Abstract

Introduction: The patients suffering from hypertension require treatment to prevent the complications by performing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological hypertension management. This research aims at revealing the difference of sodium intake, physical activities, and psychological problems in patients suffering from hypertension in rural and urban areas. Methods: This descriptive-quantitative research employs a cross sectional design. The research was conducted at Gondokusuman Community Health Center 1 as the representation from the urban areas and Cangkringan Community Health Center as the representation from the rural areas. There were 81 patients from rural areas and 74 from urban areas. Data were collected using a consecutive sampling technique with Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) and Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42). The data analysis was conducted using both chi-square test and independent t-test. Results: The result of independent t-test for sodium intake was at p = 0.669 (p > 0.005). The result of analysis using chi-square test for physical activity was at p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). The result of analysis using chi-square test for depression level is at p = 0.964 (p > 0.05), anxiety level at p = 0.005 (p < 0.05) and stress level at p = 0.846 (p > 0.05). Conclusions: There are some differences in physical activities and anxiety levels in patients suffering from hypertension in rural and urban areas.

Abstract

Introduction: Spiritual care of patients in health services that are not yet optimal needs to be anticipated by nursing education institutions to increase the competence of graduates in spiritual careMethod: Research design used Classroom Action Research (CAR). The study was conducted in three cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection steps. Implementation step used case-based learning. Learning process was performed in the second grade nursing students with lessons about Islamic Spiritual Care and included 19 students and 3 collaborators. Students participated in this study with total sampling method. Successful research was indicated by 85% of students achieving mastery in learning on concept understanding as well as psychomotor aspects. Data collection was performed using documentation method by knowledge test, psychomotor test, observations, and interview. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Results: The results show that all aspects of the spiritual competency nursing student assessed including cognitive, psychomotor, and affective at the end cycle were in good category (100%). The results of the cognitive level test before cooperative learning and case-based learning showed a significant difference with p < 0.001.Conclusion: The implementation of case-based and cooperative learning provides a positive experience for students to more easily understand the application of nursing processes in spiritual care.

Abstract

Introductin: Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is the focus of global health problems due to its very high mortality rate. The reason is the late reporting and administration of CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) actions. A solution   is to provide CPR training in the community to form a CPR bystander who can be willing to voluntarily provide CPR actions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the Subject Matter Analysis (SMA) training model on knowledge in dealing with Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) events. Methods: This study uses a Pre-experimental (One Group Pretest-Posttest) design using inclusion criteria. The independent variable in this study is SMA, while the dependent variable is the level of knowledge. The number of samples in this study was 50s, one group without control group. The instrument used a knowledge level questionnaire. Measuring the BLS (Basic Life Support) recognition rate was by using a questionnaire; the data were analyzed using the SPSS for Window program with a dependent t-test. Results: Based on what respondents answers there was a significant influence with the calculation of results showing ρ value = 0.001 less than 0.05. Conclusion: This means that, after the posttest, there was an increase in the level of knowledge facing the OHCA event.

The dependent variable was right medication. Data were collected by using questionnares for independent variables and dependent variable. Data were analyzed by using Binary Logistic Regression with degree of significance α>0,05. Results. Binary Logistic Regression test showed non significance level between centralized drug with right medication (P=0.501), team leadership with right medication (P=0.874), and nurses`s knowledge with right medication (P=0.243). Discussion. This study concluded centralized drug, team leadership, and nurse`s knowledge were good. But, there are nurses that have negative value at right medication, however right medication in RSUD Sidoarjo has majority positive value. Keywords: centralized drug, right medication

Abstract

Introduction: Dense block system and online learning during the covid-19 pandemic has led to complaints of boredom, tiredness and fatigue causing academic fatigue syndrome (academic burnout). Unresolved academic burnout will lead to a decline in academic achievement and decrease of interest in education. This also affects the performance of educational institutions. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to address academic burnout in students.  This research aims to determine the effect of academic self-efficacy training on academic burnout experienced by nursing students. Methods: The method used was quantitativequasy-experimental with Pre-test Post-test Design with control group. The research was conducted at two nursing education institutions in Indonseia during July-August 2020. A total of 90 research respondents were selected with simple random sampling technique.  The instrument used in this study was the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS).  Research data was then analyzed using paired t test and Independet test. Results: Paired t test in the treatment group obtained p value = 0.000. This means that there is a difference in academic burnout before and after intervention in this group, while the test results in the control group obtained p value = 0.170 meaning that there is no difference before and after intervention. Independent t test result showed the value of p = 0.000, indicating differences in academic fatigue in these two groups. Conclusion: Academic efficacy training is effective in reducing academic burnout in nursing students who participated in lectures with the block system.

Abstract

Introduction. Aerobic Gymnastics is one type of exercise that increases fatty acid oxidation so that can lose weight. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of aerobic exercise on body mass index (BMI) changes in person with obesity. Methods. This study was a quasi-experimental study using a pre-post test design. Individuals with obesity / overweight do aerobic exercise for 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Before aerobic exercise, the body mass index (BMI) measured and then after aerobic exercise done reassess the Body Mass Index (BMI). The number of sample studied were 30 women aged between 17-22 years old.Results.The results showed that BMI scores before aerobic exercise intervention is average of 27.54 and the average BMI of the respondents after attending aerobics for 6 weeks was 26.65 with a probability value (p = 0.000) smaller than (p = 0.05), which means that there is effect of aerobic exercise with BMI change. Discussion. BMI levels have changed significantly after aerobic exercise for 6 weeks. Keywords: BMI, aerobic, obesity

Abstract

Introduction: Low graduation rates UKNI (Indonesian nurses Competency Test) encourages nursing students for their innovative teaching model. MDR learning methods (Mind mapping, discussion and role play) is a new teaching method and innovative that can improve student understanding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning the MDR model towards the understanding of the students in the subject of community nursing. Methods: This study uses a pre-experiment approach pre-post test. Sample of this study was 50 7th-semester student. All students who followed the MDR learning model were given practice questions then followed this learning model and measured again using practice questions. Results: Analysis of data using statistical test paired t-test. Distribution of respondents by sex is 15 people (30 %) men and 35 (70%) of women. Average male student GPA was 3.1, average female student GPA was 3.3. Conclusions: The results show that there are differences in the pre and post (mean = 35.46). Learning MDR Model improves critical thinking, motivation and makes learning fun. Keywords : Mind Mapping, Nursing, Education, Discussion, Role Playing
