Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of cage density and cleanliness on the incidence of coccidiosis as well as to determine the level of coccidiosis infection in Kembaran District, Banyumas Regency. The targets of the research were rabbits raised by rabbit breeders in Kembaran District, Banyumas Regency. Rabbits used consisted of various species and ages by taking into account several criteria of cage density and cleanliness. The research method used was direct observation (survey) with a purposive sampling technique. Samples as many as 90 samples were taken, with each sample consisted of 3 grams of feces. The analysis used is descriptive analysis and Chi Square. The results of the analysis showed that there was an influence between cage density variables on coccidiosis (P<0.05) with X2count>X2table (7.57>3.841) and the influence between cleanliness variables on coccidiosis (P<0.05) with X2count>X2table (35.73>5.991). The total infection rate of rabbit coccidiosis in Kembaran District was 90 %. The rate of coccidiosis infection is non-pathogenic at 46.67 % and pathogenic at 53.33 %. The highest rate of coccidiosis infection was in Karang Tengah Village (40 %), while the lowest coccidiosis infection rate was in Sambeng Kulon Village (16.67 %).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan daun bangun-bangun (Coleus amboinicus Lour) yang diproteksi tanin batang pisang. Penelitian ini mengunakan 16 ekor Kambing Peranakan Etawah bulan laktasi kedua dan ketiga. Rancangan acak kelompok digunakan pada penelitian ini dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok sebagai ulangan yaitu P0 = hijauan 70% + konsentrat 30%, P1 = P0 + 0,5% daun bangun-bangun diproteksi tanin dari ekstrak batang pisang, P2 = P0 + 1% daun bangun-bangun diproteksi tanin dari ekstrak batang pisang, P3 = P0 + 1,5% daun bangun-bangun diproteksi tanin dari ekstrak batang pisang. Peubah yang diamati adalah konsumsi bahan kering (BK), produksi susu dan efisiensi produksi susu. Data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam, jika berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian daun bangun-bangun berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi bahan kering pakan dengan rataan 1431.16 ± 67.165, berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap produksi susu dengan rataan 153.15 ± 66.11, dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap efisiensi produksi susu dengan rataan 9.45 ± 3.84 pada Kambing Peranakan Etawah. Kesimpulan penelitian bahwa penambahan daun bangun-bangun diproteksi tanin batang pisang tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi bahan kering pakan, produksi susu dan efisiensi produksi susu.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to identify isolates that produce cellulase enzymes derived from cellulolytic bacteria from the digestive tract of termites and to determine the best type of substrate as the carrier and survival of these isolates. This research consists of 3 (three) stages. The first stage of research was the isolation of cellulolytic bacteria using descriptive data analysis. The second stage of research was to determine the best carrier for selected cellulolytic isolates, while the third stage was to determine the shelf life of the isolates with the selected substrate as the best carrier by analyzing data using analysis of variance. The results of the first phase of research obtained 3 isolates of cellulolytic bacteria from the best termite digestive tract based on the clear zone index test with isolate code VR52, VR61 and VR81 with clear zone index for each isolate 1.087; 2,250 and 1,710 mm. Based on Gram staining, the three isolates were gram-positive bacteria in the form of bacilli. Maximum enzyme activity in isolate VR61 (Bacillus sp) with its enzyme activity (19.91 µ/mL). The results of the second stage study showed that rice bran was the best sAubstrate based on total microbes with a value of 202 x 109 CFU / g. The results of the third stage research showed that the number of cellulolytic bacteria in the selected sub-extract (rice bran) at a storage temperature of 4oC (178.92 x 109 CFU / gr) was more than that of storage at 27oC (101.69 x 109 CFU / gr). This research concludes that the longer the storage time shows a decrease in the number of bacteria and pH in the sub-extract. The best interaction on rice bran sub-extract as a carrier at a storage temperature of 4oC in the second week with the number of cellulolytic bacteria 197.8 x 109 CFU / gr with a pH value of 6.46 and the fourth week of 167.85 x 109 CFU / gr with a pH value of 6.39.   Keywords: Cellulose, Cellulolytic Bacteria, Termites

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ransum mengandung bungkil inti sawit fermentasi (BISF) dengan Bacillus cereus V9 terhadap kualitas fisik daging ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 25 Agustus 2020 sampai dengan tanggal 30 September 2020 di Laboratorium pusat dan terpadu, Laboratorium Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jambi dan kandang Farm Fakultas Peternakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Susunan perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah R0 = 0% BISF, R1= 10% BISF, R2= 15% BISF, R3= 20% BISF, R4= 25% BISF, R5= 30% BISF. Peubah yang diamati dalam penilitian ini adalah pH, susut masak, dan daya ikat daging ayam broiler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh pemberian ransum yang mengandung bungkil inti sawit fermentasi dengan Bacillus cereus V9 tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pH, susut masak, dan daya ikat air daging ayam broiler. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pemberian bungkil inti sawit fermentasi dengan Bacillus cereus V9 dalam ransum ayam broiler dapat di gunakan sampai taraf 30%. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemberian ramuan jahe (Zingiber Officinale), dan kunyit (Curcuma Domestica Val) berprobiotik dalam air minum tehadap kadar kolesterol darah pada ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Farm Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jambi dan lab phantologi dinas kesehatan provinsi Jambi selama 28 hari dimulai 28 agustus sampai 25 september 2020. Materi yang digunakan yaitu 200 ekor DOC dengan strain 202 platinum. Rancangan yang digunakan pada peelitian ini yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, setiap ulangan terdiri 10 ekor Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah P0 = Control P1 = Jahe 0,25% + kunyit 0,25% berprobiotik P2 = Jahe 0,25% + Kunyit 0,5% berprobiotik P3 = Jahe 0,5% + Kunyit 0,25% berprobiotik P4 = Jahe 0,5% + Kunyit 0,5%berprobiotik. Peubah yang diamati yaitu kolesterol total, Trigliserida, HDL, LDL. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ragam menunjukan bahwa pemberian ramuan jahe dan kunyit berprbiotik dalam air minum berpengaruh nyata (PË‚0,05) terhadap kadar kolesterol total dan HDL namun berpengaruh sangat nyata (PË‚0.01) terhadap Trigliserida dan LDL darah ayam broiler. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kombinasi ramuan jahe dan kunyit berprobiotik 0,5% dan 0,5% dalam air minum dapat meningkatkan kadar HDL, ramuan jahe 0,5% kunyit 0,5% berprobiotik meningkatkan kadar kolesterol total tapi masih dalam batas nilai normal, namun menurunkan kadar LDL, dan ramuan jahe 0,25% dan kunyit 0,25% berprobiotik menurunkan kadar trigliserida dalam darah pada ayam broiler.. Pembimbing pendamping ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the administration of probiotics ginger (Zingiber Officinale) and turmeric (Curcuma Domestica Val) in drinking water on blood cholesterol levels in broiler chickens. This research was carried out at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Farm, Jambi University and the Jambi Provincial Health Office's phantology lab for 28 days starting August 28 to September 25 2020. The material used was 200 DOCs with a strain of 202 platinum. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications, each replication consisted of 10 tails. The treatment used was P0 = Control P1 = Ginger 0.25% + Turmeric 0.25% with probiotics P2 = Ginger 0 ,25% + Turmeric 0.5% probiotic P3 = Ginger 0.5% + Turmeric 0.25% probiotic P4 = Ginger 0.5% + Turmeric 0.5% probiotic. The observed variables were total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL. Based on the results of the analysis of variance, it showed that the administration of probiotic ginger and turmeric ingredients in drinking water had a significant effect (PË‚0.05) on total cholesterol and HDL levels but had a very significant effect (PË‚0.01) on triglycerides and LDL in broiler blood. Abstract

Chicken eggs are animal foods that are consumed by many people because they are cheaper and easier to obtain than other animal foods. Bay leaf is known to the public as one of the most popular kitchen spices not only because of its many health benefits, but also because of its attractive organoleptic quality (aroma). Eggs soaked in bay leaf infusion are also expected to produce attractive organoleptic qualities without affecting their chemical quality (fat content). The research design used was a 4 x 4 factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 4 replications. Factor I is the concentration of bay leaf infusion (4 concentrations) and factor II is the immersion time (4 times). Parameters observed included chemical quality (fat content) and organoleptic quality (color, aroma, texture, taste). The data were analyzed by means of variance and if it had a significant effect, it was continued with the Duncan's Distance Test. All treatments have not been able to significantly affect the fat content of eggs. The quality value produced is still in the range of fresh egg quality. The longer the immersion the lower the organoleptic value. This research still needs to be developed so that the egg quality is increasing, especially the organoleptic quality. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui level terbaik penggunaan onggok dalam pembuatan wafer ransum komplit berbasis jerami jagung (WRKJJ) dinilai dari kualitas fisik wafer. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu: WRKJJ-3 (Ransum komplit menggunakan 3% onggok), WRKJJ-6 (Ransum komplit menggunakan 6% onggok), WRKJJ-9 (Ransum komplit menggunakan 9% onggok), dan WRKJJ-12 (Ransum komplit menggunakan 12% onggok) masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Peubah yang diamati yaitu kadar air, berat jenis, kerapatan bahan, wafer durability indeks, dan daya serap air. Data dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Ragam (ANOVA) dan diuji Polinomial Orthogonal (PO) untuk mengetahui level optimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan berbagai level onggok sebagai perekat tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kadar air (38,14%-40,36%), berat jenis (0,75 g/ml-0,77 g/ml), kerapatan wafer (0,22 g/cm3-0,24 g/cm3), dan daya serap air (182%-195%) namun berpengaruh nyata (P<0,005) terhadap wafer durability indeks (38,61%-92,99%) dengan persamaan y = -0.5869x2 + 14.694x + 0.489. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan level onggok 9% merupakan level terbaik untuk berat jenis dan kadar air wafer, penggunaan level onggok 12% merupakan level terbaik untuk daya serap air wafer dan penggunaan level ongok 12,5% merupakan level terbaik untuk wafer durability indeks. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kecernaan secara in sacco penggunaan kulit buah jagung amoniasi dalam ransum ternak sapi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jambi. Bahan yang digunakan adalah kulit buah jagung, rumput gajah, jagung giling, dedak halus, bungkil kelapa dan urea. Alat yang digunakan adalah timbangan, alat pemotong rumput, ember, alat semprot, kantong plastik, oven, alat giling, pH meter, desikator, seperangkat alat untuk in sacco (kantong nilon, tali nilon, selang plastik, karet pengikat, karet penggantung). Peubah yang diambil pada percobaan ini adalah degradasi bahan kering, degradasi NDF dan degradasi ADF. Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuannya adalah R 0 = 70 % Hijauan (100% Rumput + 0% Kulit Buah Jagung Amoniasi) + 30% Konsentrat, R 1 = 70 % Hijauan (75% Rumput + 25% Kulit Buah Jagung Amoniasi) + 30% Konsentrat, R 2 = 70 % Hijauan (50% Rumput + 50% Kulit Buah Jagung Amoniasi) + 30% Konsentrat, R 3 = 70 % Hijauan ( 25% Rumput + 75% Kulit Buah Jagung Amoniasi) + 30% Konsentrat, R 4 = 70 % Hijauan (0% Rumput + 100% Kulit Buah Jagung Amoniasi) + 30% Konsentrat. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan anlisis ragam sesuai dengan rancangan yang digunakan. Uji lanjut yang digunakan adalah uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil pada penelitian ini yaitu perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap degradasi bahan kering, degradasi NDF dan degradasi ADF. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu kulit buah jagung amoniasi dapat menggantikan total hijauan dalam ransum ternak sapi.
