Abdihaz: Jurnal Ilmiah Pengabdian pada Masyarakat, so-called as Jurnal Abdihaz, is a peer-reviewed journal to publish/disseminate scientific works and innovations in the form of scientific articles. This journal concerned with the practice and processes of community engagement. This journal accepts and publishes scientific articles focused on community service. Jurnal Abdihaz invites lecturers, students and community service activists to send manuscripts that discuss relevant topics with the focus above. Manuscripts are written using an academic approach or scientific method by presenting data on the impact of community service activities that have been carried out.

Abstract

Training on Creating AutoPlay Based Learning Media for Teacher Working Groups in Geger District, Bangkalan Regency Media becomes a tool that is needed by educators to create a pleasant atmosphere of a learning process. In the learning process, teachers should use interactive media as a medium for delivering information. Media in the learning process is intended to facilitate the teacher in conveying messages, information, or subject matter to students. This service program was aimed to provide mentoring to teachers in creating interactive learning media based on AutoPlay. This service program is carried out by two methods. The first was the public education method, namely training and mentoring for teachers in creating learning media with various applications, especially AutoPlay. This training method was an effort to educate and train partners to be able to use computers to produce exciting learning media. The second was the substitution of a science-and-technology method, which provided an overview of how to use technology in making learning media. The result of the implementation of this service was an increase in the knowledge and skills of teachers, reaching 90% of the 20 teachers who participated in the service program. On average, 80% of teachers were able to implement AutoPlay media in the learning process. The use of AutoPlay media in learning made students more motivated in learning.

Abstract

The Development of Lok Baintan Village by Utilizing Ilung Waste into Paper Lok Baintan Village is a tourism icon of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, through the floating market, but it is classified as a disadvantaged village. The use of Kelotok (traditional boat) is the favorite choice of both local and foreign tourists. However, the trip is disturbed considering the amount of water hyacinth, local people call it as “ilung”, waste around the Martapura River. Ilung is a weed plant that grows very fast. The aim of this community service was to overcome the problem by training the community in Lok Baintan to produce a selling product, such as paper, from water hyacinth. The method used in this program was participatory communication. All parties were invited to participate in the communication process to decision making through dialogue, mentoring, and empowerment that were designed together and were sustainable. As a result, the Lok Baintan people had an improved-knowledge and a new skill. The products of this community service were paper, envelope and paper bag.

Abstract

The Enhancement of Village Owned Business Agencies Capacity for Community Welfare Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) aims to make village development innovations, especially improving the village economy and rural communities' welfare. BUMDes is a village business institution managed by the community and village government to strengthen the economy and is formed based on its needs and potential. Community service in Janji Village, Bilah Barat District, Labuhanbatu Regency was started by identifying the need for socialization: providing knowledge and understanding of the role of BUMDes and conducting focus group discussions based on interest groups in the village. The purpose of this program was to bring changes in the social-economic of the community. Based on the observations, partners' problems are: 1) The establishment of BUMDes in Janji Village has not fully formed all types of businesses in the area but has only formed one type of business, 2) There are objections from community members who already own home industry. As one of the economic institutions operating in rural areas, BUMDes must have differences from the general economic institutions so that the existence and performance of BUMDes can make a significant contribution in improving community welfare through socialization, education, and training to improve people's living standards in Janji Village.

Abstract

In this globalization era, the role of the concept in schools is very important. Therefore, this individual counseling training activity was carried out. This individual counseling service training activity was aimed to increase the understanding of counselors at Muhammadiyah Integrated Junior High School Bengkulu in conducting individual counseling. The methods used in this training were lectures, questions and answers, discussions, and practices. Participants involved in this training were counselors at Muhammadiyah Integrated Junior High School Bengkulu. The results of the training for individual counseling services went well, they were shown from the results of the questionnaire before being given training for individual counseling services in the category of not understanding with a percentage of 28.70%. After the training in individual counseling services was given to the students, there was enhancement in understanding of counselors in conducting individual counseling. They were in understanding category, and they were able to do good counseling practices with an achievement percentage of 89.81%.

Abstract

Workshop of Test of English Proficiency on Lecturers of Universitas Prof. Dr. Hazairin, SH Bengkulu This community service was aimed to improve the ability of the test of English proficiency (TOEP) the lecturers of Prof. Dr. Hazairin, SH University by practicing listening and reading skills. In addition, this activity was provided participants with insight into easy ways or tips and tricks when dealing with listening and reading questions in the TOEP with the aimed of increasing the participant's TOEP score. The method used was a lecture, discussion/question and answer, and practice. Participants who were the target of this training were lecturers who had not yet passed the lecturer certification. Pre-test at the beginning of the activity and post-test at the end of the activity carried out as an instrument for evaluating community service activities. The results of these community service activities indicated that there were differences in the ability scores of the trainees before and after the training. The pre-test results showed that the maximum score for TOEP was 405, the average score was 266.5 and the minimum score was 205. While the post-test results showed that the maximum score for participants' TOEP was 465, the average score was 393.5 and the minimum score was 360. Increasing the participant's TOEP score showed that the training activity was successful.

Abstract

Workshop on Creating Lesson Plans and Making Learning Media for Teachers at 34 Elementary Schools in Pontianak City Teachers still have difficulty in making learning tools with the conditions of students in the class, and teachers have limitations in making learning media. The purpose of this program was to increase teacher knowledge about creating lesson plans and learning media. The method was training and mentoring held for two months from planning to evaluation. Fourteen elementary school teachers attended the training as participants. Pre-test and post-test were done to evaluate teacher knowledge about lesson plans. This community service was useful, and it can be concluded that this activity increased teacher knowledge about making learning tools. The teacher's knowledge score during the pre-test, ie, before training, was 57,87 points. The score at the post-test increased to 73,61. The teacher was skilled at making learning media materials so that they were available to students at affordable prices and attractive designs.

Abstract

Community Partnership Stimulus Program of Clothing Tailor Group in Sungai Bali Village, Sebuku Island District, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan Province The problems faced by partners are: 1) Equipment and production equipment are still limited so that it takes a long time to fulfill large orders; 2) The equipment and production equipment are still very simple, which hinders the production process; 3) Inadequate place for display and stock storage; 4) The partner has never made a business financial report so that the partner cannot measure the development of his business so far; 5) Marketing is still very limited and passive where buying and selling is only waiting for the buyer to come to the house; 6) Promotional activities have never been carried out so that the product is only known to the community in the village; 7) The absence of a business name board so that prospective buyers from other villages is difficult to find partner business places. This community service program aimed to help partners overcome problems in the aspects of production and business management. The method or approach applied was discussion, training, mentoring, and adding the business equipment and equipment to motivate partners to achieve business success. The results and outcomes achieved were 1) Partners received additional production equipment such as portable electric sewing machines, new manual sewing machines, and storefront cabinets for product stock storage and name boards/signs; 2) Partners got training and assistance in making notes or financial reports, marketing management, and business correspondence; and 3) Partners could improve skills, product quality, product quantity, product types, production capacity, assets, and business income.

Abstract

Assistance of Prospective Preacher Cadres at Universitas Prof. Dr. Hazairin SH Bengkulu Universitas Prof. Dr. Hazairin, SH Bengkulu (Unihaz) has a vision to become a lively, religious and excellent university in the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. Jum'at religi (Juri) is a student development program to create a religious atmosphere in campus life. This activity is integrated with Islamic religion courses by adding 1 credit for practicum. Efforts to reduce dependence with third parties in the implementation of the Juri, the ability of students, who are members of the Islamic Spirituality Unihaz Student Activity Unit, needs to be improved to become Juri guides from an early age. The aim of this program was to produce campus da'wah cadres who are ready to become the driving force for preaching on the Unihaz campus. Community service activities were carried out by means of training and guidance to read Al-Qur'an (tahsin) and worship training. Guidance was carried out periodically with the frequency of one meeting a week. The results that have been achieved from this program were that there was an increase in Islamic understanding and the ability to read the Al-Qur'an and the implementation of worship for participants, there is an increase in the activity of participants in participating in spiritual organization programs, there is an increase in the activity of participants to pray at mosques, and an increase in the number of participants. internal mentor in the implementation of the Juri program.

Abstract

The Empowerment of Skilled-Media Village Officials in Building Public Awareness and Concern for the Environment in Cikeruh Village, Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency The village government staff is the spearhead of the village government duty whose job is to deliver and process various information relating to government programs, both central and regional government. In this digital era, almost all information flow is carried out through social media. For this reason, a skilled and capable village government staff is needed, especially in using and utilizing social media devices. Through social media, the village government able to socialize the government's relay program and other information to residents. The village service of Cikeruh village through media social has not run optimally. Therefore, training in managing social media, especially in the socialization of environmental hygiene issues, must be held. Universitas Padjadjaran is one of the higher education institutions holding the mandate of community service through education and research activities. This community service integrated with student work college was held in Cikeruh village, Jatinangor District, Sumedang Regency. The training method was lecture and discussion methods, as well as hands-on practice. Participants gained various knowledge related to message management and the use of social media, especially Facebook and Instagram. The results of the activity were the increasing of the knowing, attitudes, and behavior of participants in using Instagram and Facebook to increase effort in improving and restructuring the environment in Cikeruh Village.

Abstract

Training on Research Activities and Scientific Writing for Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Lombok Tengah Teachers The purpose of this community service was to improve the ability of teachers to conduct research and publish a research article in a national scientific journal. This program was implemented through a series of activities using in-service training (IST) and on-service training (OST) methods. The andragogy approach was used in IST activities to improve the ability of teachers in analyzing the learning problems that can be raised as research problems; to convey the concept of research in general, especially classroom action research; and to write a scientific article. OST activities are intended to assist the teachers in conducting research activities, writing research reports and scientific articles and publishing scientific journals. The results of IST activities illustrated the situation of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Lombok Tengah teachers that most teachers had been able to analyze problems that can be raised as the main problems in research activities; the teacher had a good understanding of the concept of classroom action research, design, instruments, and analysis of research data; the teacher was able to understand the concepts and techniques of writing research reports and scientific articles; and the teacher had been able to understand the concepts and techniques of publishing articles in national scientific journals. OST results indicated that teachers had the potential to develop themselves in conducting research and producing scientific papers. During the implementation of community service activities, the teacher consistently followed the activities well. The resulting scientific work could be categorized as good, and generally, met the criteria of scientific writing.
