Abstract

The availability of transportation infrastructure and facilities is a major requirementin supporting the development of a region, especially for regions that have large potential resources, but are not supportedby adequate infrastructure and transportations. In the regional spatial plan (RTRW) North Kolaka Regency explained that there are three alternative airport construction sites. Using the projection method andqualitative description to find out population projections, projectionsof estimated number of air transport passengers, and regional transportation systems fromand towards North Kolaka and its surroundings, using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine alternative locations for the deveolopment of new airport. Based on the results of the analysis, the most strategic location forairport development which is Kodeoha District with a weight value of 0.47. Weight values indicate that the best alternative location of the three alternativesthe location is supported by nine aspects mainly from economic, topographic, and surface conditions. This is due to being in the middle North Kolaka Regency and has land with the potential to develop an airport that is an area of ponds and rice fields that are no longer productive.

Abstract

In the world of aviation, there are many aspects that support the occurrence of a safe and smooth flight to be able to connect trips between islands and even continents. When talking about flight, of course, what comes to our mind is a plane that airs regularly in the air, but to pass it through it regularly requires a guide which ensures flight activities in a smooth and safe condition. An air traffic controller or air traffic controller (ATC) is a person who ensures and guides the aircraft while it is on the ground or it is in the airborne, the ATC is also tasked with providing information needed by the pilot, such as weather information, flight navigation, and air traffic. And guide the pilot to raise, lower, or turn the plane. ATC must be ready to guide the aircraft even in hot or rainy weather. Rainy weather conditions can greatly affect flight activities, this is caused by runways that are the main thing in an airport. The runway is used for taking off and landing an aircraft. If it rains, the runway conditions will be wet and when the runway is wet, there is a high risk of aircraft activities, especially if there is standing water on the runway. which is currently not available at El Tari airport, Kupang. The tool is used to provide information about water levels on the runway.

Abstract

Makassar aviation polytechnic is a high school under the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, with the main task of carrying out a professional Diploma program in aviation engineering and safety. One of the study programs in the aviation engineering department is Aircraft Maintenance Technology Study Program, which studies all parts of the aircraft as well as maintaining and repairing the aircraft so that it can fly safely to its destination. One obstacle that occurred in the Aircraft Maintenance Technology study program at POLTEKBANG is unavailability of fuel, the Avgas used on the Piston Enggine aircraft so the learning or peractic processes can’t realize were carried out due to the absence of fuel sold in the area. South Sulawesi therefore has to order in the East Java Province of Surabaya resulting in higher costs. The need of gasoline fuel as fossil energy is increasing and essential for daily life, occurs because of scarcity, can not be renewed and pollute to damage the ozone layer so it is important to do research to get optimal engine performance and low emissions. The reseach conducted for learning process or Peractum can accordance with the existing curriculum in the Makassar TPT POLTEKBANG with a pure fuel measurement test on the engine with a compression ratio of 11.3: 1 and varying the mixture of RON 92, RON 95 and Eco Recing, at 4,000 to 10,000 Rpm rotation. The result of the emission test according to the standard, can be explained that the best result is the use of fuel octane 92 with CO: 0.52% and HC: 125 ppm, capable of producing optimal power and torque compared to octane 95. The best mix variation is a ratio of 90: 10 producing maximum power up to 14.5 Hp and torque of 12.97 Nm

Abstract

Supporting factors for the achievement of these objectives in the piston engine workshop, which provides experience in maintenance of piston engines such as the Teledyne Continental IO-470 and Avco Lycoming O-360. A wide variety of tools currently available, both in terms of use and function, but not all components can be installed and removed using tools, without special tools. In aircraft specific maintenance, that is to repair and repair components for safe repairs, for example a 2000-hour inspection where checks such as engines, propellers, landing gear etc. One of them is when checking the engine which is done by removing the piston pin in accordance with the procedures in the maintenance manual, in the process of implementing it in the engine workshop the piston still uses a hammer and wood for release, with the force released from the hammer slip, as for some internal factors of the human itself such as stress and fatigue. From the observations of the force produced by the hammer with an average distance of the object at 0.3 m, the time required is 0.11 seconds, then the pin changes 0.009 m, the new force issued when hammering 4.95N and the force required 14.3 times to open piston pin, While to release the piston pin with six cylinders issued a total of 425.31N. Therefore, to improve safety in treatment, the authors used a piston pin release tool using a hydraulic pump, with a total design force of 425.31N issued on the actuator, using the Pascal principle so that the force for manual hand crank was 42.17N. And this tool can also use an AC motor to pump fluid with 500watt power and 2500rpm rotation

Abstract

Instrument landing systems (ILS) at airports are very important in guiding aircraft through safe landing. The service of air navigation aids at Bandar Haluoleo Kendari has not been optimal so far. This is due to damage at the beginning of the installation. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of ILS being less optimal on improving flight safety services. The research method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods that describe the general conditions of aviation safety caused by the lack of optimal ILS and calculate the operating costs per type of aircraft that experienced a landing cancellation based on manual maintenance. The results of the study show that there is a significant influence between the lack of optimal ILS on flight safety when visibility below minima. It also has an impact on the loss of aircraft operating costs incurred by the airline, avtur losses on aircraft that experience holding / delay and time loss for passengers who use the air transportation services. Alternative problem solving is to re-optimize the use of ILS such as completing modules and refining modules by factory expert technicians or third-party procurement of ILS goods / equipment
