Abstract

A descriptive study of the ability to write using acronyms is an effort to improve and develop it as a written work using relevant and accountable scientific references. In this study, what was examined was the ability of students in writing sentences using acronyms based on a contextual approach. Frequency calculations are used by calculating the Mean, Mode, and Median and then converting the score into the final value. From the results of this study, it was obtained that the highest score of students in writing sentences using acronyms was 95 classified as excellent criteria, the lowest score in writing sentences using the acronym 75 was classified as right criteria, and the average score of students in writing sentences using acronyms was 89, 06 is classified as an excellent criterion. Then we get a median of 90 and a mode of 90.

Abstract

Advances in communication and information technology need to be continuously adapted to various disciplines, including education. Nowadays, Photoshop is one of the most widely used editing software by designers to produce quality images. Factors that influence efforts to improve users' Photoshop learning abilities include teacher competence, learning facilities, learning environment, user learning motivation, and learning models used. To support Photoshop learning, it is necessary to design an attractive learning media. Computer-Based Instruction is one of the techniques commonly used to create a learning application, CBI is usually used for making interesting designs that apply human-computer interaction and how learning materials are made. And it can help users understand and further increase user enthusiasm and motivation to learn Photoshop. Macromedia Flash is a program used to design a learning application that describes the learning storyline. Photoshop CS 3 tutorial is designed using Macromedia Flash 8 which can be easily understood by users in the learning process

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability to correct affix word and particle writing errors in students' discourse which is obtained by correcting the affixed word and particle writing errors in the discourse. Writing affixed words is limited to writing di- and ke- prefixes, while particle writing is limited to writing per and pun. This study uses a descriptive method because it aims to describe the ability of students to correct errors in writing affix words and particles in discourse by junior high school students. The research sample was 24 junior high school students who were taken randomly from 246 students. To obtain data on the ability to correct writing errors with affix words and particles, it can be seen from the accuracy of writing affix words and particles obtained from the research instrument in the form of a discourse test in which the writing in-, ke-, and also in it is writing that is not following spelling. The results showed that the overall percentage of correcting the writing error of affix words reached 77.86%. For the aspect of correcting the writing error of the prefix, the percentage was 79.76%, while for the accuracy of correcting the writing error of the prefix, the percentage was 64.58%.

Abstract

Chemistry is the study of objects, their characteristics, structure, composition, and changes caused by interactions with other objects or chemical reactions. Chemistry is often referred to as the "central science" because it connects various other sciences, such as physics, nanotechnology, biology, pharmacy, medicine, bioinformatics, and geology. A reduction reaction is a chemical reaction that occurs in a redox reaction. The concept of the reduction reaction in redox reactions has undergone several stages of development. For this reason, it is necessary to prepare a learning media that can deliver subject matter that can attract the attention of students to study the material by implementing computer-assisted learning. It is hoped that it can make it easier to understand the reduction reaction material. Computer-Based Learning (CBL) is a computer for presenting learning material that aims to make students more active in learning material in the use of computer media. In its development, Computer Based Learning (CBL) has four learning system models, namely the tutorial model, practice and training models, simulation models, and instruction games models.

Prepare before teaching is very important acion, in order to make teaching easily. One of the prepare is making a lesson plan. Lesson plan is software for teacher to track the lessson plan for their classes. The goal of this research is to find out “The correlation between the students’ perception on the lecturer’s ability in making lesson plan and their achievement in TEFL at English Educational Department of Tarbiyah Faculty IAIN-SU”. The study was conducted on the nineth semester students of English Educational Department of Tarbiyah Faculty IAIN SU Medan. The population of this study was 78 and the writer took all population as a sample. The data was analyzed by the Product Moment Correlation technique. From the calculation of the data, it found that there is a significant correlation between the students’ perception on the lecturers’ ability in making lesson plan and their achievement in TEFL or the Hypothesis Alternative (Ha) is accepted and the Null Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Because rcalculate is bigger than rtable or 0.336>0.224.

Abstract

The title of this research is The Process in Basuki Tjahaja Purnama’s Statements as A Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta: Functional Grammar Approach. In this research, the analysis is based on the theory of Functional Grammar: the transitivity, proposed by Halliday (2004) in his book; An Introduction to Functional Grammar. This research uses descriptive method. The objectives of this research are to find the types of process used by Basuki in his statements and to reveal the dominant process. The data are taken from Basuki’s statements on Liputan6.com. The result of this research shows that Material Process is dominantly used with 52,94%, followed by Relational and Existential processes with 17,65% and Mental process with 11,76%. The Material process as the dominant shows Basuki as the doer in resolving all the problems found in Jakarta

Abstract

To improve the quality of education in facing the future, it is necessary to change the learning paradigm through shifting the procedures for organizing educational and learning activities. Moreover, the spread of the virus in Indonesia which was dangerous and had previously been felt by the whole world before 2020, namely the Corona Virus Diseased 2019 or known as COVID-19 made the learning process hampered. These conditions make the learning system that was originally face-to-face in class must be adapted to learning at home. This study aims to implement a two-way communication-oriented Blended Learning model in the new normal era of covid 2019. However, this learning model is adjusted to the conditions in the school area where the research is carried out. The trial was conducted on 36 students of class XI SMA Yapim Taruna Dolok Masihul. Student learning outcomes were measured using various instruments. Assessment of student knowledge is carried out using multiple-choice tests; assessment of student skills is measured using portfolio assessment, while attitude assessment is measured using questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Blended Learning learning model is able to improve student learning and learning outcomes. This can be seen from the learning activities of students in the class whose data was taken based on a questionnaire in the first cycle in the good category of 58.33% and in the second cycle it increased to 63.89% in the good category and 16.67% in the very good category. The increase in student learning activities was followed by an increase in student mastery of learning as shown in the posttest results at the end of the cycle. In the first cycle, the number of students who scored 70 was 25 students or 69.44%. In the second cycle, there was an increase of 24.45%, namely 88.89% or as many as 32 students who had obtained a score of 70.
