire, instrument test, and interview. Data analysis techniques used in this study are dara collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. There is 4 skill indicator in this research that representative mathematic and 6 studying motivation indicator. Result of this research region SMA from Kota is 22 student had low study motivation, 258 student had average study motivation, and 2 student had high study motivation, while region SMA from Kabupaten is 17 student had low study motivation, 146 student had average study motivation, and no one student had high study motivation. Meanwhile result of mathematic representative skill test can assume from this research, mathematic representative ability of student in Kota is higher in student from Kabupaten. And the mathematical representation ablity of student in science student is superior to social student and language student.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the numeracy skills of high school students in solving AKM questions in terms of the extrovert-introvert personality type. The method in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 6 students from class X IPA in one of the public high schools in North Jakarta who were taken using a purposive random sampling technique with three students each from the extroverted personality type and three other students from the introverted personality type, which was measured using the theory of Eysenck's personality is the Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI). There are 3 indicators that meet numeracy abilities. The results of this study indicate that Extrovert students have lower numeracy skills than Introvert students. Extrovert students can meet 2 ability indicators while Introvert students can meet 3 ability indicators.

Abstract

Sociomathematical norms are reflected in the activities of mathematics study in class. The purpose of this study was to study and understand the mathematical communication ability both writing and oral of middle-school students to work on statistical problem based on sociomathematical norms. This type of research method is a qualitative descriptive using case study analyzed from the given instruments. The subjects of this research are the ninth grade school year 2021/2022 of a public middle-school in Jakarta. The data collected using questionnaire and questions. The result of the research shows that the students in high, moderate, and low category have different mathematical communication ability and directly proportional to the sociomathematical norms category. Furthermore, the mathematical communication ability of the subjects in oral and writing are showing the similarity on both abilities. Nevertheless, the students’ different mathematical ability in the same sociomathematical norms category could happen which obtained from a mathematical insight outside the school study.

Abstract

The pandemic that occurred affected many sectors, one of which was the education sector. With online learning, various kinds of problems arise. One of them is worrying about anxiety in learning mathematics for students. Their initial negative perception of mathematics causes math anxiety. This study aims to determine the influence and relationship between mathematics and self-efficacy in students. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The subjects in this study found 200 respondents who were students of SMPN 2 Serang Baru from class VII to class IX. The data collected will be tested for correlation using SPSS. The study's results based on the Pearson correlation test showed that the significance value was 0.274, which means that there is a correlation that is not too strong or can be said to be small. The variable speed of mathematics and self-efficacy has a weak relationship because the correlation coefficient value is only 0.078. That is, the level of anxiety in students does not affect and is not related to the level of self-efficacy of students and vice versa.

Abstract

This research aims to describe indicators of students' mathematical problem-solving ability in solving story problems related to derivative material in male and female students based on high, medium, and low mathematical abilities. This research is based on the importance of mathematical problem-solving skills and the low ability of students to solve problems, especially in story problems. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The reduction of data that used is to group male and female students into three categories of mathematical abilities, namely high, medium and low abilities. The selection of research samples used purposive sampling techniques based on the consideration of the last value obtained by students on differential material. The research subjects consisted of 6 grade 11 students with criteria based on mathematical ability and gender. The results showed that only male students were able to meet the indicators of understanding the problem and drawing up a solution plan. Whereas on the indicators of carrying out the settlement, all subjects can write them down precisely. On the indicators of evaluating and drawing conclusions from the results obtained, only female students with low mathematical ability cannot write them down.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika ditinjau dari resiliensi matematis siswa SMA pada pembelajaran tatap muka terbatas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini siswa kelas X MIPA 3 SMAN 18 Jakarta Utara. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 3 orang terdiri dari 1 orang setiap kategori resiliensi matematis dipilih secara purposive sampling berdasarkan resiliensi matematis yang dimiliki untuk dianalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis matematikanya. Instrumen pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika, angket resiliensi matematis dan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah penyajian data, reduksi data, dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Siswa dengan resiliensi tinggi memenuhi indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu interpretasi dalam kategori baik, analisis dalam kategori sangat baik, dan evaluasi dalam kategori cukup. (2)  Siswa dengan resiliensi sedang rata-rata mampu memenuhi indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu interpretasi dalam kategori sangat baik, analisis dalam kategori sangat baik, dan evaluasi dalam kategori cukup. (3) Siswa yang memiliki resiliensi rendah hanya mampu memenuhi satu indikator kemampuan berpikir yaitu analisis dalam kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika, mencari penyebab kesalahan dan menyelesaikan persamaan linier. Subyek penelitian adalah Kelas VIII A SMP Ma'arif Ngawi yang berasal dari 3 siswa terbaik. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif  kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes wawancara, . Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat jenis-jenis kesalahan siswa, antara lain: 1. Kesalahan konseptual, konsep yang tersusun dari definisi, seperti kalimat, simbol atau rumus yang jala seperti yang dimaksudkan oleh konsep. 2. Kesalahan prinsip, kesalahan ini pada dasarnya adalah kesalahan dalam menggunakan aturan atau rumus matematika, kesalahan dalam menggunakan konsep yang berkaitan dengan persamaan linier. 3. Fakta kesalahan, Fakta adalah kesepakatan konsensus dalam matematika yang biasanya dinyatakan dengan simbol-simbol tertentu (Fathani, 2009: 59). 4. Ketrampilan (Skills). Keterampilan adalah kemampuan prosedur untuk menggunakan langkah-langkah untuk memecahkan suatu masalah. Istilah yang sering digunakan juga merupakan algoritma yang merupakan singkatan dari langkah-langkah standar untuk memecahkan masalah. Ketika mempelajari keterampilan, penekanannya adalah pada kemampuan untuk menerapkan urutan, langkah-langkah prosedur kerja. Seorang pembelajar disebut keterampilan jika ia dapat menggunakan urutan, prosedur atau langkah kerja (Shadiq, 2011; 14-15). Di skill yang paling banyak dialami siswa, karena siswa masih belum paham langkah mana yang harus dilakukan terlebih dahulu.

Abstract

Tujuan dari permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan dan menganalisis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa saat mengerjakan soal barisan dan deret. Tujuannya adalah untuk lebih meningkatkan prestasi dan keberhasilan akademik siswa. Penelitian inin menggunakan metode kualitatif. Proses pengumpulan data menggunakan tes  dan wawancara. Setiap subjek penelitian ditanya tentang keberhasilan pekerjaannya pada soal barisan dan deret. Disimpulkan bahwa siswa berusaha menggunakan metode Newman ketika mengerjakan soal matematika. Namun karena belum terbiasa, seringkali langkah-langkah tersebut tidak dilakukan dengan baik, terutama saat menulis jawaban. Mengenai kesalhan-keasalan yang dialami siswa dalam menjawab soal, tidak ditemui siswa dengan kesalhan membaca informasi. Siswa sudah mampu membaca soal dengan benar dan dapat memahami masalah yang ada didalam soal. Jenis kesalahan yang pertama dilakukan siswa terletak pada kesalahan transformasi informasi. Penyebabnya adalah siswa tidak mampu berkonsentrasi, tidak mengetahui pertanyaan yang diajukan, tidak mengingat materi yang diajarkan, tidak inngat dengan rumus yang digunakan dan tidak berkonsentrasi pada pemecahan masalah. Jenis kesalahan berikutnya adalah kesalahan keterampilan proses. Alasannya terletak pada ketelitian dari proses perhitungan pada saat menyelesaikan soal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan yaitu untuk mengetahui kesalahan yang dibuat oleh siswa dalam masalah matematika terutama dalam mengerjakan atau memecahkan masalah soal operasi aljabar dan mengetahui faktor kesalahan pada materi operasi aljabar yang telah dilakukan oleh  siswa kelas VII. Jenis penelitian yag dilakukan ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yaitu  dengan melakukan observasi, kemudian peneliti memberi beberapa soal yang diberikan kepada subjek peneliti untuk dikerjakan.Instrument tes yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berupa 4 butir soal yaitu tentang operasi bentuk aljabar yang sudah divalidasi. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B berjumlah 30 siswa yang mengikuti proses penelitian, kemudian peneliti memilih 3 siswa sebagai perwakilan subjek penelitian. Instrumen dari penelitian ini yaitu dengan melakukan observasi atau pengamatan, tes tulis dengan memberikan soal, lalu wawancara. pada hasil penelitian yang telah diamati, beserta hasil wawancara digunakan untuk menentukan faktor kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi, hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa siswa membuat banyak kesalahan dalam kesalahan konsep. Penyebab kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa yang sering terjadi biasaya terburu-buru dalam memecahkan atau menyelesaikan soal, kurangnya pemahaman rumus yang digunakan, dan tidak ada pengusaan materi aljabar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe self-efficacy during learning during the Covid-19 pandemic based on gender. Using a non-experimental design with a quantitative descriptive approach. Collecting data using 30 statement questionnaires based on every aspect needed to achieve self-efficacy conditions, namely magnitude, generality, and strength. Subjects amounted to 616 respondents, consisting of students and students from various schools and universities, obtained by random sampling technique. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics, which do not aim to draw conclusions about the entire population but rather help understand the details of the sample. The results of the study concluded that, overall, the average self-efficacy of the respondents was in the moderate category. The magnitude aspect is in the medium category and the other is high. The medium category on the magnitude shows the need for attention to the level of task difficulty, meaning that it describes students and students who will be able to do enough to do tasks that are considered feasible and avoid situations and behaviors that are beyond their capabilities. High category on generality, meaning that students’ beliefs and students to complete the given task can take place in appropriate and real situations and psychology. The high category on strength means that students and students have persistent expectations in trying to complete assignments well, even though they do not have experience. Based on gender, it was found that female and male students had self-efficacy, which tended to be the same in dealing with the dynamics of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
