Abstract

The study of development was based on a dichotomy of science based on the perception of the students of science (including mathematics) and the science of religion. The purpose of this study was to develop a mathematics learning modulebased on Unity of sciences. The research subjects were students of class VII-A MTsHasyim Asy'ari Bangsri, amounting to 37 students. The results of this study are thecompilation of modules based on Unity of sciences that were developed followingthe ADDIE model which consists of 5 main stages, namely (A) analysis, (D) essay,(D) e-development, (I) implementation, and (E) evaluation. This module was testedfor validity by three mathematics education lecturers at UIN Walisongo Semarangand one MTs teacher Hasyim Asy'ari Bangsri, and obtained an average percentage of85% in the quite valid category and needed a little revision. The practicality resultsof the module are obtained from the assessment of the responses of students andteachers who get an average value of 3.3 and 3.2 of the maximum score of 4 withgood categories, so that the module is practical to use. Assessment of cognitiveaspects of students to express the effectiveness of the module, obtained from the pretest and posttest values analyzed by n-gain, and the n-gain value of 0.63 from themaximum score of 1 in the medium category. Based on the results of this research, itcan be stated that the mathematics learning module on the subject of class VII MTsbased on Unity of sciences has good quality.Keywords: modules, module development, sets, unity of sciences

Abstract

This thesis entitled an effort to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts insolving problem solving through Polya. The purpose of this research is to know theimprovement of students' concept comprehension in solving the story problem through Polyaapproach. This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is implemented inClass VII A MTs PUI Cilimus Lesson Year 2017/2018. Adapaun source data used is theobservation of students to know the development of student activities during learning andtests to determine the improvement of students' concepts in understanding the problem. Theresulting data will be analyzed by descriptive method. The theoretical basis used is thetheory of concept comprehension, problem solving and Polya approach. Based on dataanalysis done, it can be concluded that by using Polya approach in solving problem solvingproblem there is increasing understanding of student concept. This is evident from the resultsof the test in the second cycle of 48% of the initial test is only 30% and in the final testreached 78%. While the concept of students understanding also increased by 22.5% fromcycle 1 of 75% and cycle 2 of 97.5%. Therefore, the method of Polya approach is suggestedto be used to improve the concept of students in solving the problem solving problem.Keywords: Conceptual understanding, problem solving, Polya approach

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students 'mathematical literacy and dispositionin learning mathematics, and the need for the use of learning models that can improvestudents' mathematical abilities. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The researchdesign used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design and Purposive Sampling samplingtechnique. The population is grade VIII SMPN 2 Sedong, Cirebon Regency, Academic Year2018/2019. The research sample involved eighth grade students, namely 32 students of classVIII B as an experimental class and 32 students of class VIII A as a control class. Based on theresults of the study, show that: (1) the literacy ability of students who learn using PBL modelsis better than students who use conventional learning; (2) Improvement of students'mathematical literacy skills whose learning uses PBL models is better than students who learnconventionally; (3) The ability of mathematical disposition of students whose learning usesPBL models is better than students who learn conventionally; and (4) Improving students'mathematical disposition abilities using the PBL model is better than students who learnconventionally.Keywords: PBL, Literacy Ability, Mathematical Disposition

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve students 'mathematical creative thinking abilities and self-awareness by using a new mathematical learning model, the use of the Problem Based Learning model was considered suitable to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities and self-awareness because at the stage of solving problems students were required to issue ideas new and students are freed to find their own material resources. This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted in odd semester of 2017/2018 academic year, on July 31 - August 31, 2017 at Weru Islamic Junior High School which is located in Weru Lor Village, Weru District, Cirebon Regency, with the subject of research being VIII grade students of odd semester 2017/2018 lessons. There are two classes used in this study, namely class VIII A as an experimental class and VIII B as a control class, in practice the experimental class uses the Problem Based Learning learning model and the control class uses the conventional model. This research resulted in a difference test of N-Gain mathematical creative thinking abilities obtained sig. (2-tailed) value of less than 0.05 then H0 was rejected. So that it can be concluded that there is an increase in difference between the experimental class and the control class, from the tcount of 6.134 it can be said that the increase in mathematical creative thinking abilities that use the Problem Based Learning model is better than those using conventional learning models and the results of the test differences in the value of N-gain awareness self obtained sig. value (2-tailed) less than 0.05 then H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in difference between the experimental class and the control class, from the tcount of 7.330 it can be said that the increase in self-awareness of students who use Problem Based Learning models is better than those using conventional learning models. Abstract

The research is based on the law of mathematics conceps understanding and the less of the students’s activation in learning process. The research is Quasi Experimental research. The research design is used Nonequivalent Control Group Design and sample collection technique is SamplingPurposive. The sample of the research is the 7th qraders39 student class 7th E is classes eksperimental and 39 student class 7th D is classes control. The population in the research is the students of class SMPN 2 Kapetakan Kabupaten Cirebon, academic year 2016/2017 The instrument used in the research is mathematics concept understanding skill test and student’s observation sheet. Test of the difference of the average of post-test using the test of Independent Sample T-Test equals sig (1-tailed) score 0,001< 0,05 means H0 ejjected. And then the difference of the average using of N-gain using the test of Independent Sample t-test equals sig score (1-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 means H0 ejjected. And then the test of the difference of the average of self confident using the test of mann whitney U test sig (1-tailed) score 0,0005< 0,05 means H0 ejjected. The research result shows that: (1). The improvement of mathematics conceps understanding skill which is using realistic mathematic educationis better than the students who are learning by conventional learning process. (2). self confident in those students who are learning by mathematic realistic mathematic educationis better than the students who are learning by conventional learning process. Abstract

The low level of mathematical problem solving abilities of students is motivated by a less active learning model and still teacher-centered which result in students being less active in learning so that mathematical problem solving skills are still lacking. On of the learning models that can influence problem solving skills is the PAIKEM model through the index card match approach. So, the problem in this study is how much influence the PAIKEM model has through the index card match approach. This study aims to: 1) Knowing the application of the PAIKEM model through the index card match approach in mathematics learning has a better effect than conventional learning, in terms of students mathematical problem solving, 2) Knowing students responses to mathematics learning with the PAIKEM model trough an index card match approach. This type of research uses experimental quantitative research with the design of the pretest-posttest control group. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Palimanan Cirebon academic year 2018/2019. The sample in this study was class VIII F as the experimental class and class VIII E as control class. The instrument used was a problem solving ability test and questionnaire. The result showed: 1) The PAIKEM model through the index card match give a better effect than conventional learning. This is evidenced by the result of the independent test, that is the significance value 0,000 < 0,05. That is, there are differences in the average test scores of mathematical problem solving abilities, that is 80,06 for the experimental class and 71,35 for the control class. 2) Students responses to mathematics learning with the PAIKEM model through the index card match approach has an average of 80,7% in the good categories. Abstract

The research is based on the law of comunacition mathematical and mathematical disposition and the less of the students’s activation in learning process. The research objective is to know the improvement of ccomunication mathematical which the learning process used is Reciprocal Teaching learning model with conventional learning. The research is Quasi Experimental research.The research design is used Nonequivalent Control Group Design and sample collection technique is Sampling Purposive .The population in the research is the students of class XIth MAN I Kota Cirebon, academic year 2017/2018. The sample of the research is the XIth qraders 39 th student class XIth A is classes eksperimental and 39 th student class XIth B is classes control. Based on the result the difference of the average using of N-gain using the test of Independent Sample t-test equals sig score (1 tiled) 0,0005 < 0,05 means H0 rejected. On the other hard, based on the result of questionnaire using the test of Mann Whitney U-Test eguals Asymp. Sig(2 tailed) 0,000 < 0,5 means H0 rejected. The research result shows that: The improvement of communication mathematical which is using Reciprocal Teaching learning model is better than the students who are learning by conventional learning process. Abstract

Abstract This research is an experimental research. The population in this study were all seventh grade studens of SMPN 2 Pabedilan, Cirebon Regency, academic year 2018/2019 even semester. The sampling technique in this study was simple random sampling. The sample used is class VII-C. The instruments used were test instruments in the form of descriptions test and non-test instruments in the form of questionnaires and observations. Based on the results of the study, the students’ response to the use of mathematical card media in learning from the three indicators of 18.18% had a very good response category and 81.82 had a good response category. Hypothesis test result from the use of mathematical card media on students’ ability to comprehend mathematical concepts and self efficacy with linear regression test produce significance values (2-tailed) <a (0.05) so that H0 is rejected and has a positive correlation with the ability to understand mathemtical concept and self efficacy of student. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Pabedilan, Kabupaten Cirebon, tahun akademik 2018/2019 semester genap. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah simple random sampling. Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VII-C. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes berupa tes uraian dan instrumen non tes berupa angket dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, respon siswa terhadap penggunaan media kartu matematika dalam belajar dari tiga indikator 18,18% memiliki kategori respon yang sangat baik dan 81,82 memiliki kategori respon yang baik. Hasil uji hipotesis dari penggunaan media kartu matematika terhadap kemampuan siswa memahami konsep matematika dan self efficacy dengan uji regresi linier menghasilkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) <a (0,05) sehingga H0 ditolak dan memiliki korelasi positif dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dan kemandirian diri siswa. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to present an analysis of whether Ways of Thinking (WoT) and Ways of Understanding (WoU) are facilitated in mathematics textbooks for Class VII Middle School Numbers. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study in which researchers describe the facts and actual conditions about Ways of Thinking (WoT) and Ways of Understanding (WoU) in the textbook. The results of this study showed that the books analyzed had facilitated Ways of Thinking (WoT) and Ways of Understanding (WoU). Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is a classroom action research with the objective to identify student development in concept comprehension of the subject of transformation as the application implications of reciprocal teaching model. Reciprocal teaching is a learning model that requires students to focus on four parts of activities in understanding the core material of the subject which are (1) question generating, (2) clarifying, (3) predicting, and (4) summarizing. These four activities of subject comprehension are conducted through LKS (Lembar Kerja Siswa). The subject of the research includes 32 students of XI Sciene 4 Class of SMA Negeri 2 Kota Cirebon year of 2019/2020. The implementation of this class action research is performed in three sequences of cycle with each sequence duration of 60 learning hours (6x45 minutes) of transformation subject. The instruments of this research is concept comprehension test (TPK). In the end of the cycle I, the average grade of TPK is 76,9 which is below the minimum criteria (KKM) of the third semester in SMAN 2 Kota Cirebon which is 78, and there are 15 students out of 32 students whose TPK grade is below the minimum criteria. In cycle II, action improvement is proceeded as an upgrade based on cycle I which is a change in the number of student in one group from 2 students to 4 students. This improvement results in an increase of average grade of TPK becoming 79,6, and a decrease of number of student with TPK grades under the minimum criteria becoming 12 students out of 32 students. Action improvement is also performed in cycle III as an upgrade based on cycle II by making more prediction phase on reciprocal LKS. This action improvement results in an increase of average grade of TPK becoming 83,3 and a decrease of number of student with TPK grades under the minimum criteria becoming 4 students out of 32 students. This result points out that the action proceeded in cycle III succeeds in minimizing the number of student with TPK grades under the minimum criteria into 12,5% which is under 15%; indicator of maximum number of student with TPK grade under the minimum criteria. This research concludes that the implementation of reciprocal teaching model has succeeded in improving student concept comprehension of the subject material of transformation. Keywords : comprehension, transformation, reciprocal teaching ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam pokok bahasan transformasi sebagai akibat penerapan model reciprocal teaching. Reciprocal teaching adalah model pembelajaran yang menfokuskan siswa pada empat kegiatan memahami materi inti pokok bahasan. yaitu (1) question generating (membuat pertanyaan), (2) clarifying (menjelaskan), (3) predicting (memprediksi),dan (4) summarizing (merangkum). Empat kegiatan memahamai materi ini dipandu melalui lembar kerja siswa (LKS). Subjek penelitian ini adalah 32 orang siswa kelas XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 2 tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan sebanyak tiga siklus, yang masing-masing siklus dilakukan selama 6 jam pelajaran (6x45 menit), pada pokok bahasan transformasi. Instrumen peneliian ini adalah tes pemahamn konsep (TPK). Pada akhlir siklus I, rata-rata TPK adalah 76,9, masih berada di bawah nilai KKM SMA Negeri 2 Cirebon semester 3 yaitu 78, dan terdapat 15 siswa dari 32 siswa yang masih memiliki nilai TPK di bawah KKM. Pada siklus II dilakukan perbaikan tindakan sebagai hasil refleksi siklus I, berupa penguabahan jumlah siswa dalam satu kelompok dari 2 orang menjadi 4 orang. Hasilnya, pada TPK 2 terjadi peningkatan rata-rata menjadi 79,6, dan penurunan banyaknya siswa yang di bawah KKM menjadi 12 orang dari 32. Begitu pula pada siklsu III, dilakukan perbaikan tindakan sebagai hasil refeleksi siklus II, yaitu dengan cara menyempurnakan lembar kerja siswa reciprocal teaching pada fase perediksi di lipat gandakan menjadi dua kali dari jumlah prediksi pada LKS siklus I dan II, hasilnya adalah pada TPK 3 telah terjadi peningkatan rata-rata menjadi 83,3 dan telah terjadi penurunan banyaknya siswa yang memperoleh nilai di bawah KKM sebanyak 4 dari 32 orang. Berdasarkan hasil ini, maka tindakan pada siklus III telah berhasil menurunkan banyaknya siswa yang di bawah KKM adalah menjadi 12,5%, berada di bawah 15% yang menjadi indicator jumlah maksimal siswa yang memperoleh nilai di bawah KKM. Dengan demikian, penggunaan model reciprocal teaching telah berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada transformasi. Kata-kata kunci: pemahaman, transformasi, reciprocal teaching
