Abstract

Metal working processes can be generally classified into 2, namely non-cutting (without cutting) and cutting (cutting). In the world of manufacturing industry, the success of a production process is greatly influenced by the production machines used. Lathes are machine tools used to cut rotating objects. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cutting speed, infeed speed, and cutting depth on the material processing rate using CNMG 120404-TF iscar brand lathe and using dromus as coolant. This study uses an experimental method, with variable settings in order to obtain a large material processing rate. The turning process uses a conventional MAWItech D.O.O.B 160 x1000 lathe, and the material used is AISI 1045, and the research data is analyzed using ANAVA in statistical software. The results showed that the effect of cutting speed on the mean material processing rate was -4.32% and the S / N ratio was -2.50%. The depth of cutting has the most significant effect on the rate of material processing.

Abstract

In the manufacturing industry in the machining process especially CNC machining, the thing that must be considered is the level of surface roughness of the combination of parameters. This study aims to determine the minimum level of surface roughness in the CNC MORI SEIKI SL-25 machining process by setting the right machining process parameters. The machining process parameters analyzed were cutting speed, depth of cut and feeding. The experimental design is based on the Taguchi method and is an orthogonal matrix L9 (33) with 2 replications to overcome the interference parameters of the machining process. The analysis method in this experiment is the Taguchi method. Based on the results of the study showed that to reduce the variation of the response simultaneously, the cutting speed had the largest contribution of 36.50%, compared to the depth of cut which was 16.28% and feeding of -12.45%. Parameter settings that produce a minimum level of surface roughness are 150 m/min for cutting speed, 0.40 mm for depth of cut and 0.35 mm/put for feeding.

Abstract

Cigarette filter waste is one of the wastes that is difficult to recycle and has no selling value, so cigarette filter waste is used as an alternative material for making helmet shells. This study aims to determine how a composite material (ie 16% HGM, 76.5% epoxy, 7.5% cigarette filter waste) is used as a basic material in the manufacture of helmet shells. The testing process carried out is the charpy impact test with different specimen thicknesses (3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm). Based on this study with a thickness of 3 mm, the highest average impact strength compared to other thickness specimens was 0.02868 J/mm2, at 4 mm thickness was 0.01628 J/mm2, at 5 mm thickness was 0.01025 J/mm2 .. In this test, compared with the results of the SNI helmet impact strength test of 0.00972 J/mm2 then all specimens passed the material test for SNI helmets.

Abstract

Cylindrical grinding is a fundamental process in final machining, as it requires high dimensional accuracy and low surface roughness. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of vibration on surface roughness in the cylindrical grinding process. The method used is the Taguchi method. Variations in cylindrical grinding process parameters include workpiece rotation speed and cutting depth. This research shows thatThe faster the rotation of the workpiece and the depth of cutting, the higher the vibration and surface roughness, so that you know the amount of vibration that causes the level of surface roughness in S45C steel material.

Abstract

The maintenance carried out at the Polman Babel Mechanic Workshop uses a breakdown maintenance system. Beakdown maintenance is a maintenance system that is only carried out if a machine is damaged. because it is made preventive maintenance that focuses on scheduling to perform scheduled maintenance on the machine so that it is always ready to use. based on current conditions maintenance activities are still carried out manually. The maintenance system that will be designed uses website technology as a display interface. The stages in designing this system start from problem identification, problem formulation, data collection, system design, system development, testing, analysis, conclusions and suggestions. Based on trial result wich is done by the system design, it will able to generate maintenance schedules, worksheets, and also keep the result of maintenance that have determined when the next treatment will be carried out.

Abstract

In the industrial world has many complex problems about metals, therefore there needs to be a variety of heat treatment on metals in order to obtain the desired product. Therefore, in this study was conducted to obtain data on the effect of heat treatment on the hardness value and micro structure of Amutit steel and the influence of hardening process with three types of enhancing media namely carbon powder, anthracite, and wood charcoal with four variations of cooling media namely Ordinary Water, Sea Water, Ice Water and Oil. With this research is also expected to be useful in the manufacturing industry. The purpose of the study was to obtain optimum hardness due to the process of heat treatment and rapid cooling. Steel material amutit K-460 / AISI 01 is included in the classification of steel tools used in the manufacturing industry to help the production process such as cutting tools and as a mold material for plastic materials. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that Baja amutit or AISI 01 has a hardness of 16.3 HRC without treatment. The hardness of this amutit steel is able to be increased through heat treatment with rapid cooling. Heat treatment done with the addition of activated carbon media is harder in comparison with the addition of Anthracite media and wood charcoal media. The highest hardness is influenced by the form or dimension of activated carbon that is smoother than other media, where the smoother or smaller the dimensions of the enhancer material, the faster the diffusion process occurs. Where the average hardness for the addition of activated carbon media is Sea Water (64.13), Plain Water (63.46), Oil (63.83), and Ice Water (66.2) with HRC units, As for anthracite media, namely Sea Water (58.26), Plain Water (54.76), Oil (51.8), and Ice Water (55.8) with units of HRC and Wood Charcoal media of Sea Water (58.33), Plain Water (51.83), Oil (45.8), and Ice Water (58.8) with units of HRC.

Abstract

Red bricks are the most easy material to locate and use practically any building. Besides being cheap, red bricks are also often used because of their easy and plentiful production processes in all parts of Indonesia. Brick use in both construction and non-construction or structure needs to be increased products produced, either by improving the quality of the red brick matality or additions to other materials.. Based on sni 15-2094-2000, red bricks are a rectangular prism material, solid or perforated with a hole volume ata maximum of hole volume at 15% and are used for constructing walls of buildings, which are made of clay with or without active material and burned ata certain temperature. The study was done using the RSM method of using soft prelims. The data processing produced 20 samples with six times the repetition in the center. The results of this study were the result of the highest impaction in experiments 14, 122.9 kj/m2, with a 8-day drying parameters, a temperature of 968.18oc with a 10-hour heat span and the lowest impact on experiment 12 was 47.6 k Kj /m2 with the long drying parameters of 8 days, places up to 800oc and a length of warming 3.27 hours this is due to the long drying and long warming. Based on shem's test, the exact difference in the form of breaking the value of the broken impak tests shows that the surface has become crystalline with perfect uniform. even though some of the parts are cracked, it is because the water contained less than the lower intake, which forms the crystals at least 50%, while in some areas there is a portation or hole in which the convergence is still incomplete.

Abstract

At this time many vaname shrimp ponds have been made and developed, especially in the Bangka Belitung Islands. One of the main problems in shrimp ponds is the quality of pond water which must be in accordance with the living needs of shrimp, the process of monitoring water quality in shrimp ponds is usually done manually by taking water samples and then taking them to the laboratory for analysis. The purpose of this study is to facilitate farmers in the process of monitoring the water quality of shrimp ponds based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This research method is carried out by collecting data, designing control circuits, testing, and analyzing data. The average percentage error from the temperature test data for 1 hour is 0.31%, for 2 hours is 0.14%, and for 3 hours is 0.23%. The average percentage error from the pH test data for 1 hour is 3.05%, for 2 hours is 6.62%, and for 3 hours is 4.23%. The average percentage error of the salinity test results for 1 hour is 2.68%, for 2 hours is 4.27%, and for 3 hours is 1.95%.

Abstract

Currently the industrial world continues to experience development, especially industries engaged in manufacturing. Product development by manufacturing companies is a must to meet consumer needs. One of the most efficient ways to develop these products is to use a 3D printer. The 3D printers on the market use the RAMPS 1.4 control board with the marlin firmware which is open source, while the 3D printers made use of the Arduino as the control system. This 3D printer has the ability to print straight lines with the Matlab application as an application to give commands to print. To get maximum results, it is necessary to prepare and test to get the appropriate parameters. Based on the testing of the tools that have been made, the 3D printer can function sufficiently with parameters such as nozzle temperature in the range of 150 ℃ and the distance between the nozzle tip and the print bed of 0.25 mm. The 3D printer that has been made has an accuracy rate of ± 9.4 mm with a resolution of 0.16 mm and a repitability of 0.2 mm.

Abstract

Catfish hatchery cultivation business is currently very high. This can be seen from the number of people who open catfish hatcheries and places to eat catfish but are still constrained in the process of calculating the number of catfish seeds. The method of calculating at this time is still manual and volumetric. Of the two methods, it is still very dependent on the person who counts the catfish seeds. Therefore, a catfish seed counter was made automatically in order to shorten the time of calculating the catfish, using a webcam. After testing the design of the catfish seed counter, it was found that, from the average percentage of tool error in 5 experiments in each calculation of the number of catfish seeds with a maximum data of 200 catfish seeds measuring 5 mm - 10 mm long, the results obtained are the average tool error is 8.92%. The calculation process time using the tool is faster than manual calculations. The main error in the calculation is caused by the number of catfish fry that are piled up and the different sizes of the seeds so that the reading is not stable or accurate.
