Abstract

Every company must be able to compete to improve the quality of products and services provided to consumers. Companies are competing to do many product innovations and improve quality and reduce product defects (reject) so that companies can achieve the expected benefits or profits. Likewise with the company PT. KLM, which is engaged in calendar printing, of course wants to produce quality products so that it can compete with other businessmen. In producing the calendar product, there are obstacles or problems encountered related to product defects. Based on the processed data, it can be explained that the total level of disability that occurs at PT. KLM by reaching 12.8%. To find out the causes of product defects in calendar design, a production quality control method is used, one of which is the Six Sigma method. Six Sigma is a quality control tool that can be used to measure the level of defects in service or manufacturing industries. In the application of six sigma using the DMAIC approach. From the results of the study, it was shown that the most potential causes in producing the final product were identified as follows: the type of defect in italics was 1343, then the number of blurry colors was 2856, then the number of images cut off was 870. From the calculation results of PT. KLM has a sigma level of 3.1 > 3.2 with the possibility of damage to the production of 41,000 calendars when producing 1,000,000 calendars.

Abstract

Safety and health in workplace is one of the main issues that must be considered in running company’s activities with the humanity, economic and regulation reason. By those reasons the companies will be motivated to make a safe work environment. Beside as a compliment to above reasons, the commitment, and a proof of zero lost time injury (LTI) will strengthen business competitiveness, because some work agreements among companies have been based on the requirement of work health and safety system application (SMK3). Generally, many ways in getting SMK3 good work performance, for example the application of stop work authority (SWA) if the activities have a potential hazard, safety card if there is a potential hazard in working area, Job safety observation and the others. This research takes the application of SWA and its influence on the amount of first aid case. According to Frank Bird’s theory which is known as accident pyramid, the more near miss happened, the more first aid cases, facilities damages, and fatalities. Stop work authority is hoped to minimize or to eliminate the first aid case so that no lost time injury.

Abstract

The company PT.XYZ is one of the manufacturing companies engaged in the manufacture of bicycles with small and large sizes. This company is experiencing problems with the increasing demand for bicycle orders. The constraints experienced by the company are the selection of locations to build new locations due to the increasing number of requests, after that the next thing that becomes important for a company is knowing the supply line from the company to several distributors, selecting alternative vehicles, production planning to overcome the increase in orders by the company. customer. In addition, the company needs to introduce a way of selling bicycles based on the internet in the form of a web because people already know how using bicycles is good for the environment. The data taken were selected from three locations called Location A, Location B, and Location C. The three locations have different characteristics and many problem so it is necessary to calculate using the Analytic Hierarchy Process Method. The location selection was chosen based on the calculation of the WSV Value, Index Consistency and Ratio.

Abstract

Basically, product quality is one of the important factors that becomes one of the benchmarks for the success of a product and the future of a company. Even though the production process is carried out well, the resulting product is often not as desired, or in other words it produces a damaged/defective product. The presence of defective products will reduce product quality and this causes losses to the business. To meet consumer satisfaction, business actors must be able to maintain product quality in accordance with consumer needs, in quality control which is very much needed to control the production process so that it conforms to predetermined standards. Small and Medium Industrial Factory (IKM) Bapak Warianto is one of the tempe production factories where in the tempe production process he found several tempe defects ranging from color, shape, to the packaging of the tempe that could not be sold. This research, which was conducted at tempe factory Bapak Warianto, aims to identify quality problems in tempe products, analyze the causal factors in tempe products and provide solutions to improve the tempe production process. The Seven Tools Method is the method that will be used in this research, where this method consists of several statistical tools that are used to determine product quality. From 10 sampling times, there were 4 types of defects in tempeh, of which the four types of defects were eaten as the most dominant/frequent defects. This is because the storage area for tempeh when fermented is not clean and not covered enough so that small animals can still enter. Lack of air circulation and human factors where workers are not careful are also some of the causes of damage to tempe.

Abstract

In the activity of lifting the box containing PCC onto the trolly at the MH DC section – Mr. Jailani. manual handling, the frequency of box mobilization is ± 5 times per hour, from the area where the box is filled to the chute. The weight of the load (PCC filled box) that is lifted is in the range of 12 kg - 16.5 kg, with a vertical lift from the conveyor to the top of the third box arrangement which is about ±50 cm. At the exit of the conveyor, the arrangement of boxes containing PCC is made two levels before being transferred to the trolley. The results of ergonomic measurements using the RWL and LI methods are as follows: The LI value for the Box lift point position level 1 with the origin of 1.42 means it has a moderate risk level (LI 1-<3) and an LI value of 1 means it has a moderate risk level (LI 1-<3) The LI value for the Box lift point position level 2 with the origin of 1.02 means it has a moderate risk level (LI 1-<3) and an LI value of 0.94 means it has a low risk level (LI <1) There is a decrease in the value of LI by improving the way of lifting weights so that the level of risk experienced by workers is also lower.

Abstract

Last year's learning activities at home or studying from home were carried out by a number of schools and the office sector due to the new type of corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) that causes Covid-19. This change in activity can have a negative impact on both physical and mental complaints that may occur due to behavior during lecture activities. During lectures there are still many of us who have not paid attention to the correct and safe position when conducting online meetings such as sitting position, distance between the computer screen and head, foot position, working or study room conditions, correct hand position and so on. So it is important for us to understand the definition of ergonomics in order to reduce the work risks that occur and determine a safer body position to do. Efficiency of human–computer interaction as well as user comfort, health and safety can be improved by applying ergonomic principles. Based on this, the purpose of this study is to identify student behavior during lectures, measure physical complaints (MSD and visual fatigue) and provide recommendations to minimize negative impacts that occur using the ROSA (Rapid Office Strain Assessment) method. With this method, it can be seen that some students surveyed using the ROSA method resulted in a final score of 2 which means they have a low level of danger, but must still pay attention to various aspects of sitting in a sitting position while doing lectures by avoiding the use of smartphones in a non-sitting position. chair so as not to pose a risk of dangerous disease.

Abstract

This research was conducted to provide an assessment by observing the services and facilities applied to the campus parking lot at one of the universities. To support this research, we also collected data by distributing questionnaires to the parking lot users. In conducting the assessment, we use the Service Quality method which refers to five kinds of satisfaction attribute methods, namely reliability, responsiveness, tangible, assurance, and empathy. The assessment will be grouped based on these five kinds of attributes and the difference or distance between reality and expectations from the level of satisfaction, if the distance between reality and expectations is getting closer, the level of customer satisfaction will be higher, on the contrary if the distance between the two is getting further, the level of satisfaction will be lower. In these observations, we obtained some data and conclusions where the lowest level of satisfaction was found in the assurance assessment section, which means that the form of accountability applied to the parking lot service is still relatively low and still needs to be improved. The advice we give is to change the policy so that the form of responsibility that is applied can be improved, such as applying a warranty in the event of a loss of either the vehicle or driving equipment or conducting a search and repair in the event of loss or damage to either the vehicle or driving equipment.

Abstract

- The system of selling goods at the cashier still uses a method that is not yet computerized. This is very unfortunate because it does not take advantage of the technological system that is currently growing. Information technology that uses a computerized system in recording sales can be very useful, and in accordance with actual sales data, so there is little possibility of price manipulation and stock availability. This can also be used so that employees are better at processing sales transactions, which are currently only recorded in the register book or a sales ledger, and the stock of goods is recorded manually in the stock book. In addition, there is no proper recording of customer data, so that if the store wants to hold a sales promotion, it is difficult to contact customers. The design of the sales administration application program at Nad House Bakery can help staff who serve as cashiers in recording customer data, data on goods sold to sales transactions. So that sales reports do not need to be made or calculated manually. So besides including time efficiency, it can also be efficient for storage. Sales reports can also produce more precise data because they are stored in the database during the sales process

Abstract

One of the most important activities in Mining industry is the exploration step, Because the result of this activities will be as a basis of taking a decision about the continuity of mining activities in the future. This step must give the accuracy of information about the mineral content and the geological condition where the mining activity is done. The sample preparation is one of the parts of laboratory activities in exploration step. This activity is the first process before analyzing the sample content, so that this process must be organized and controlled as well for getting high quality final analysis result which is based on its precision and accuracy value. In getting the precision and accuracy of value content in the sample, the beginning process until finish in the laboratory activities must be assured that no value interference from the other source or other sample. The Mobile Sample Preparation Unit (MSPU) is one of the designs which can be applied in remote area where the exploration activities are done.
