Abstract

Countries in the world certainly need economic development, one of which is Indonesia. The Indonesian Government needs to improve the people's standard of living and welfare. Regional Original Income can be used to find out how big the contribution of the economic sector is by comparing the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) generated from each sector. This study aims at describing the contribution of the GRDP of the agricultural and the manufacturing sector to the ROI of Trenggalek Regency. This study uses quantitative methods. The data used is secondary data in the form of time series from 2012 to 2018. The data analysis used is descriptive to determine the percentage of contribution. The results showed that the average contribution of the agricultural sector and the manufacturing industry in 2012-2018 was 2.988% and 1.403%, respectively, so it is concluded that their contribution was far lower from the ROI. Based on the results of research, the increase in ROI is a lot higher than GRDP from 2012 to 2018, and therefore the percentage of contribution is insignificant, and the two sectors have no effect on ROI in Trenggalek Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of climate change on the productivity of rice farming businesses, know the knowledge, attitudes, and adaptability to climate change, and present a review and criticism analysis for product updates related to climate change. The study respondents numbered 100 rice farmers in Lampung Province. The processed data is analyzed by using descriptive statistics, using Crosstabs analysis to calculate the frequency and percentage of two or more variables at once while to see the influence of farmer behavior is using path analysis. The results of this study showed that the impact of climate change greatly affects rice farming businesses which leads to a decrease in the productivity of farmers' rice farming businesses. The lack of knowledge of farmers about climate change and the attitude of farmers in dealing with climate change are great concern, but in the follow-up to curiosity and problem solving tends to be less, this is due to farmers less enthusiastic in determining the attitude of climate change. The level of adaptation of farmers to climate change only occurs when determining planting time, so it needs to increase the power due to climate change. Recommendations from these results, among others, related to regulations that require renewal. This update obtained two perspectives, namely the legal perspective and the perspective of the development of the climate issue itself.

Abstract

The role of women in the agricultural sector in developing countries is essential. Female farmworkers have dominated the workforce in corn cultivation; nevertheless, it is challenging to apply dissemination materials on corn planting as these workers still use their agricultural insight from generation to generation. This study aimed to determine: 1) the characteristics of female farmworkers who participate in local corn cultivation, 2) the level of women's participation in local corn cultivation activities, and 3) the factors that influence women's participation in local corn cultivation. The research lsite is in Pakaan Laok Village, which was determined by purposive technique. Sample-taking was by simple random sampling. Methods of data analysis used descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. The results showed that most female farmworkers' age ranges between 40-54 years, did not attend school, and the income ranges between Rp. 0-667,000 per planting season, land ownership status is individual ownership, and their economic motivation is to help their husbands. The variables of education, farm income, and economic motivation partially affect women's participation. In contrast, age and land ownership do not partially affect the participation rate of female farmworkers. The level of participation of women farmers at the planning stage is in a low category, and at the implementation, the stage is in a very high category

Abstract

The marketing of agricultural products has long been a challenge for the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture (KPFP), particularly in the business-to-customer (B2C) arena. To address this issue, KPFP, as one of the business units at Udayana University, has recently embarked on the development of an e-commerce system, recognizing its potential as an alternative medium for promotion, communication, and information dissemination. The objective of this study is to identify the characteristics of each KPFP field and to design an e-commerce system that caters to their respective needs. The analytical approach employed in this study was descriptive qualitative method, supported by simple tabulations and the Lean User Experience (Lean UX) approach. Our findings reveal that each KPFP field has performed its assigned tasks and responsibilities satisfactorily. The e-commerce system we have developed offers customers a choice of payment methods, including cash on delivery (COD), and ensures timely delivery, thus enabling customers to enjoy the products in a fresh condition without any loss of quality. Further research is needed to assess the system's effectiveness using the Success Rate as a usability parameter and to evaluate the efficiency of usage time, measured in seconds or minutes, required by customers to complete each task.

Abstract

The participation of farmers in agricultural development has been identified as a crucial component for the transfer of knowledge and technology. Access to information on innovative agricultural practices is essential for farmers to implement procedures that support farming. Although active participation can take various forms, physical involvement is not the sole determinant of successful participation. Peatland honey pineapple cultivation has been a long-standing practice, and its production has experienced fluctuations over the years. The decline in honey pineapple production from 2017 onwards poses a challenge for both farmers and the district government, given the crop's potential for development in Galang Village, Mempawah Regency. This research study utilized a sample of 73 individuals and collected data through interviews, observations, and available references. Both quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted to examine the level of farmers' participation in the development of honey pineapple commodities across three stages: participation, implementation, and evaluation. The study revealed that farmers' participation in the development of honey pineapple commodities at the participation stage fell into the independent category (1.43 >1.96), while at the implementation and evaluation stages, it entered the independent category, with values of 5.29 (>1.96) and 2.96 (>1.96), respectively. Age, education level, and length of farming experience were identified as factors that influenced farmers' participation in the development of honey pineapple commodities.
