Abstract

Brickworks Center in Potorono is the center of brickworks which is quite large in Bantul and produces high amount of both raw bricks, which has not been burned yet, and the mature bricks, or the burned one. Manual material handling work on the activity of brick production has high risk of causing spinal injury (low-back pain). This research aims to analyze the activity of material handling work by using Rapid Entire Body Assessment and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment approaches and also create design proposal by using 5-Step Method of Concept Designing to design working aids which can applied to improve working posture. From the data assessment and analysis, the result of Rapod Entire Body Assessment score on the first posture is 9, second posture is 4, third posture is 8, fourth posture is 5 and the score of Rapid Upper Limb Assessment is all 7, which in general, those scores are potential to have high risk of low-back pain so that it needs improvement of working postures. The improvement of working posture has carried out by creating Roller Conveyor Modification to reduce the risk of low-back pain injury. The final result after improvement has been carried out is the score of Rapid Entire Body Assessment is 1 and the score of Rapid Upper Limb Assessment is 3, which show decreasing score.

Abstract

Production planning and control is a theory which discusses all the activities that take place in a production process which includes product planning, costs, production processes, scheduling, forecasting demand and many other products. Planning the amount of inventory that will be owned company is one of the problems often faced by companies. Especially when the inventory is one important factor that can support the company's production processes and help meet customer demand. For companies that have strategies make to stock, inventory can have a major impact on the pricing of the product or the company's finances. Appropriate inventory management can be one of the keys to minimize and optimize the company's costs to be incurred. Determination lot size in MRP is a complex and difficult problem. Lot size is defined as a quantity stated in the order acceptance and delivery of orders in the MRP. Decisions about the size of the lot and when production is very important because it involves the use of labor and equipment are economical. Based on observations there are 13 components which are arranged in the trolley assembly process and are divided into 4 work stations in the production process. After making a map process operations per each work station, the cycle time for 1800 seconds is obtained. Based on data analysis about inventory costs for each component, it can be seen that the calculation using the EOQ method is the method that produces the calculation results with the largest value of Rp. 111,000,500, - then for the L4L and POQ methods produce the calculation results that have the same value of Rp. 16,200,000. Then the decision taken is to choose the L4L method because with this technique can produce exactly how many raw materials needed.

Abstract

Tight competition in the food industry especially bread does not shrink the sales of bread produced by CV. Anni Bakery, but there are some problems that arise at this time, the limited production floor which is increasingly narrow due to increased production without adjusting existing capacity and the irregular placement of production floor facilities. The background is used as a reference for the company to create a new factory. The purpose of this study is to propose the layout of production floor facilities with the right facility layout so that the cost of transferring materials is small. The systematic layout planning (SLP) approach was used. The result performance of the 1st proposal layout obtained material handling distance of 405 meters while in the 2nd proposal layout the material handling distance becomes 386 meters. The cost of moving the proposed material to 1 obtained a total cost of 22,644,300 rupiah per month, while in the second material transfer fee the total cost of 21,993,825 rupiah per month. Based on the alternative initial layout and the proposed layout, the most suitable layout is the second proposal layout.. So this facility layout plan is feasible for new factory to create.

Abstract

All manufacturing industries need to perform a continuous efforts to survive in the current competitive and challenging market. In order to manage the critical situation, the stakeholders are trying to implement the most recent and innovative technique to the production system. The aim is to attain effective and efficient. One important step to reach efficient working process is by understanding wastes occurred along the production line and try to reducing their presence. Lean manufacturing approach is one of the powerful philosophies to guide a company to improve their quality, by providing varieties of tools and strategies. This approach is able to help company in many sectors, such as identification and elimination of waste, better quality of product and service, lowering the production cost, reducing the human effort and the production process time. In this study, a small industry was chosen as the object of the research. The aim of the research is to identify waste that occurs in the production using waste assessment model then solve the problem and determine the value added activity in the whole production process of cake using value stream mapping. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that based on the current state value stream mapping, the value of the process cycle efficiency is only 28.49% which is still relatively un-lean. From the overview is also identified the departments that were subjected to the identification are the emergence of goods WIP (work in process), the amount of finished goods inventory, and long lead time. After using PAM, it is known that the whole process of making cake consisted of 28.49% of time spent on value-added activities, 3.35% non-value-added activities, and the rest for necessary but non value added activity. This study has proposed schedule for the Green-bean-filling`s department. This proposed schedule is able to increase the process cycle efficiency to 41.36%. Keyword: lean manufacturing, waste identification, waste assessment model, value stream mapping

Abstract

Tourism is a resource that can be developed in Indonesia because it has a positive impact on economic growth both locally and nationally which can increase regional income so that local community empowerment and poverty alleviation can be done. One of the efforts in developing the local economy is by making regional superior products such as the development of batik that has been internationally recognized by UNESCO as Indonesia's cultural heritage. Karawang has distinctive batik and is different from batik from other regions, so this batik is admired by the Karawang community itself. The distribution of Karawang batik still has many obstacles both in terms of regional conditions, the number of craftsmen and branding that are not yet strong. This research focuses on re-mapping the flow of Karawang batik distribution with reference to risk management. This research is very important to improve the flow distribution of Karawang batik, so that it will make the distribution coverage of this batik even wider. This study uses a mapping method  distribution flow, taking into account the risk management. The risk management itself uses a Risk Register map, so that the risk exposure from Karawang batik will be increasingly clear and is expected to make mitigation and minimize risk. After conducting a causal analysis and risk map, several proposals were extended to expand the scope of marketing, including the Religious Community, the Government Organizations, Banking Companies, Private Companies, Motor and Car Commodities. The proposal is expected to be implemented and have a positive influence. Furthermore, it will be monitored once a year to see the changes < Keyword: batik karawang; causal analysis; risk register map

Abstract

Halal products are produced through toyyib processes so that they can be used and consumed by consumers, especially Muslims. Toyyib, which isa prerequisite for halal products, is translated asaform of guarantee of the procurement process, material handling, products, and transportation in accordance with Islamic law. The collaboration betweenproducers andsuppliers, distributors, and consumers is the key to implementing supply chain management (SCM) of halal products. Then, the participation of all business actors in the supply chain network to engage in continuous improvement is an articulation of the implementation of total quality management (TQM). The previous literature shows that research that examines halal products from the perspective of TQM and SCM is still limited. Therefore, this paper investigates halal products from the viewpoint of TQM and SCM. Both perspectives are used with the consideration that the toyyib process is not only the responsibility of the producer, but also the responsibility of the supplier, distributor, and consumer. The combination of TQM and SCM is expected to produce a production process for halal products that conformswith Islamic law

Abstract

PT X is an information and communication company as well as a complete telecommunication service and network provider in Indonesia. In serving customer needs related to services, PT X has Plasa spread across 535 outlets throughout Indonesia until 2019.. Plasa is PT X outlet or place of service, which is fully managed by PT X or in cooperation with service partners. According to the explanation given by the Team Leader Plasa has service standards in serving customer needs including the standard customer service time is 10 minutes and the standard number of customers per CSR is 15 customers. But at PT X Yogyakarta the system actually only has one Customer Service to serve 50 customers and the service time sometimes exceeds the predetermined time standard. This resulted in quite long queues and long waiting times. The purpose of this research is to know the appropriate queue simulation model using flexim 6.0 so that waiting time at Plasa can be minimized. The average waiting time required by customers in the queuing system at Plasa is 3248.44 seconds and based on the alternatives that have been made, it can be seen that experiment 1 is the best, this is because the maximum waiting time achieved is better than experiments 2 and 3.
