Abstract

Background: The negative impact of anxiety on the mother is changes in the behavior of pregnant women such as diet, lifestyle or physical activity, resulting in labor complications, anxiety problems in the puerperium period. While the impact on the baby such as stunted fetal growth, preterm birth, asphyxia, Low Birth Weight (LBW) and can even cause death in the baby. Objective: To review scientific evidence based on published articles related to the health behavior of pregnant women with psychological problems and disorders. Methods: This research method was a scoping review, using PEO framework. Literature search used PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, and grey literature using Google Scholar and Research Rabbit. Articles were critically appraised by using JBI and MMAT critical appraisal tools. Results: There were 7 articles out of 7,796 that were relevant to the research objectives. The articles come from 4 developed countries and 3 developing countries. Three themes were found namely health behavior, the impact of anxiety, and stress reduction strategy. Conclusion: Based on the 7 articles obtained, the health behavior of pregnant women is in accordance with the objective are knowing compliance with ANC visits in pregnant women, knowing health behavior related to consumption of nutritious food in pregnant women, knowing the physical activity of pregnant women with psychological problems and disorders.

Abstract

Background: The increased coverage of antenatal care has not matched the reduction in maternal mortality. One reason is that the antenatal care received by pregnant women is not up to standard. Following technological developments, WHO has presented a digital health intervention framework to improve the quality of antenatal care. Purpose: This Study aimed to analyze the need for mHealth development for pregnant women and health workers to provide quality ANC services. Methods: This study uses qualitative research methods, in the form of 2 Focus Group Discussions, namely for groups of service officers and pregnant women. Then 2 in-depth interviews for MCH management officers at the Health Centers and the Health Office, as well as a study of documents on recording and reporting. Data analysis was carried out thematically. The research location is in Cengkareng District, West Jakarta. Results: The main theme found was the opportunity to use mHealth in ANC services at the Health centers. pregnant women need faster service, service officers need convenience in administrative tasks. The need to remove obstacles in the form of low levels of information technology literacy, limited mobile phone memory, and lack of funds for maintaining the use of information technology. The most desirable feature of mHealth is that it can simplify the administrative tasks of service personnel and can automatically display health promotions according to the needs of pregnant women. Conclusion: there is a need to develop mHealth for pregnant women and ANC service workers equipped with features that can improve the quality of ANC services.

Abstract

Background: In 2020, the number of Infant Mortality Rates reached 2.4 million people due to LBW (34.5%). LBW contributes 60 to 80% of all infant deaths. LBW is babies born weighing less than 2500 grams. LBW has problems if the baby does not die at the time of birth, it will have a risk of growing and developing slowly, stunting, affected by non-communicable diseases, anemia, and impaired heart function. Purpose: To determine the relationship between maternal factors and the incidence of LBW at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. Methods: This research used a quantitative analytic survey with a case-control approach. This study used medical record data and maternal cohorts. The population in this study was 604 newborn babies at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital with a total sample of 142 respondents. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. This study employed the master table as a data collection method. The data analysis used is the chi-square test. Results: Based on the results of chi-square analysis, maternal parity (p-value = 0.228) with OR = 1.518, gestational age (0.000) OR = 15.200, multiple pregnancies (0.009) and OR = 10.161, and preeclampsia (0.164) and OR = 0.571. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between gestational age and multiple pregnancies with the incidence of LBW. Meanwhile, parity and preeclampsia do not have a significant relationship with the incidence of LBW. It is recommended for every pregnant woman to carry out routine check-ups during pregnancy to prevent the occurrence of LBW

Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding for six months is one of the global strategies to improve growth, development, health and survival of infants. However, the coverage of failing in providing exclusive breastfeeding are still high in many countries. Lactagogum is a substance that can increase milk production, lactagogum can be found in the Coleus amboinicus lour plant. Purpose: To identify the effect of providing Coleus amboinicus lour ice cream on breast milk production. Methods: This research employed an experimental study with a quasi-experimental research design and three group pre-test and post-test design on 15 respondents. The variables used are consuming Coleus amboinicus lour as the independent variable and milk production for the dependent variable. Statistical test using univariate and bivariate data analysis and Paired sample t test, using SPSS V. 26 Results: The results showed that 3 groups consisted of 15 respondents with the average breast milk production based on the baby’s weight of 3020 grams before consuming ice cream, 2940 grams after consuming 15 grams of ice cream, and 3040 grams after consuming 25 grams of ice cream. Besides, the frequency value of the baby’s weight after the treatment increased to 3051 grams, 3120 grams with 15 grams of ice cream, 3258 grams with 25 grams of ice cream. The Paired sample t-test obtained p = 0.0005 (p <0.05) and the independent t-test obtained a sig value of 0.015 and a sig. 0.008 (< 0.05) Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is an effect of giving Coleus amboinicus lour ice cream on the increase of breast milk production. It is suggested to provide Coleus amboinicus lour ice cream can be a solution in providing exclusive breastfeeding services for smooth breastfeeding.

Abstract

Background: The achievement of active Long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) participants for West Kalimantan Province was only 9.54% in 2019 and it has not meet with the main performance target in the Strategic Plan (2015-2019) 15.19%. Research Objectives: To analyze the determinants of the use of LARC by women of reproductive age in West Kalimantan based on the results of the 2017 IDHS data analysis. Research Method: Analytical research with cross-sectional research design and using data from the 2017 IDHS in West Kalimantan. The research sample was all women of reproductive age aged 15-49 years in West Kalimantan who were using contraception, namely 501 respondents. Results: Bivariate analysis illustrates that there is a correlation between age (p value = 0.008), education level (p value = 0.002), parity (p value = 0.009), place of residence (p value = 0.005, economic status (p value = 0.000), and internet access with the status of LARC usage by women of reproductive age in West Kalimantan (p value = 0.000). Other results concluded that there was no relationship between the variables  of work (p value = 0.3), knowledge (p value = 0.674), distance to health services (p value = 0.2 ), health promotion by health workers (p value = 0.478), spousal support (p value = 0.8) and the variable number of wanted children with the status of women of reproductive age using LARC in West Kalimantan (p value = 0.173). Conclusion: There is a need to increase education and reach of contraceptive services for husbands by conduction collaborative works with public figure, religious leaders and women's organizations in carrying out health promotions about contraception in various public facilities.

Abstract

Background: Preconception care is provided to minimize adverse risk factors in fetal growth and development. in preconception care important educational aspects before encouraging the need for mobile education. .Mobile applications can be used to provide more practical preconception education. Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate whether providing education through Premommy applications is beneficial in improving the knowledge, behavior, and psychological well-being of women during the preconception period. Methods: This study is quantitative research with pre-experimental design, one group pre-test and post-test. The study was conducted at the Religious Affairs Office in Padang City with 50 participants. Results: Results show an increased percentage of respondents with high knowledge (22%), good preconception behavior (16%), and mild anxiety levels (16%) after the intervention. Analysis test with Wilcoxon obtained p-value <0.05. Conclusion: There was an influence of intervention using the Premommy application on the level of knowledge, behavior, and psychological conditions. Professionals are expected to improve quality in providing preconception education using applications.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of stunted toddlers is around 24.4%. Meanwhile, in 2022, the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) prevalence of toddlers with stunting will decrease to 21.6%, a decline of 2.8% from 2021 Purpose: This study aims to assess the association between the characteristics and knowledge about stunting of mothers who have toddlers and the incidence of stunting Methods: The research design used is quantitative, with an analytical survey design using a selective cross-sectional approach. The sample comprises 98 respondents’ mothers with children under five and their toddlers. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire. Statistical analysis used Chi-square. Results: There is an association between the mother's age, education, family income, and knowledge with the incidence of stunting in children under five years. Conclusion: A mother's characteristics and knowledge are closely related to the incidence of stunting. It is essential to provide education for mothers to prevent stunting in children.

Abstract

Background and Objective: Rohingya refugees are one of the most vulnerable population groups from any perspective, and that certainly includes their sexual and reproductive health and access to appropriate services. This review synthesizes SRH status and needs of Rohingya women of reproductive age, addressing their experiences in accessing services. Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, this review employs quality assessment tools (Newcastle-Ottawa Scale, MMAT, Cochrane Risk of Bias). The search strategy will be comprehensive, spanning prominent databases such as PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus. Additionally, a diligent search will extend to gray literature, reference lists, and citations. Synthesis: Employing a narrative synthesis approach, the data synthesis will encompass three critical domains: the SRH status and needs of Rohingya women, the barriers encountered in accessing SRH services, and the effectiveness of existing SRH interventions. Results: The review seeks to provide valuable insights for policymakers and healthcare practitioners, offering a foundation for evidence-based strategies aimed at advancing SRH outcomes among Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and similar Asian contexts. The review is registered in PROSPERO (CRD42023444386) for transparency and efficiency. Conclusion: Have been made to address the health and humanitarian needs of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, there is still limited knowledge about their SRH.
