Abstract

This study aims to determine student responses using online learning media based on WhatsApp applications in science learning during the covid-19 pandemic. This is a survey research by using quantitative and qualitative methods. The sample used is class V SD Negeri 1 Labuapi for the academic year 2020/2021 as many as 20 students. The instruments used are interview sheets and student response questionnaire sheets. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the study based on the research objectives, namely student attention in online learning based on WhatsApp applications from the results of the questionnaire 75% strongly agree, 48.75% Relevance, 55% Confidence, 39.28% Satisfied. Based on the objectives and results of the research, it can be concluded that students' attention in online learning based on WhatsApp applications obtained 75% questionnaire results in the positive category, 48.75% in the non-positive category, 55% confidence in the less positive category, and 39.28% satisfaction in the non-positive category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the location of learning difficulties and the factors that cause difficulties in learning algebraic structures experienced by students so that the value of algebraic structures is better and satisfying, so that students are motivated to take algebraic structures courses. The research subjects taken were fourth semester students of the Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sam Ratulangi University in the 2018/2019 academic year. Data collection methods used are documentation method, test method, observation method and interview method. The documentation method was used to obtain data about the list of student names that were used as research subjects. The test method is used to obtain data on student completion in the algebraic structure course. The observation method is used to determine the objective conditions during teaching and learning activities of algebraic structures and to determine the factors that can affect the learning process. While the interview method is carried out to clearly identify the problems faced by students when learning algebraic structures. The location of students' difficulties in learning algebraic structures is in the problem solving, concepts and skills sections. The highest difficulty experienced by students is in the problem solving section with a percentage of 62.5%. Another difficulty experienced by students is difficulty in concepts with a percentage of 50%. The last difficulty experienced by students was difficulty in skills with a percentage of 45.7%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Peer Tutor learning model when compared to the conventional type of experimental learning. The population in this study were students of class VII MTs. Nurul Huda Tempos for the 2020/2021 academic year, totaling 117 people from 4 classes. The sample consisted of 2 classes, namely class VII B as the experimental class and class VII A as the control class. Sampling was done by random sampling. The research instrument consisted of pretest and posttest. The results obtained tcount (4.14 > ttable (2.42) with a confidence level of 5%, N = 30 which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The average student learning outcomes using the Peer Tutor learning model are 72.03, while students who use conventional learning models are 63.53. The results of this study indicate that the learning outcomes of the experimental group differ significantly from those of the control group. Thus, it can be concluded that the Peer Tutor learning model is more effective than learning using conventional learning models. on the subject of a one-variable system of linear equations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of the application of learning the concept of energy and its amendments charged ethnoscience fish curing used to improve the scientific literacy of students. This study is a quasi experiment with p retest- posttest control group design to determine the results of the application of learning ethnoscience charged on the subject of energy and changes to the science literacy of students. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP Negeri 5 Demak the academic year 2015/2016 with a sample class as the control class VII A and VII B as the experimental class. The research instrument is the questionnaire process of curing fish and scientific literacy test in the form of essays. The result of the application of learning the concept of energy and its amendments ethnoscience charged and the device obtained an increase science literacy learning based on the N-gin in the control class is 0.164 (low category), while the experimental class of 0.443 (medium category). Analysis by t test based on pretest results obtained by the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.670 > 0.05 showed no significant difference in the value of second-class pretest, posttest between classes while the value obtained Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 indicates no significant difference posttest value of both classes. The results of research and discussion concluded that the application of learning the concept of energy and its amendments charged ethnoscience fish curing effectively used to improve the scientific literacy of students.

Abstract

This research aims was to produce a decent learning device IPA (valid, practical, and effective) to complete the learning outcomes in human circulatory system material. To achieve these objectives, the authors developed a learning device that consists of a syllabus, lesson plans, worksheet, Instructional Materials for Students and Student Assessment Instrument using 4-D model of development. This learning device validated and revised before it tested on twenty five students of seven grader of SMP Negeri 1 Blitar with one group pretest-posttest design. In analyzing data, this study used observation, test, and questionnaire. The technique of analyzing data used descriptive qualitative and quantitative design. The result of the study showed that first, the learning device was valid. Second, teaching and learning activity done well. Third, learning outcome was 100% complete. Fourth, students gave positive response with excellent category. Based on the findings, it could be concluded that the learning device for science subject with discovery learning based had been valid, practical, and effective it could be used to complete the learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the optimization of students' mathematical connection skills using a scientific approach. The method used is library research. The data in this study were obtained through reading, taking notes, and collecting data from various library sources such as journals, articles and other relevant sources. The results of the study, students' mathematical connection abilities can be optimized by using a learning model with a scientific approach. The learning steps taken include: observing, asking questions, gathering information, processing information and communicating.

Abstract

In the learning process, effective teaching materials are need so that students can receive material easily. One of the problems faced by teachers when teaching is the teaching materials have not led students to high-order thinking so that the ability in students' critical thinking skills is not optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to develop teaching materials in the form of SSCS-based worksheets (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) so that students can play an active role in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to determine the validity of the developed SSCS-based worksheets (Search, Solve, Create, and Share). This is a descriptive study with an analysis, design and development design adopted from the ADDIE approach consists of five stages, namely (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The worksheets prepared then validated by 10 validators. The results of the validation of SSCS-based worksheets (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) are 87% with very valid categories. Therefore, it can be concluded that SSCS-based worksheets (Search, Solve, Create and Share) are declared valid.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the composition and abundance of phytoplankton in the waters of Carik Harbor, North Lombok Regency. Research activities include: determining sampling points, taking samples, and measuring water quality (including temperature, pH, salinity, and brightness) at each sampling point and identifying types of phytoplankton. Data were collected by purposive sampling, as many as 7 points in the coastal area of ​​Carik Harbor. Based on the identification results, calculations were made on the composition of the number of species. The results of laboratory observations, found 62 types of phytoplankton from Carik harbor waters from 2 orders, namely: Bacillariophyceae (Diatomae) and Dynophyceae. Species from the order Bacillariophyceae are the most dominating, with 58 species, while from other orders, namely Dynophyceae, there are 4 species. The highest abundance was at station 6 (143080 cells/L) and the lowest was at station 5 (54880 cells/L).

Abstract

Broiler eggs are one of the eggs that have the highest consumption rate compared to other types of eggs. However, the shelf life of broiler eggs is very short. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of using straw scrubbing ash with coconut fronds in the process of making salted eggs. The research was conducted by analyzing the organoleptic test results of respondents on the quality of broiler chicken salted eggs. The results of the study stated that the results of organoleptic tests using statistical tests at a significance level of 5%, in treatment P0 obtained an Fcount value of 8.954 which was greater than Ftable of 2.47, in P1 obtained an Fcount of 2.861 which was greater than Ftable of 2.47, and in P3 the Fcount value of 5.912 is greater than Ftable of 2.47. Meanwhile, in the P2 treatment, the Fcount value of 0.434 was smaller than the Ftable of 2.47. Thus, it can be concluded that the quality of salted eggs using straw rub ash with coconut fronds in the P0, P1, and P3 treatments was significantly accepted by the respondents. In addition, the quality of broiler chicken salted eggs in treatment P2 was not significantly different and was declared unacceptable by the respondents.

Abstract

The success in learning Biology can be seen from the cognitive abilities of students, but a low average score is an indication of difficulties in students' science process skills skills related to ecosystem material. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning model assisted by student worksheets (LKS) on students' science process skills. The research design used was quasi-experimental in the form of one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all class VIII, while the sample selected was class VIIIA as the experiment class. This sample was determined using a saturated sampling technique. Data regarding science process skills were taken using the pretest-postest instrument in the form of essay questions. Before further analyzing the pretest-postest results, the two classes were first tested for normality and homogeneity. The results of the hypothesis test show that = 13,646> = 1,734 which means that Ho is rejected, so that there is a difference between the experimental class science process skills on the posttest and pretest results or in other words there is an effect of the learning model of problem based learning assisted by LKS on students' science process skills. This indicates that learning with a learning model of problem based learning assisted by student worksheets allows students to achieve science process skills.
