Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has increased these years. Datas from Muhammad Sani Hospital showed number of patients underwent hemodialysis (HD) were 34 in 2015, and has become 77 in April of 2019. One of the replacement therapy in CKD patient was hemodialysis. HD intended to take over renal function to prolong in improve patient’s quality of life.  Patients who undergo HD will experience anxiety caused by some stressors, such as pain at the location of needle insertion. One of the approach to overcome patients from the pain in HD is a non-farmacologic one, which is progressive muscle relaxation (PMR). This study intended to find the effect of PMR to the anxiety level of HD patients. It was a quantitative study, with a quasi experiment using pre and post test without control. Sampling method was purposive sampling and the size was 20 respondents. We used Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) to detrrmine the level of anxiety, and the intervention was PMR. Paired T-Test was applied, with a normality test (Shapiro Wilk) previously done. We found that the effect of PMR was significant, with a p-value 0,000 (<0,005) and the mean of the anxiety level before and after intervention were respectively 22,65 and 16,30 From all 14 parameters in the questionnaire, from the highest score found in this study were respectively: Sleep Disorder, Depression, Stress, Sensoric related Symptom and Gastrointestinal related Symptoms. Based on this study, there was significant effect of PMR in decreasing the anxiety level, and so it is recommended to use PMR in overcoming anxiety problem in HD patients

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) technique can improve the students’ reading skill at English Language Department, Muhammadiyah University of Mataram. The problem found in the fourth semester students is that they have low ability in comprehending the text. The TPS technique is offered by the researcher to solve the problem. Later on, the design of this research was classroom action research adopted from Kemmis & McTaggart which goes through a cycle that consists of four stages namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. At the cycle 1 the students failed to meet the criteria of success because only 14 (fourteen) out of 30 (thirty) or 47% students who got the minimum passing grade 75 (seventy five) and the average score was 67. It meant that the study must be continued to the next cycle. At last, in the cycle 2 met the criteria of success in which 67% students or 20 (twenty) out of 30 (thirty) students met the minimum passing grade 75 and the average score was 72. Besides gaining improvement in the reading score, the students also seemed enthusiastic in thinking, pairing and sharing their ideas. They stated that this technique is able to encourage and motivate them in thinking, exploring and sharing their opinion and ideas. This technique is also good to enhance the cooperation with other people. Finally, TPS technique is also able to increase the students’ confidence to share their ideas in front of many people.

Through the integration of science learning and entrepreneurship it is hoped that entrepreneur character develops in the children’s self. The main components of entrepreneurship consist of three aspects, namely creative force, sense, and intention. Creative force creates the characters of innovative, creative, careful, organized, broadening insight, problem solver, and reflective. Sense aspect creates the characters of confident, want to gain profit, able to serve, truthful, determined, optimistic, and sharp to chances. Intention creates the character of brave, risk taking, hard work, cooperative, responsible, listening to inputs, able to negotiate, discipline, and dynamic. Abstract

The study aims to conduct interactive multimedia development courses learning strategies to improve student motivation learning. This research uses the R&D (research and Development) research type with the ADDIE development model. The results showed that the phase of the Interacive Multimedia Development adopted an ADDIE development model which was modified into four phases, namely analysis, design, development, and implementation. Interactive learning media testing using Google Classroom media developed with media flowcharts in line with storyboards created. The validation results of media experts are not required to revise because they meet excellent categories (92%), and good category (84%).  While the results of trials in improving motivation to learn to students of University of PGRI Adi Buana Lamongan Campus average get a score of 115.46 pretes with variants of 16.56, while the test post score of 140.11 with a variant of 14.99. In addition, the results of statistical trials used using the T-Test concluded that there was an increased motivation to study learning strategy courses on students using interactive multimedia.

Abstract

This research was conducted to study the Back Propagation ANN that was implemented with the Matlab GUI. Where the data used is the duration of shine data, the network architecture is formed by determining the number of units per layer. After the network is formed, training and testing are carried out from the data that has been grouped before. Furthermore, the prediction stage uses the trainrp training method with the logsig activation function of each layer. The number of input layer neurons is 120, the first hidden layer is 10, the second hidden layer is 10, the output layer is 1. While the maximum epoch parameter is 1000, the goal is 0.001, the learning rate is 0.7 and step is 1. Based on the simulation results January was 51.25%, February was 62.00%, March was 59.29%, April was 64.52%, May was 71.42%, June was 79.32%, July was 64.25%, August was 77.87%, September was 85.02%, October was 81.33%, November of 56.67%, and December of 39.14%. The simulation results were obtained with MSE accuracy of 5.114, MAD of 1.479, MAPE of 2.162, RMSE of 2.261, and accuracy of 97.43%.

Abstract

This pre-experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of problem based learning in teaching narrative type of reading text at the tenth grade of public senior high school (SMAN) 1 Sukamulia, East Lombok. The sample of this research consisted of 30 students taken through purposive sampling. A pre-test and a post-test were used to collect the data on the reading ability of the students, and observation list was employed to gather the data on how problem based learning involves the students in the learning process. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive statistic and paired-sample t-test to answer the hypothesis. The result of data analysis revealed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test scores, t(df=29) = 5.203 at p = 0.000, meaning that the null hypothesis is rejected (Ho) and alternative hypothesis is accepted (Ha).It means that there was a significant effect of problem based learning method in teaching critical reading for the tenth graders of SMAN 1 Sukamulia.

Abstract

The legal paradigm of halal tourism which is being built by the government West Nusa Tenggara Province is based on oriental characters, civilization, and culture with the main scheme to attract the world Muslim tourists. The development of legal paradigm of character-and-civilized-based tourism is important in order to establish local identity of a particular area, which is now declining. This paper aimed to discus legal concept of halal tourism based on Islamic prophetic through social historical inference of Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo ethnic groups. This research used legal analysis method of sociological jurisprudence and prophetic legal method with integrated-interconnected approach through the procedure of social historical interference. The finding revealed there is a convergence of Islamic prophetic values and social historical values of Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo reflected in the patterns of halal food, social relation, clothes, economy, and the like. Common philosophy of Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo, that is “adat bersendi syara’, syara’ bersendi kitabullah” (tradition is based upon sharia, sharia is based upon the Book of Allah) supports the Islamic identity that has provided a foundation for the issuance of halal regulation and the accommodation of character and civilized based local identities through local friendly entities.
