Surabaya has been fulfilled by adequate urban infrastructure. Therefore, not need to worry to reach all corners of Surabaya. Public transportation consists of share taxis, city buses, bus rapid transit, and commuter trains. There are many transportation modes in Surabaya, but there is no integrated information system of it. This study is to help passengers feel ease to access and choose any public transportation in Surabaya. The system provides recommendation best route, cheap ticket price, monitoring vehicle position, visualization on the map and arrival time while using public transportation in Surabaya. The practice has proved that the system has good usability and strong real-time. A positioning device is installed on every public transportation, where it will send the vehicle’s position to the server. The integrated information system is based on Android with minimum Jelly Bean version. This research has two android mobile applications, they are naik.in for passenger which runs in user side and naik.in for driver which runs in vehicle side. The database used is cloud firestore.

Google Forms is one of the educational applications that teachers in teaching activities can use to assess students. Teachers usually create questions and quizzes and process students' scores through Google Forms. This study was a qualitative study that explains the perception of elementary school teachers in using Google Forms as a medium to assess their students. The data were collected through a perception questionnaire which provided five statements and three questions about the use of Google Forms in assessment. There were 45 primary teachers as the respondents, which consisted of 37 female teachers and 8 male teachers. The data were analyzed qualitatively by presenting and explaining the data. The survey showed that most of them often use Google Forms media to assess students. The respondents agreed that Google Forms is easy to use, effective, efficient and paperless media to evaluate the students. Moreover, sometimes they also use Google Forms to conduct other activities, such as completing the administrative data of students, conducting students' attendance, and obtaining the parents' opinions. They will also continue to use Google Forms as a medium to assess their students and assist in organizing teaching and learning activities if the online learning system returns to normal (face to face). Based on the data results, Google Form can be stated as one of the applications that help teachers implement online learning to carry out online assessments for primary school students.

Abstract

The advantages of technology cannot be overstated, and new technology advances at a breakneck pace. Every day, a new innovation is made. In this way, education may use the fast advancement of technology instruments for the purpose of facilitating effective teaching and learning, including language assessment. The assessment could be done in real-time although the learning process is online. This study examines EFL students' opinions regarding utilizing Socrative in the classroom as a real-time response system, as well as their accomplishment after being treated with Socrative. Socrative is a sophisticated student response system (SRS) that enables teachers to discover and analyze in real-time what students have learned during lectures. The study was done on the fifth-semester students of the English department in the Teaching English as Foreign Language course. The survey was conducted following the semester-long practice of the Socrative. The students’ perception was derived from the survey technique to ascertain students' perceptions regarding Socrative. The findings of this study show that Socrative is an appropriate tool for increasing users' participation in the classroom and assessment. Additionally, the students' success indicates an improvement after multiple uses of Socrative. The usage of Socrative is then highly recommended for classroom use in assessing students' language knowledge.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is important in learning but it is very difficult to define and to achieve. The purpose of this study was to try both approaches (inductive and deductive) to teach reading in order to determine which one is more effective for Civil Engineering students of ITN Malang. This study is conducted in Civil Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology, Malang. Two classes participated in this study. There are 15 students in each class. All of them are freshmen. One class learned reading deductively, and the other learned inductively. To assess the students’ improvement, a series of two test papers were used. From the tests given, it can be found that teaching reading inductively and deductively has equal effectiveness. However, the students taught using the deductive approach performed better in certain questions. Keywords: Reading , Inductive and Deductive Approach
