Abstract

One of the efforts to protect the community against Covid-19 cases is vaccination. However, in the preparation of vaccination, there are several negative issues related to vaccines, which make people doubt and even reject the effort. Predisposing factors include age, gender, occupation, income, education level, history of contact with people with COVID, and knowledge of vaccines, which can affect acceptance of vaccines. The purpose of this activity is to find out what factors affect public acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccine. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires via google form to the general public in January 2021. The total respondents were 411 respondents. The questionnaire uses the Public Perception Survey questionnaire for the Covid-19 Vaccine in Indonesia published by WHO and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Analysis using Chi-Square test. The survey results showed that 46.2% of respondents had not decided on and refused the vaccine, and 94.2% wanted to get information about the vaccine. Factors related to vaccine acceptance include age, work in the health sector, income level, education, fear of vaccines, the thought that there are many hoaxes regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, thoughts on vaccine safety, and thoughts on the dangers of vaccines. Accurate and scientific information, accompanied by easy access to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, is needed so that people with self-awareness carry out vaccinations to reduce the morbidity and mortality of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Abstract

The pandemic caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (COVID-19) is tremendously affecting health care services worldwide due to the nature of this virus which is highly infectious with a high rate of transmission. Transmission of the COVID-19 virus quickly occurs through close contact, droplet, airborne, and faecal-oral. During the prevention and containment of the pandemic, ambulances play an important role in transporting infectious patients. Health workers working in ambulances are at high risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus considering an ambulance is a small, confined and enclosed compartment. It is necessary to find a safe way of transporting COVID-19 patients by ambulance. Methods This thesis uses a literature review method. By following the PRISMA flow diagram, research journals are gathered from the electronic database Sciencedirect and Pubmed by performing keyword searches. The results are then sorted based on predefined inclusion criteria. Nine original research journals are obtained and reviewed. Results we found a variety of control measures that can be applied in transporting COVID-19 patients safely. These control measures can be categorised using the Control Hierarchy approach which includes elimination, engineering control, administrative control and usage of personal protective equipment (PPE). Abstract

Postoperative (post-op) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) patients had complaints of pain including chest pain and pain in the area where the surgery was punctured. One of the actions that can be taken to reduce pain can be overcome with non-pharmacological therapy in the form of Benson relaxation techniques. This case study aims to describe nursing care for postoperative PCI patients who are given nursing actions using Benson relaxation techniques to reduce pain. The design of this case study uses a descriptive approach to the nursing care process with two respondents, by providing the Benson relaxation technique which is carried out for 2 x 15 minutes. Pain scale measurements were carried out before and after doing Benson relaxation. The pain scale measurement tool uses the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results of this case study show that apart from being given pharmacological measures, the Benson relaxation technique can help patients reduce pain in post-op PCI patients, whereas in patients I and II after being given relaxation measures there is a change in the pain scale from a moderate pain scale to a mild pain scale. Giving Benson relaxation is effective in helping to reduce the scale of post-PCI surgery pain.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the infectious diseases and is a major cause of poor health, thus becoming one of the leading causes of death in the world. In 2021 the World Health Organization (WHO) said that, 9.9 million people experienced TB disease worldwide. It is also estimated that every year there are 13,110 cases of people who die from TB disease. The number of TB cases in Indonesia is estimated at 845,000 cases in 2020 with 393,323 TB cases notified. According to data from the Tasikmalaya City Health Office in 2020, there were 1.045 cases of TB sufferers in Tasikmalaya City. TB disease can be cured by taking treatment for 6 months. Adherence to treatment is one way to prevent failure in TB treatment. The daily medicine box is one solution to improve patient compliance with anti-TB treatment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of daily medication use on adherence to anti-TB medication in TB patients at the Tamansari Public Health Center, Tasikmalaya City. This study uses a quantitative approach with the research method of Pre-Experimental Design, one group with pre-test & post-test. The sample was 16 respondents in this study, Wilcoxon Signed Rank test used in this research. Results: The results showed that the pretest-posttest had an effect of the daily medicine box on adherence to taking anti-TB drugs in TB patients with p-value 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between before and after being given treatment. this study recommended that TB patients apply the daily medicine box as a tool to improve adherence to taking drugs so as to reduce failure in TB treatment.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) are one of the main causes of infectious disease morbidity and mortality worldwide. Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a health problem that often occurs in children, and the group most at risk is children under five years. This study aimed to determine the relationship between nutritional status and exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of ARI in the working area of the Loa Bakung Public Health Center, Samarinda. This type of research is quantitative research using a cross-sectional approach. The samples in this study were parents of children under five who visited the Posyandu in the working area of the Loa Bakung Public Health Center, Samarinda. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total sample of 181 respondents. The analytical test used in this research is chi-square. The chi-square test results on the history of LBW obtained a p-value = 0.373 and exclusive breastfeeding with a p-value = 0.440. This shows no relationship between a history of LBW and exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of ARI at the Loa Bakung Public Health Center, Samarinda. The incidence of ARI in children under five years at the Loa Bakung Public Health Center, Samarinda, is not influenced by a history of LBW and exclusive breastfeeding. Still, other factors could have influenced the incident that was not carried out in this study. The role of parents is very important in maintaining the health of their children under five years to prevent the occurrence of ARI in their children under five years.

Abstract

Cardiac catheterization is a procedure to diagnose and evaluate coronary arteries. At the end of the procedure, the radial sheath was removed and pressure was applied both manually and mechanically to the radial artery to control bleeding until hemostasis was achieved. Inadequate compression technique on the access site of the radial artery can result in haemorrhage, hematoma, pseudo aneurysm, radial artery occlusion, and tissue ischemia. Complications of hematoma are often encountered in post-PCI patients with the method of manually applying pressure/compression to the area after the trans-radial puncture followed by a feeling of discomfort for the patient after the PCI procedure. This study aims to see the effectiveness of the TR Band as an alternative to manual compression in reducing the risk of bleeding (hematoma) in the radial artery and increasing patient comfort by using the TR Band. This case study design uses a descriptive approach to nursing care with 1 respondent with inclusion criteria for clients aged over 18 years, clients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using radial access, clients using TR Bands, clients who do not have hearing loss, can communicate verbally and cooperatively, clients with stable hemodynamic conditions after PCI, clients with normal blood coagulation laboratory results, clients receive heparin anti-coagulation of at least 5,000 IU.TR Band is carried out for 1 shift with a time of 165 minutes. Measurement of the hematoma scale after cardiac catheterization with radial access using the EASY TRIAL and the use of an oxygen saturation measurement tool (pulse oximetry). The results of this case study show that complications of hematoma with Trans Radial Band intervention in patients after cardiac catheterization did not occur. Trans Radial Band intervention is effective in reducing the risk of bleeding (hematoma) in patients after catheterization.

Abstract

The decrease in patient morbidity and mortality is influenced by quality inpatient services. Hospitalized patients can be in stable or unstable conditions. There is a phenomenon of patients whose condition is not stable being placed in inpatient, due to the limitations of the intensive care unit. These patients are at risk for worsening clinical conditions that increase morbidity and mortality. One of the efforts to improve quality related to patient safety in hospitals is the application of the Early Warning Score (EWS) including in inpatient installations. An early warning score is one of the assessment parameters in hospital accreditation and quality of care.  The aim of this literature review is to explain effects of early warning score (EWS) on outcomes of inpatient services. This study uses a literature study approach with a descriptive review type. The articles used are international with a range of years from 2011-2021. The databases used are Proquest, PubMed, and the Google Scholar search engine. Implementation of EWS has resulted in higher utilization of the rapid response system but a lower incidence of cardiopulmonary arrest; it is associated with lower mortality rates, and improved patient safety and clinical outcomes. The results obtained that there is a correlation between the EWS value with mortality but not with the length of stay. Research results related to the correlation of EWS with referrals to ICU/HCU and activation of code blue cannot be analyzed so that in the future a larger number of samples and case variations are needed. A clinical flow can be created in advance so that good patient management can be carried out if the EWS score is higher. An early Warning Score (EWS) can be used to predict the patient outcome which is an indicator of inpatient services.
