Manajemen IKM merupakan Jurnal Pengembangan Manajemen Industri Kecil Menengah (IKM) yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Industri Kecil Menengah (MPI) Sekolah Pascasarjana IPB sejak September 2006, memuat kegiatan dunia usaha kecil menengah (UKM), khususnya IKM beserta instansi yang terkait seperti perbankan, departemen teknis dan usaha swasta besar dan petani/nelayan. Manajemen IKM terbit setiap 6 bulan sekali (Februari dan September) dan ditujukan sebagai wadah untuk mengkomunikasikan hasil-hasil penelitian dari kajian tugas akhir mahasiswa MPI, khususnya yang terkait dengan pembinaan dan pengembangan IKM. Namun demikian, tulisan yang diterima Manajemen IKM terbuka bagi berbagai kalangan yang memiliki ketertarikan dalam pembinaan dan pengembangan IKM, baik itu peneliti, penyuluh, maupun pengusaha. Dengan diterbitkannya jurnal ini, maka kedepannya diharapkan lebih dipahami potensi, kendala dan pengembangan IKM melalui pendekatan holistik dan sinergi yang dilihat dari faktor-faktor ekonomi, manajerial dan faktor-faktor lainnya seperti kemitraan. Perintisan jurnal sebagai berkala ilmiah berwawasan nasional dimulai sejak Februari 2006 dengan nama Jurnal MPI dengan No. ISSN 1907-3127 yang memuat 9 judul artikel pada setiap edisi. Mulai terbitan edisi September 2009, judulnya dirubah menjadi Jurnal Manajemen IKM dengan No. ISSN 2085-8418. Jurnal Manajemen IKM selama ini mampu menjadi sarana penyebarluasan informasi ilmiah kepada para dosen atau peneliti lainnya, maupun masyarakat pengguna, serta sarana pengembangan.

Abstract

PD Jaya Saputra as a Small Medium Enterprise (SME), which produces Cimanuk rice, wants its product to become Pandeglang’s pride icon.  Cimanuk rice has a good quality, so it can penetrate not only the national but also the international market (export).  The objective of this study are (1) Identify and evaluate the condition of SMEs PD Jaya Saputra, (2)Analyze the feasibility of business development through quality improvement, and (3) Prepare alternative strategies appropriate for their business development through quality improvement.The data needed for this study originated from the primary and secondary data. The data analysis was performed  through adescriptive methods, namely SWOT, QSPM, and feasibility analysis  through assessment criteria the PBP, Net B/C, BEP, NPV, and IRR.  IFE matrix resulted in a score of 2.688,  EFE matrix of 2.758, and the IE matrix, all of which  are in quadrant V, namely growth/stabilization quadrant, which means that the firm must conduct strategies for market penetration and development.  The recommended strategies are applying rice production technology to obtain quality, improving and maintaining quality in accordance to the rice grades and quality regulation to maintain consumer’s loyalty, improving quality of human resources in production and marketing section through informal channels.  The results of the eligibility criteria analysis showed the BEP 84.866, PBP 32 months, Net B/C 1.044, a positive NPV 765.395, and IRR 17%. The quality improvement can be done through improvement of management and human resources, cultivation, harvesting and post-harvesting, including machine repair and proper packaging

Abstract

Kuningan District where agriculture is the inhabitant main livelihood, has the potential for agro based industry sectors. One of Small Industries (SI) which sustain to grow since the 1960's in the Kuningan District is Tofu industry. The purpose of this study were to analyze business performance, to analyze the needs and feasibility of business development and to formulate a strategy in business development of Tofu SI. Data collection methods used were field surveys and in-depth interviews with related experts. Information obtained from the District Government and KOPTI. Data processing technique was using Friedman test and the AHP. Feasibility analysis of business development  of tofu small industry obtained NPV of Rp395.696.655, IRR of 38,72%, B/C ratio of 3.10, PBP of 1.19 years and BEP value of 260.304 units. All these criteria show that further business development  is feasible. Tofu business development strategy based on AHP analysis covers aspects of product manufacturing processes, waste management and business financing. Priority strategies to improve the quality of products is by training human resources such as scheduling techniques relating in utilization of raw materials, raw material selection, division of work, techniques for preparing SOP and also supervision and quality control of products. Priority strategies for waste water treatment efforts is the training of waste water treatment into biogas, producing nata de soya and biofilter. Abstract

The food industry is generally growing with the increase of production capacity is the addition of engine capacity, the addition of human resources caused by the existing production capacity is not sufficient. The purpose of this study were to (1) analyze the feasibility of trading; (2) analyze and evaluate the factors that affect the internal and external business continuity trade; (3) Recommending priorities marketing strategies. The method of collecting the data in this study were collected through observations and interviews. Feasibility study with the financial ratio approach, such as PBP, B/C Ratio, NPV and IRR. The data obtained were analyzed by using the matrix IFE, EFE, IE, SWOT and QSPM. The result of the financial feasibility analysis shows that the PBP for 2.3 years (approximately 27 months), net B/C ratio of more than one (1.75), at a discount rate of 9.2% obtained a value of Rp747.79 millions positive NPV, IRR amounted to 33.60% higher discount rate as required by 9.2%. This indicates that PD snack business. Sinar Berlian financially feasible. Results of identification and evaluation of the factors of strategy, IFE values obtained at 2.776 and 2.677 for the value of EFE. The combination of these two values in the matrix indicates that the marketing strategy lies in the quadrant of the five, namely the growth and stability. The strategies that can be run, ie market penetration, product development and market. Based on calculations derived QSP matrix of the most attractive strategy to be applied is Marketing Aspect which is expanding market share in major Indonesian cities by utilizing the media campaign

Abstract

The most widely cultivated seaweed in aquatic Karimunjawa is Kappaphycus alvarezii, because low venture capital, high market demand, low-cost production technology, production cycle is short, post-harvest handling is easy, and simple as well as market share is still open. This study aims to (1) Evaluate the feasibility of seaweed cultivation; (2) Identify factors that influence internal and external business seaweed cultivation; (3) Develop appropriate strategies in business development efforts to the cultivation of seaweed. Financial data were analyzed according to the criteria value NPV, B/C ratio, IRR, PBP, and BEP. Identification of environmental factors was evaluated by IFE dan EFE matrix, mapped to the IE matrix to view the company's position. Strategy formulation with SWOT and QSP matrix. The result of feasibility analysis showed that seaweed cultivation efforts with longline method financially profitable and feasible. This was indicated by a positive NPV value of 30.81 million rupiah; B/C ratio (2.69), IRR (47.58%); PBP 1.61 years; BEP 13.23 million rupiah or sales of 1,474 kg of dried seaweed. With a total score value of the internal-external matrix of 2.52 and 2.83. The combination of these two values indicates that the position of the business lies in V cells or growth strategies. The most appropriate strategies are the empowerment of members and business groups to increase their business, and increased cultivation of technical skills for the improvement of product quality. These three strategies can be implemented simultaneously as mutually supporting one another.

Abstract

Shrimp is one of the leading commodities of the fisheries. Quality seed is one of the critical success factors of the cultivation so that the business activities of hatchery hatcheries should adopt the technique in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and apply a quality management of seed of the Good Fish Breeding mode (CPIB) or Good Hatchery Practices (GHP). The aim of this thesis include (1) knowing the level of implementation of quality management in small to medium (SME’s) shrimp hatchery in and (2) analyze the relationship between the level of implementation of quality management on firm performance. Location of the research conducted on shrimp hatchery units located in the districts of Situbondo and Banyuwangi, both who have or have not passed the certification mode of CPIB. Data collection methods include interviews and observation. Level of implementation of quality management in shrimp hatcheries in both East Java that has been certified or not, is at a fairly high level, at three different levels, namely level of Quality Control (QC) Statistics (42.9%), Quality Assurance or QA (21.4%) and 35.7% at the level of implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM). From all levels of implementation of SQC quality management, QA and TQM, there are four predominant factors that could affect the company's performance, namely: cost efficiency, the percentage of undergraduate (S1), human resource (HR) Percentage training per year and the percentage of customer complaints. Policies need to be taken to the level of TQM is to conduct QC management so that the dominant factors that can provide high business performance can be maintained, to the level of SQC is to conduct QC activities are synchronized with the training activities is appropriate, considering the level of training at this level relatively very low. While the policy needed to be taken to the level of QA is the need to improve the quality fry strived to meet the established minimum standards and will be even better if the feasibility of obtaining certification so it will be able to improve the competitiveness of selling fries, both quantity and price. A guaranteed quality of production need to be given this level has a number of customer complaints is very high compared to the two other levels, well above average

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is one of a growing economic activity and income real contribution to society. There are variety of products, qualities level and quantities they made. SMEs with good quality product and affordable price is choosen by society. This research is aimed to identify the level of quality managemet applications in SMEs. Data collection techniques with census method, using the tools of the questionnaire is enclosed with a Likert scale (1-5) in the form of verbal categories strongly agree-strongly disagree. Data were analyzed descriptively to look at consumer perceptions of the statements in the questionnaire with the Technique Criteria Range. To find out the company's performance using the BSC. The research showed that the quality management has been perceived to be well implemented by company owner, employee, consumer and distributor.  The result and analysis for ChiDe Wrought Iron Design using BSC method show: (1) financial aspect is healthy showed by rentability, liquidity and solvability ratio above 100%; (2) customer perspective showed from enterprise capability to maintain customer 8 out of 13 (61,5%) has been loyal for 3 years; (3) internal business process is quite good from stand poin of innovation capability and operation. After sale service were not carried out carefully; (4) organization learn and growth is stated by employees satisfaction is quite good (96%). As small as ChiDe Wrought Iron Design SMEs ISO 9000 seems not important to be implemented, basic reason for the thought are the consumer doesn’t require ISO 9000 certifications as guarantee for good quality. The most important thing and need to be developed by company is the commitment to quality product (realibility of the product), efficiency, effectivity, productivity and continuous improvement of production process

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki potensi ikan yang melimpah, tetapi tidak diikuti dengan tingkat konsumsi ikan dalam negeri yang tinggi. Dalam hal ini, perilaku, persepsi dan preferensi konsumen menjadi penting untuk diketahui. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis pola konsumsi ikan di masyarakat, menganalisis persepsi masyarakat terhadap produk ikan, mengidentifikasi preferensi masyarakat terhadap ikan dan menyusun strategi pengembangan peningkatan konsumsi ikan.  Metode dalam kajian menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis logit. Responden dalam kajian berjumlah 120 responden anggota rumah tangga. Hasil kajian menunjukkan pola yang meningkat seiring dengan semakin bertambahnya usia. Pilihan konsumsi ikan dalam bentuk segar mengalami pergeseran menjadi bentuk olahan seiring dengan meningkatnya pendidikan konsumen. Preferensi masyarakat terhadap ikan secara umum menunjukkan pola preferensi yang homogen. Hasil analisis logit dan uji khi kuadrat menunjukkan bahwa hanya terdapat satu faktor yang paling dominan mempengaruhi konsumen untuk mengkonsumsi ikan, yakni usia. Strategi pengembangan produk yang perlu dilakukan adalah mendekatkan ikan segar yang bermutu baik kepada masyarakat dan pengembangan produk olahan ikan bakso ikan, nugget ikan dan ikan kaleng, pengenalan ragam produk olahan dengan media yang tepat, serta mendekatkan ikan kepada masyarakat dengan harga terjangkau

Abstract

Micro and Small Enterprises has a strategic role in national economy, especially in employment absorption, increase incomes and generate economic activity. Since the economic crisis hit Indonesia in 1998, the role of MSEs increased sharply, as it turns out large-scale efforts many are fragile and fall caused by the economic crisis. The general objective of this study is to examine the outcome of the policy and provide input for decision-makers about the MSEs. Specifically this study aims to (1) Identify the types of assistance/aid and partnership provided by the government, private and cooperative services to MSEs, (2) Perform analysis of income levels MSE, (3) Perform analysis of the effect of assistance and partnership on income of MSEs. The analysis performed are descriptive analysis by cross tabulation and statistical inference by using the mean difference test, using analysis of variance (ANOVA), after performing the test assumptions. In general, from the 1.785 sample there are 48,29% of MSEs male entrepreneurs, and aged between 30-59 years (82,02%), with the majority of education is below elementary school (74,73%). MSEs receiving assistance/aid and partnership, its production capacity distributed at the level of 51-75 percent and 75% upwards. There is a 72,92% of MSEs that received assistance and partnerships who have difficulty. The results of inferential analysis indicate that there are significant differences at average benefit without treatment with MSE receiving assistance/aid and the MSE with partnership, but there is no significant difference between MSE without treatment with MSE with both receiving assistance/aid and partnerships

Abstract

One area of agribusiness that has good prospects for development is the cultivation of papaya farming Bangkok, because the market demand is still huge, rapid investment payback period, the price is relatively stable, and continuous harvest throughout the year. The market opportunity is still wide open, because the supply is currently still lacking. Located in the Village Prangkoan, Mertoyudan District, Magelang regency, Central Java. The purpose of this study was to (1) analyze the feasibility of Papaya Bangkok cultivation with his own land and rent system, (2) business feasibility analysis Papaya Bangkok cultivation with leased land and the cultivation of papaya integration model of Bangkok's most profitable for entrepreneurs to raise Papaya Bangkok cultivation. Quantitative analysis carried out to analyze the feasibility of the financial aspects using the criteria of NPV, IRR, Gross benefit and Cost Ratio, Sensitifitas, and BEP analysis. NPV value of aquaculture in their own land is higher at Rp103,793,371.93, while cultivating the land lease Rp60,069,785.97. This shows that the net benefits received from cultivation in their own land is greater than in the land lease. Judging from the value of Gross IRR and B/C, indicating that the value of Gross IRR and B/C for all the cultivation is > 0, so that both are good at cultivating their own land or on leased land eligible to run. When viewed from the BEP, the BEP for the cultivation of the land it self is 1548 units and Rp6,190,661, while for the cultivation of the land rent is 6972 units and Rp10,457,406.67. Comparison of financial feasibility between the two tampat cultivation shows that of both types of businesses, the cultivation of the land itself is a more viable business cultivated. It can be seen from the financial eligibility criteria of the cultivation the land itself has a better value

Abstract

Due to the rapid growth of the global business, the establishment of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which has highly competitiveness is necessary to be conducted. One of several important factors that influence the building of the SMEs mentioned above is the ability of innovation and technological capabilities, where the SMEs due to lack of access to technology. One of the reason why the SMEs do not have the updated technology is because they do not have the access to the Research and Development (R&D) Institutions which create the updated and the appropriate technology. In this instance, the SMEs is solely as the users of technology. In this concept of innovation systems, it is attempted to build an institution which has its role and function, as an intermediate actor between the R & D institutions and the SMEs.  This research was chosen one LI, that is the Technology Incubator Center (BIT) at Puspitek Serpong, which aims (1) to identify the characteristic and conditions of BIT, (2) to identify the factors that influence the successes of BIT as LI, (3) to formulate a strategy and feasibility of developing BIT.  Matrix IFE, EFE, IE, SWOT, and QSPM were used for processing and data analyses. Factors that influenced the successes of BIT performance were the number of human resources, fund availability and financial services, infrastructure, networking, appropriate services and serious/strong commitment for tutoring and helping tenants (SMEs). Based on analysis of functional feasibility, BIT has fulfill the requirement as a good organization, as an intermediary institution and as a business incubator. Based on the determination of QSPM matrix, there were three main strategies to be implemented to BIT are: (1) To increase the utilization and the use of existing human resources to enlarge  the number and to enhance the competitiveness of assisted SMEs; (2) To maintain and to enhance the quality and the quantity of technology services for SMEs assisted, via utilization technology produced by R & D institutions; (3) To maintain and to enhance the quality and the quantity of market access services to acquire bigger share of  market for assisted SMEs's  products
