Abstract

Antenna miniaturization has become one important research, especially in mobile communication technology development. This paper presents the development of a miniaturized antenna for RFID application (924 MHz). Meandering technique has been adopted to create a geometrically small antenna relative to its operating frequency. Measurement result shows that the fabricated antenna inherits low return loss, down to -25.915 dB. The geometry of the antenna is 25.54 mm x 16 mm, which is much smaller than its resonance wavelength (0.079? x 0.049?). The measured gain is relatively small, of about -12 dBi. Nevertheless, the obtained parameters are acceptable since the antenna is meant for near field communication application.

Abstract

Sugeno Fuzzy algorithm is one of the algorithms contained on Fuzzy Inference System, that used to describe the condition between the two pieces of the decisions represented in the form of rules IF - THEN, where the output is constant or linear equations. While the Naive Bayes algorithm is an algorithm that uses data classification to a particular class based on the probability of each data class. Both of these algorithms can be implemented on a Decision Support System (DSS) for diet selection, using Fuzzy Sugeno as an additional determinant of energy and Naive Bayes method as decision maker. This is because the need for food intake and diet has become a problem for humans. To prevent excess intake of food it needs dietary adjustments or so-called diet. But in daily life, people sometimes hard to determine the type of diet that is suitable for them. So we need a system that can determine the type of diet that is suitable for a person. The data that used as a reference for decision support are age, daily caloric requirement, Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, cholesterol, uric acid and blood sugar levels. Results of system testing showed from a sample of 30 data there are 26 appropriate data and 4 inappropriate data to determine the type of diet by the system with the success rate of 86.7%.

Abstract

Wayang is an Indonesian heritage that becomes the world's heritage based on the recognition of UNESCO on 7 November 2003. However, the establishment of the wayang as a world cultural heritage does not make it is recognized by the young generation in Indonesia. They considered that wayang is only as a conventional culture, the duration is too long, and it tends to be boring. Creative and interactive media are needed to attract the younger generation to wayang, one of them is using the game. A Game is an interactive media that is much liked by all ages because they are entertaining, challenging, and fun. In the development of a game, it needs to emphasize a good user experience. The measurement of user experience in the game called the gameplay experience. This paper discussed the measurement gameplay experience (GX) using Immerse Experience Questionnaire (IEQ) on Wayang Game. The results of GX measurements become a benchmark for the quality of the game ‘pewayangan’ in attracting the young generation.

Abstract

Historically, the study of Qur'an in Indonesia evolved along with the spread of Islam. Learning methods of reading the Qur'an have been found ranging from al-Baghdadi, al-Barqi, Qiraati, Iqro', Human, Tartila, and others, which can make it easier to learn to read the Qur'an. Currently, the development of speech recognition technology can be used for the detection of Iqro vol 3 reading pronunciations. Speech recognition consists of two general stages of feature extraction and speech matching. The feature extraction step is used to derive speech-feature and speech-matching stages to compare compatibility between test sound and train voice. The speech recognition method used to recognize Iqro readings is extracting speech signal features using Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) and classifying them using Vector Quantization (VQ) to get the appropriate speech results. The result of testing for speech recognition system of Iqro reading has been tested for 30 peoples as a sample of data and there are 6 utterances indicating the information failed, so the system has a success rate of 80%.

Abstract

LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) technology that allows high speed and a wide range of access. LTE is designed to meet the needs for Quality of Service (QoS), i.e. the ability to download up to 300 Mbps and upload up to 75 Mbps. This study investigated the impacts of user mobility on the LTE network for video streaming services. The approach employed in this study included multi-user with Distributed AntennaSystem (DAS) and various variations of user mobility speed. Observations were made on the condition of the user moving from one cell to another so that the handover occurred. The throughput value will increase by 33% and 47% when the user’s distances are respectively 1250 m and 2000 m from eNode B. In addition, the delay value will reduce by 66.32% an 67.58% when the user’s distances are respectively 1250 m and 2000 m from eNode B. Moreover, the PDR value will increase by 48.74% and 55.45% when the user’s distances are respectively 1250 m and 2000 m from eNode B. The use of a distributed antenna system (DAS) model on LTE network has resulted in improved quality of performance when the user streams a video.

Abstract

Communication today requires a secure, reliable and efficient network, especially on enterprise networks. This research focuses on combining advantages from Frame Relay, MPLS and OSPF into a modeled multi-site network. The combination is compared to the original OSPF network and analyzed for its throughput, packet loss, and delay. To meet the demand for efficient and resilient network, and to emphasize the advantages of MPLS-OSP as well as to avoid traffic shifting, specific network topology models are applied: full mesh with virtual circuit in core network connected to OSPF nodes for the rest. From analysis and comparison of network quality values obtained at, this combination attests to be reliable and robust network architecture without trading off its efficiency. The average throughput value of the combination networks was 18.47 bps, which is better compared to the OSPF. The average delay and packet loss from combination network also show better results, which are 59.90ms and 2.01% respectively. The results shows that the combination of Frame Relay, OSPF andMPLS generates better performance as well as significant improvement in network security.

Abstract

The low level of student readiness in implementing e-learning can achieve not optimal benefits or even generate losses. In fact, its failures are able to impact on swelling of the institutional funds. Therefore, it is so important to measure the level of student readiness for avoiding the impact of e-learning implementation failures. In this study, we employed an ensemble model for measuring e-learning readiness level by using the model of Akaslan & Law and Aydin & Tasci. The data were obtained from questionnaires based on the factor of technology, people, content, institutions, acceptance for e-learning, and training for e-learning. With a questionnaire consisting of questions and five Likert scales, the survey was conducted in several departments who have implemented e-learning. We assessed the results by Akaslan & Law to measure the level of student readiness and Aydin & Law for determining its readiness By assessing the level of difficulty of e-learning implementation, we show a different way of assessment that the model of Akaslan & Law can also be used for the same variables related to Aydin & Tasci model in the measurement. We work in hand together between the model of Akaslan & Law and Aydin & Tasci for the sake of knowing the level of e-learning implementation readiness in such a different way. We observed e-learning of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) or so-called ShareITS and found that ITS students are ready to implement e-learning.
