Abstract

The background of this research is the weak ability of students in communicating their ideas or thoughts into mathematical language with the aim of research (1) to determine the correlation between mathematical communication skills and mathematics learning outcomes about solid figures to fifth grade students of public elementary schools in Alian Sub-district and (2) to measure the contribution of mathematical communication skills on mathematics learning outcomes about solid figures to fifth grade students of public elementary schools in Alian Sub-district in academic year of 2020/2021. The research was correlational quantitative method. The samples were 297 fifth grade students in 11 public elementary schools throughout Alian Sub-district. Data analysis used a simple correlation test with a significance level of 5% and the determination coefficient. The results showed that: (1) there was a correlation between mathematical communication skills and mathematics learning outcomes about solid figures to fifth grade students of public elementary schools in Alian Sub-district. It indicated strong correlation which was the value of r arithmetic (0.538) > r table (0.114). It meant that the higher student’s mathematical communication skills, the higher student’s mathematics learning outcomes, and vice versa; (2) the determination coefficient of mathematical communication skills was 28.9% on mathematics learning outcomes and the remaining 61.1% was influenced by other factors

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the correlation and contribution self-confidence and mathematical communication skills about solid figures to fifth grade students of public elementary schools in Alian Sub-district in academic year of 2020/202. It was correlational quantitative method. The samples were 289 fifth grade students in 11 public elementary schools throughout the Alian Sub-district. Sampling method was  a cluster random sampling. Data analysis used SPSS application. The results showed that the correlation between self-confidence and mathematical communication skills had correlation coefficient 0.595. The contribution was 35.4%. It concludes that there is positive and significant correlation between self-confidence and mathematical communication skills. It means that the higher student’s self-confidence, the higher student’s mathematical communication skills and vise versa. Self-confidence contributes 35.4% on mathematical communication skills about solid figures and the remaining 64.6% is influenced by other factors

Abstract

The low reading comprehension ability of grade III students of SD Negeri Panyingkiran Tasikmalaya has encouraged researchers to conduct Classroom Action Research (CAR) at the SD. With the formulation of the problem: How to improve learning to read understanding of fairy tales using pictorial media in grade III SD Negeri Panyingkiran? The purpose of this study was to improve the reading comprehension skills of fairy tales by using pictorial media in grade III SD Negeri Panyingkiran. This research method refers to the classroom action research method according to Kemmis & MC Taggart which includes: 1) Planning, 2) Action, 3) Observation, 4) Reflection. This research lasted for two cycles consisting of cycle I and cycle II. The results showed that the ability to read understanding of fairy tales in pre-action reached an average value of 48,84, teh first cyle increased with an average value of 54,41 and the second cycle increased with an average value of 80,76. It can be concluded that the use of pictorial media can improve the process of reading comprehension of fairy tales

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low student learning outcomes in Social Sciencess model subjects as shown by the number of students in class IV, only 21 students 70% are still below KKM 72. With these problems, through this study it is hoped that student learning outcomes will increase wit the applicaton of the model Snowball Throwing cooperative learning type to improve students social studies learning outcomes. The method used in this research is to use the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, the data collection technique to determine the ability of teachers in planning and implementing during learning, test techniques to determine students learning outcomes or achieve the Snowball Throwing type cooperative learning model, and documentation teachnique in the form of photos of student activities during the learning process. The results of this study indicate that the application of the Snowball Throwing type cooperative learning model can improve students social studies learning outcomes in grade IV. The results showed that at 30 students in the implementation of cycle I there were 14 students (47%) who had reached KKM 72, and in the implementation of cycle II there were 27students (90%) who had reached KKM 72. It was concluded that the application of the Snowball Throwing type cooperative learning model could improve student social studies learning eoutcomes in natural resources material and its utilization in grade IV SD Negeri Cisugih, Jatiwaras District, Tasikmalaya Regency, 2020/2021 academic year

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of the use of the PBL-based multimedia and learning motivation on the students’ critical-thinking skills in elementary school. This research method is quasi-experimental with the 2x2 factorial design. The sample in this research consisted of 62 students with 31 control-class students who taught with module and 31 experimental-class students who taught with problem-based learning multimedia with a total sampling technique. The data collection techniques were the open-ended critical-thinking skill test and learning motivation questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was a prerequisite test and research hypothesis test. The prerequisite tests include normality and homogeneity tests. The research hypothesis test used a Two-Way ANOVA with SPSS 25. The results of this research showed that: (1) there is the influence of multimedia-based PBL in the experiment class on students’ critical-thinking skills (the mean score of the experimental class is 69±2.890 and of the control class 51±3.071); (2) there is the influence of high and low learning motivation on the students’ critical-thinking skills (the mean score of the students with high motivation is 68.572 and those with low motivation 52.171); and (3) there is no interaction between the PBL-based multimedia and the learning motivation on the students’ critical-thinking skills

Abstract

Multimedia as a fiqh learning medium at MI Ma'arif Darussolihin Jonggrangan which can increase students' learning interest so as not to quickly feel bored in receiving lessons, to improve student learning achievements as expected, especially in fiqh subjects, considering that the results of student learning achievements are currently not as expected. Namely, the average class is 6.8, while the common value of competency of fiqh subjects that apply today is 7.7. Currently, the approach applied by teachers in fiqh learning still uses a conventional approach. The research method used by researchers is the waterfall model. They are designing a multimedia-based fiqh learning media MI Ma'arif Darussolihin Jonggrangan using the Action Script programming language. Design the system using Adobe Flash CS5 version 9.0 software and graphics processing, using Adobe Photoshop CS5 version 11.0 and Corel Draw X7 software. At the time of all the pretests obtained an average score of 38.95, and students were declared incomplete, while posttests got an average score of 81.4 with a proportion of 92.1% completion with the results of 35 students declared complete while three were declared incomplete. So that it can be said that the application of learning media in the study of fiqh can improve student learning outcomes. The results of this study are a multimedia-based fiqh learning medium that can help solve problems about student achievement results that have not been in line with expectations

Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning problems that were previously carried out face-to-face now turned into online learning (in the network). This causes a decrease in student interest and learning outcomes while participating in online learning. The low learning outcomes are evidenced by the acquisition of an average grade of 30 students in grade 4, there are 47% of students whose scores reach the KKM and 53% of students whose scores do not reach the KKM 75. Based on this research, it is hoped that the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model is effective in improving interest and student learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative research approach with an intact-group comparison design experimental method. This study used a questionnaire and test data collection instruments. Then the data were analyzed using the Independent Sample t-test. Based on the results of the t-test obtained tcount> ttable, namely 15,878 > 1,688 and the results of the t test on the learning outcome variables show that tcount> t table, 6,964 > 1,688. It can be concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model is effective in increasing the interest and learning outcomes

Abstract

Education aims to prepare students to become a generation that is able to face all the challenges of the times and solve social problems in their environment based on social science concepts that are analyzed scientifically and think critically. The application of the inquiry learning model in the 2013 curriculum through the stages of data collection, analysis, and making hypotheses helps students become people who can think critically scientifically by using social studies concepts. The aim of this study is: a) Knowing the mechanism of the Inquiry Model can be used to improve critical thinking skills in students' social studies learning, b) Knowing how to apply the inquiry model to social studies learning in the classroom, c) Knowing the characteristics of critical thinking, d) Knowing the supporting components of increasing critical thinking skills by applying the inquiry model, and e) Knowing the stages of how to build critical thinking patterns and their effects in improving critical thinking skills by applying the inquiry model. The steps of the Inquiry model are the basis for critical thinking and can be used as a thinking map. The process of reasoning systematically, logically and deeply accompanied by scientific arguments along with evidence in the form of data or accurate information so that conclusions can be obtained that can be accounted for can be used to train critical thinking

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the use of learning media using Torso media in improving student learning outcomes in science lessons on the subject of Digestive Organs in Theme 3 Sub-theme 1. The research method used is Kurt Lewin's CAR (Classroom Action Research) with the following steps: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. From the results obtained in the pre-cycle learning, it can be seen that only 8 students have completed the KKM with a percentage of 36% with an average value of 62.27. Then proceed to cycle 1 and get a score that only 12 students have completed the KKM with a percentage of 55% with a class average of 67.27. After that, cycle 2 was carried out again with the score that 22 students all completed the KKM with a percentage of 100% with a class average of 90.00. Thus there has been an increasing change so there is no need to take further action because it has been successful. Based on all these data, it can be concluded that using the demonstration method can improve student learning outcomes in Natural Science Subjects Theme 3 Sub-theme 1 in class V SD Negeri Bojongjengkol 03 Ciampea District, Bogor Regency, West Java Province

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), especially PowerPoint, for integrated thematic learning with the theme of energy saving, in the energy and motion subtheme. The method used is research and development, and one of the important procedures is the validation of PowerPoint-based learning media. Qualitative validity was carried out on 41 fourth-grade teachers in the city of Medan, North Sumatra, and the results showed that the media had good quality. The media was then tested on 32 fourth-grade students of a public elementary school in Medan, North Sumatra. The results showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes from 68.94 to 76.72. In addition, powerpoint-based learning media has a positive effect on students, and where they feel very happy when using it
