Abstract

Automation system in its function to helps and makes human life easier has experienced a significant growth in recent years, for example in security field. Low security level such as no fire detection system is one of the factors which is supporting the possibilities of fire accidents to happen. This system detects the possibilities fire using fuzzy logic. This system uses microcontroller Arduino Uno as control unit, flame sensor to check infrared ray from the fire, DHT11 temperature sensor to monitor the temperature in the room, and GSM shield to send SMS. Sensors will detect fire in the room and send the collected information to be processed by Arduino Uno by implementing fuzzy logic. SMS-Based Indoor Fire Detection System Models Using Fuzzy Logic has many benefits in the development of room safety systems from fire hazards. The design of this system is simple but can be widely applied to further research development.

Abstract

In Indonesian higher-education, the lecturer usually teaches software learning to students through a face-to-face practicum at a computer laboratory. However, in some conditions, these learning methods may not be carried out and must be done by online learning methods. Therefore, appropriate learning media are needed to accommodate them. One of the most suitable alternative media is using video with screencasting. A screencast is recordings that show the activity of mouse, tablet, or stylus and the computer screen. Instructional and demonstration videos that must show computer screen activity commonly use screencast technology. This research study the design process and the validation of the use of educational screencast for learning software in higher education. The case study is a screencast video for the Digital Illustration course in the Design of Visual Communication major at Trilogi University. The design methods for developing screencast videos uses the multimedia development model assisted by four-step screen capture processes.  After that, the students enrolled in the Digital Illustration course watch the published video, and then the questionnaire was given to them to see the result of the research. The finding of this research produces some recommendations on how to design a screencast video. A lecturer who considers using screencast to design a learning software tutorial video may consider some recommendations found in this study.

Abstract

Traveling salesman problem (TSP) is an optimization problem in determining the optimal route of a number of nodes that will only be passed once with the initial node as the final destination. One method for solving TSP is the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm. ACO is inspired by ant behaviour in searching for food, where ants produce pheromones to find food sources and make a route from the colony to food that will be followed by other ants. However ACO has not been considered as the optimal method for resolving TSP. This is because ACO has several shortcomings in the computational process. Comparisons between pheromones are not yet clear, and slow computing time causes the results of ACO to be not optimal. To correct these deficiencies, modifications will be made to the ACO. Modifications are made by changing some values in the ACO, such as adjusting the number of ants by the node automatically, changing the value in the pheromone renewal, and adding value to the construction of the solution. The outcome of this research is the modification of ACO did not provide shorter computing time with a more accurate final value, thus did not provide an optimal solution. The test results in this study found that the average computation time for the last iteration of each test was 0.54 second, and for the 10 iteration computation time obtained an average of 5.54 second for four tests. The amount of memory used in four tests in this study was 440.11 mb for 10 iterations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of students who are likely to graduate or drop out (DO) in the management department of the National University, Jakarta. The study was conducted by implementing the K-Means algorithm, where each data is grouped according to the closest distance to the centroid. Determination of Cluster C1 graduate or C2 drop out is based on the attributes of status of students (active, leave, out and non-active), educational status (graduated or DO), GPA, total credits taken and length of study. To facilitate the clustering process, Orange tools are used that provide K-Means algorithm features. The total data input in this study were 1988 students from various classes. As a result, a pattern or mapping of graduated or DO students was found based on the attributes mentioned earlier. Testing the results of this cluster with the silhouette method, by measuring the distance between cluster members, both C1 and C2, showed good Silhouetter value, reaching 85%. The management department, National University can use the results of this study to predict the graduation of their students.

Abstract

Selection of majors by prospective students when registering at a school, especially a Vocational High School, is very vulnerable because prospective students usually choose a major not because of their individual wishes. And because of the increasing emergence of new schools in cities and districts in each province in Indonesia, especially in the province of Banten. Problems experienced by prospective students when choosing the wrong department or not because of their desire, so that it has an unsatisfactory value or value in each semester fluctuates, especially in their Productive Lessons or Competencies. To provide a solution, a departmental suitability system is needed that can provide recommendations for specialization or major suitability based on students' abilities through attributes that can later assist students in the suitability of majors. The process of classifying the suitability of majors in data mining uses the k-Nearest Neighbor and Naive Bayes Classifier methods by entering 16 (sixteen) criteria or attributes which can later provide an assessment of students through this test when determining the majors for themselves, and there is no interference from people. another when choosing a major later. Research that has been carried out successfully using the k-Nearest Neighbors method has a higher recall of 99%, 81% accuracy and 82% precision compared to the Naïve Bayes Classifier whose recall only yields 98% while the accuracy and precision is the same as the k- Nearest Neighbors.

Abstract

This study reported the staging of process on developing a mobile application for real-time data management information system on monitoring and feedback in early childhood education, it can help tracking child care and education and assist teacher in monitoring and feedback on child services. A study was carried out to gather necessary information through data mapping, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, document reviews, application development, direct entry in the field using mobile development, application testing and analysis that was conducted on for 253 respondents. To obtain a full picture on early childhood education, data on child growth and education shall be mapped and linked in one application. We introduce a mobile app to systematically compile the individual as well as group data across different aspects of child life, ranging from child education. Using a tablet PC or mobile phone, data could be easily entered at any time by the person. Due to still poor infrastructure at the grass root level, the system also allows a safety store offline that could automatically link to server when network connection is available. The immediate data entry will provide real-time data report that could be accessed by any relevant stakeholders at any levels to response accordingly. However, to avoid misuse of data, the access will also be restricted with a secured login system. Based on the study, this application is easily applicable for real-time monitoring and evaluation on early child education.

Abstract

Routing protocol is used to keep the stabilization of connection. Its connected with the performance was caused good communication when the communication from the source node to the destination node. The main factor of success in routing protocol techniques was quality of service to provide the difference level of service in arraging and giving the traffic service prority in the the network like constant bit rate (CBR) and file transfer protocol (FTP) using wireless network sensor network (WSN).This research will analyse the achivement quality of service in IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee network used routing protocol techniques ad hoc on demand distance vector (AODV) single path and multipath based on distance and number of nodes simulated used Cygwin software. Based on the results of tests performed using the technique of routing protocol Ad Hoc On Demand Distance Vector single path and multipath for service traffic with constant bit rate and file transfer protocol, the result packet delivery ratio and goodput better on the distance between nodes 10m than the distance between node 15m to 25m, thus indicating that the goodput affect the traffic services are used. And the average delay results using the technique of multipath routing protocol AODV lower, thus indicating that the alternative pathway suppress buffer traffic delay on the service used.

Abstract

The condition of shade trees is very important for the safety of road users. It often happens in shade trees because of the factors of temperature, climate, air damage, and lack of oxygen in the tree. The purpose of this study is to study the health conditions in shady trees against human safety. So to overcome the problem in this study, a selective felling program in shady trees will bemade using the fuzzy logic method to solve the problem of existing factors by creating variables that will be used in processing on fuzzy logic. The results of this study are to identify which health conditions of trees that are feasible to be cut according to the results of fuzzy logic.

Abstract

Short Message Service (SMS) is a communication technology that is very popular. By using SMS someone can exchange messages with others. However, with the wiretapping issue sms, a person no longer has the right to privacy. So the program was made on a mobile phone-based application that will change the android SMS messages into codes so that information from SMS in not known by others. When sending SMS, this application will encrypt the message into shape with a key codes entered by the sender. And when the acceptance of SMS, this application will describe the codes message into form of the original message using the same key with the sender. This application was made in the android based application to send an important message to others without fear of being noticed by others. The method used in the application to encrypt and decrypt the messages are methods Block Cipher Algorithm or also called blowfish method and its implementation using the java programming language with the android mobile platform

Abstract

The purpose of the research is as a medium for learning traditional dances and regional traditional houses and can be used as a debriefing for the community to better know the traditional dances and regional traditional houses properly. The research method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall method, a research method that has the characteristics of each phase in the waterfall must be completed before proceeding to the next phase The analytical aid used is Flowchart and Unified Modeling Language. Software used with the help of the Java programming language, Android Studio Editor, Android Standard Development Kit, and Android Development Tools. The conclusion is that this application was built so that it can provide convenience in learning regional dance education and local traditional houses.
