The achievement of student’s competency is obtain by selection of appropriate of learning models. Preceptor ship is one of the learning model in clinical study. The research aims to analyze the implementation of preceptor ship model toward competency achievement of nursing clinical students. This first years is a observational quantitative study. Samples was taken by consecutive sampling to 38 preceptees and 38 preceptors. The data was taken by checklist instrument. The data processing used univariate and bivariate within chi-square. The results showed that 20 (52.6%) preceptors were good in preceptor ship implementations and 18 (47.6%) preceptors were less good. While that the competency of student’s achievement results showed that amount 21 (53.3%) were achieved and amount 17 (44.7%) were half achieved. Chi-square result showed that p-value 0.010 (<0.05) which means there were correlation between implementation of preceptorship model toward competency achievement of nursing clinical students. This research recommended preceptor ship model into clinical learning towards enhance the competency achievement of students.

Abstract

Introduction: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has a significant impact on health services and a major psychological challenge for nurses. The aimed of this review was to explore anxiety and coping mechanisms of nurses who provide care to COVID-19 patients.   Methods: Search strategies were developed for the Scopus, CINAHL, Lancet, Sage and ProQuest database. The data sources were limited to articles published from 2019-2020. MeSH terms were combined with Boolean operators and used to search the databases. The study quality of each article was determined based on the quality analysis of the JBI guidelines and the study evaluation used PRISMA checklist. Review process; the titles and abstracts of the identified articles, general and specific characteristics from eligible articles were extracted and the quality of included trials were appraised by using a risk of bias assessment tool. Results: The 25 articles provided data on 145 subjects that were randomly allocated to anxiety and coping. The results of this study are six studies (24%) showing the clinical manifestations of nurse anxiety, ten studies (40%) nurse coping mechanism, and nine studies (36%) causes of nurse anxiety. The results of the assessment of each study selected using the JBI Guidelines show that all studies score above 50%, which means it can be used as a reference for systematic review. Efforts to reduce anxiety can be done by implementing strict measures and protections to prevent contracting the COVID-19 virus. Conclusion: This review suggests that the nurse coping mechanism is formed through the guarantee of protection as a health worker that must be fulfilled properly. Hospitals and professional organizations have an important role in supporting this implementation.

Abstract

Introduction: Clinical learning is a very important component for nursing students to integrate theoritical with skills in real settings. However, the reality revealed that the achievement of student competency is still not fulfilled yet; this is due to the unstructured interaction between students and mentors. The purpose of this study was analyzed the competence of the clinical learning module on the competency achievement of nursing student. Methods: This research is a quasi-experiment with the pretest-posttesttwogroup research design. Research samples of students in two nursing school in Surabaya who met the criteria of 50 respondents as a treatment group and 50 respondents as a control group. The research instrument used questionnaires and clinical learning modules as well as competency achievement books. Data analysis used Wilcoxon sign ranks test and Mann Whitney test with α ≤ 0,05.Results: The results of statistical tests in the control group obtained P value 0.14 showed there were differences in achievement of competencies before and after, in the treatment group obtained P value 0.000 which means that there were differences in achievement of competencies before and after using the learning module, and the results of Mann Whitney Test obtained P 0.000 , means there is an influence of the clinical learning module on the achievement of the competence of nursing students. Conclusions: Nursing clinic learning requires interaction between students and mentors so that with this clinical learning module can effectively improve the achievement of the competence of nursing students.

Abstract

Introduction: Many patients with hypertension have not got the proper treatment in controlling blood pressure (BP). The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of deep breathing (DB) and slow-stroke back massage (SSBM) in BP reduction to patients with hypertension. Method: The design was a True Experiment the Solomon Three-Group Design. Sampling technique was group randomized plan as many as 60 people. The treatment given was BP and SSBM. Blood pressure data retrieval used mercury spigmomanometer. Results: The results were ρ of BP values (systolic) was 0,000, while the value of ρ (diastolic) was 0,000. The value ρ of SSBM (systolic) was 0.000 while the value of ρ (diastolic) was 0.001. The statistical results of the effectiveness BP systolic reduction was the significant difference in both interventions with a control group with ρ = 0.000 and the most effective was the DB compare to SSBM with ρ = 0.05 (4.0 mmHg). While there are differences in BP diastolic reduction significantly in both interventions with the control group with ρ = 0.000 and the most effective was DB than SSBM with ρ = 0.01 (6.6 mmHg). Discussion: It can be concluded DB and SSBM are effective to lower BP (systolic mean difference of 9.3 mm Hg of DB and SSBM 5.3 mmHg, while diastolic mean DB 11.2 mmHg and SSBM. Keywords: deep breathing, slow stroke back massage, blood pressure, hypertension
