Abstract

This research focused on the implementation of GI-GI model in learning of physics on the subject of work and energy. The aim of this research are: to study the influence of the model to students’ physics achievement, to describe students’ physics learning activities and students’ retention. A kind of this research is experiment by post test only control group design. The population of this research is students of class XI IPA in SMAN 1 Pakusari and the sample is two classes, XI IPA 4 as an experiment group and XI IPA 5 as a control group. Data collection techniques are documentation, observation, interview and test. Data analysis tecniques to study the influence of the model to students’ physics achievement is independent sample t-test on SPSS 22, to describe students’ physics learning activities and students’ retention use descriptive analysis with percentage. Findings of research are: (1) students’ physics learning activities during the model is 87,9% in very active criteria. (2) students’ physics achievement after using the model showed sig.value (2-tailed) is 0,02 or < 0,05 and it shows that there is a significance difference of student’s physics achievement between the experimental group and control group. (3) Students’ retention after using the model is 109,5% in high category. The research can be concluded that: GI-GI model has a significance influential to the students physics achievement on the subject of work and energy, students’ physics activities included in very active criteria and students’ retention included in high category.

Abstract

This research purpose was to create a new product in the form of multi-representation based module that can be used in learning activities. Multi-representation based module was an interesting module that made students understand the material easily. The purpose of this research was to produce a valid multi-representation based modules, to describe the students’ multi-representation ability and to know the students' response to the use of multi-representation based modules. The research design used the 4-D model that was reduced to be 3-D. The results of the research showed that the multi-representation based module was categorized quite valid with the value of expert validation was 3.89. Multi-representation capability on high criteria with N-gain value is 0.75. Meanwhile, the student's response was in the positive response category with the value of 79.4%. Multi-representation based module contained verbal representation, mathematical, pictures and graphs that were useful to help students to understand the material. Based on the results of this research, it could be concluded that the multi-representation based module was suitable to use as an interesting learning module. Abstract

This research was a developmental research. The product of this research was inthe form of students’ worksheet or LKS along with anime video in the topic of fluiddynamic at senior high school. The model of this development was ADDIE (Analyze,Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). The research instruments used inthis research were in the form of validation sheet, critical thinking ability test, andstudents’ response questionnaire. Based on the validation results from the experts and theusers, it was known that the score for the LKS was 86,45% while for the anime video87,05%. Both of them were at the level of perfectly valid. The result of the pre-test andpost-test analysis showed that the average of N-gain score was 0,56 which was in themedium category. The students’ response of the use of LKS with anime video was 83,17%which was categorized as positive response.Key words: LKS, anime video, validation, students’ response, critical thinking.

Abstract

Abstract REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring) was one of teach model in contextualization proposed by Michael L. Crawford.Therefore, this research was focused on the development of teaching materials basedon REACT in learning physics for Senior High School. A product produced by thisresearch is the students’ book. The purpose of this study to determine the validity ofbook, describing effectiveness and student’s response after using teaching materialbased on REACT. The research used research and development (R&D) model with theprocedure claimed by Borg and Gall, which was modified into four phase, namely:1)research and information gathering, 2)planning, 3)development of initial design ofproduct,until 4)initial field experiment. Data result analyzed by descriptive qualitativemethod and quantitative descriptive. The results of this research indicates that theteaching materials based on REACT was very good with validity 90,02%. Meanwhile,teaching materials in the form of teaching material-based on REACT has mediumvalue N-Gain amount 0,69 ,but student gives good response with 84,41% positive toteaching materials based on REACT.Key word: teaching materials based on REACT, validity, effectiveness, response.

Abstract

This research concentrated of guided inquiry model accompanied with probing-prompting technique for activity and learning outcomes physisics in SMA. The purposes of this research were to study the effect of using inquiry model accompanied with probing-prompting technique to student’s learning activities and kognitif student’s achievement. The type of this research was an experimental research by post-test control group design. Population of the research was all student’s at SMAN 1 Pakusari. The technique to collect data was documentation, observation, interview, and tests. The analysis result description of student learning activities for experiment class equals to 85.80 % is in active criteria. The analysis data of kognitif student’s achievement by using independent sample t-test for significant value (1-tailed) was 0,018(≤0,05), it’s mean the kognitif students’ achievement for experiment class is better than control class (Ha accepted and Ho refused). Conclusion of this research are : (1) student’s learning activities using guided inquiry model accompanied with probing-prompting technique is in active criteria which percentage level of activity is 85.80%. (2) Guided Inquiry Model accompanied with probing-prompting technique has significant effect of learning outcomes physisics in SMA. Keywords: guided inquiry model, probing-prompting technique

Abstract

This study was aimed at describing: (1) the expert validity of flipbook medialearning, (2) the users validity of flipbook media learning and (3) audience validityof flipbook media learning. This study was development research of 4-D method(define, design, develop, disseminate). The subjects of this study was students ofclass VIIIC Nuris junior high school Jember. The instruments used were sheet ofworksheet validation, sheet of student perfomance assement, sheet of studentresponse, and sheet of observstion. The result showed that: (1) expert validity offlipbook media learning was 86,47% with very valid category (2) user validity offlipbook media learning was 81,43% with valid category (3) audience validityvalidity of flipbook media learning was 90,39% with very valid, very effective,verycomplete, and can use without revision. Conclusion this reseach was flipbook medialearning on the material object motion in junior high school decent to be used as aphysics science of learning material in junior high school.Keywords : learning media, flipbook, motion

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to describe the students’ misconceptionsin alternating current circuit in the twelfth grade of Senior High School. Thiskind of research was descriptive research. The research population was allstudents of twelfth grade in Senior High School B. The samples of the researchwere the students of class Science X, Science Y, and Science Z. Data collectionmethod used in this research was test and documentation. The test instrumentthat used was a four-tier test. The result showed that students of Senior HighSchool B had misconception in alternating current circuit with the percentageof 40.3% and it was categorized very low. Abstract

Creative Problem Solving is a learning model which gives the opportunity to students constructing concepts, discussing materials, issuing opinions, and developing creativity in learning group. The purpose of this research was understand the improvement of concepts comprehension and scientific creativity skill of students on Elasticity and Hooke's law. This research was included in descriptive. This research was carried out based on the school availability as a place of research,. Research respondent in this case is Man 1 JEMBER in Science Class. Furthermore, sampling technique in this study was based on purposive sampling area. Collecting data method used pre-test and post-test. In this research, the instrument was essay test, consisted of nine item of concept comprehension and seven item of scientific creativity. The data analysis method of concept comprehension and seven item of scientific creativity used Normalized Gain (Ng). Based on this study, the concept comprehension of students significantly increased to 0,71 (high) while the scientific creativity skill increased to 0.4 (medium).Keyword: CPS, Concept Comprehension, Scientific Creativity Skill

Abstract

Guided inquiry is the application of constructivism learning theory which is based on scientific examination and investigation. The purposes of this research are too: (1) examine the differences in students science learning result using guided inquiry learning model with contextual-based video and learning model commonly used in SMP; (2) describe students activities; (3) describe students motivation. This research is a kind of experimental research which uses randomized post-test only control group design. The samples of this research are the students of class VII at SMPN 7 Jember, i.e. class VII B as a control class and class VII C as an experimental class. The data were analyzed using Independent Sample T-test in SPSS 16 to show differences between experimental class and control class. The results of this research are: (1) there are differences in students science learning result using guided inquiry learning model with contextual-based video and learning model commonly used in SMP; (2) the percentage of students activities is 87.81%; and (3) the percentage of students motivation is 85.77%.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose research and development of students worksheets science based onlocal wisdom of coffee on the subject effort and energy were described validity of product,described critical thinking skill of students and described students response. Thisworksheets arranged with indicators of critical thinking were interpretation, analysis,inference, evaluation, explanation, and self regulation. The design of this research anddevelopment by Sugiyono that was (1) potential and problem, (2) data collection, (3) theproduct design, (4) validation design, (5) revision design, (6) testing products, and (7)revision products. The techniques of data collection were validity, test, questionnaire,and documentation. The result showed that (1) the students worksheets science based onlocal wisdom of coffee was very valid and value of validation 86,43 % it can be usedwithout revision; (2) the students worksheets science based on local wisdom of coffee waseffective to increase critical thinking skill of students and value indicators of criticalthinking skill 72,99 % with good predicate, and N-gain value 0,47 with medium category;and (3) the students worksheets science based on local wisdom of coffee was verypractically to students and the value of students response 85,98% with very goodcategory.Key word: local wisdom, validity, critical thinking, students response
